Worse dining experience Ive ever had. That is a pretty far fetch considering I eat out all the time. This visit was terrible for various reasons I will go into detail about. I have been coming here since the place opened and I usually recommend to friends and family here. NOT ANYMORE. My buddy and I decided to come here to eat for dinner 6/13/15. Its pretty straight forward right? Order off the menu, eat your food, pay, leave. The gentleman (asian fohawk guy) told me I couldnt order off the Kids Menu because I had to order a main dish. Fine, never had to do that before, I have no problem with that (mind you, no where does it say I have to do this on their menu plus their website advertises it as SIDE DISHES) Im just not into the big main dishes and I like smaller portions. I even offered the gentleman if I could buy 5 small dishes- more money- he said I couldnt because then I would have to get another main dish (???). Still doesnt make any sense and Im easy going, I dont care whatever, Im hungry I want to eat. I ask about the beer special. He says buy one get one free. So I order Asahi for my buddy and I. He brings out a 22 oz beer- says thats the same. Okay so maybe I shouldnt fuss; special says buy 12oz beer get one 12oz beer free (two twelve oz bottles equals 24??). We can get nitty gritty here, U.S. bottles hold 11.2oz so Im not gonna lose sleep over the missing .4 ozs of beer but I think he should have mentioned it. I refuse the beer (didnt touch it). Annoyed, I ask to pay so I can leave. A moment passes, another gentleman waiter(bald asian guy with glasses) walks up, holds the menu in my face, points at the Kids menu and says, Excuse me sir, can you read?. My blood started to boil! How can someone say that? Very upsetting! Another waiter (young woman) interrupted, do you want me to call the owner? I thought to myself how insane this spiraled out of control. I didnt tip (am I a bad person?). Did I mention he made me pay for the beer? Voided it of course, and charged me accordingly. Transaction to leave? 15 minutes at least. You know what? Ive been working at the service department of a large Japanese Auto company for 10 years and I have rarely experienced this poor of condescending/demeaning service. I would have been fine with EVERYTHING except for what the bald guy threw in my face. I felt belittled, shocked, and sick to my stomach. Needless to say I do not recommend this place.

Wow. This place... My friend and I came here wanting ramen. Thats not quite what we got! Firstly, neither my friend nor I like pickled ginger. After my friend explained that she didnt want picked ginger on her ramen, she was assured that the type of ramen she was ordering didnt come with pickled ginger anyway so no worries. Well, hearing this, and having ordered the same kind of ramen, I didnt think I would have to request "no picked ginger." I was wrong! If youve ever tried to pick out pickled ginger from a bowl of hot soup with a pair of chopsticks, you know its an adventure. We both ordered the lunch special as well, which came with fried rice. Lo and behold, each of our orders of fried rice had picked ginger on top. Oops!! Secondly, the noodles were not ramen noodles. I live in the San Francisco Bay Area where you can find some of the best food of any ethnicity and I assure you that there are adequate disclaimers posted if the noodles you are getting in your ramen arent ramen noodles. No such disclaimers here. The only saving grace of this meal (besides the delightful company I had in my friend) was the fried rice (after we got through the pickled ginger) and the gyoza which was pretty decent. Id never come here again for ramen, though. Disappointing.

This, THIS is what weve been searching for. My husband and I lived in Tokyo for 6 years and have been on a quest to find REAL Japanese ramen, and this place is as close as it gets (weve tried places all over the country too). We ordered nearly everything on the menu and nothing was disappointing. Our kids were in heaven! We loved it so much that we made the 1 hour drive back to it (we live in Colorado Springs) less than a week after our first visit because we couldnt get it out of our heads. It was just as delicious the 2nd time. We will go back again and again. The chefs and owners are all Japanese, which for us was a major positive sign that they knew what they were doing. The wait staff was so polite and we especially loved chatting with Jade, she took great care of us. Im so confused by the poor reviews of this place. Most likely people dont understand what real Japanese food should taste like. Also, the portions are very large--Ive never been able to finish what Ive ordered. And if you go at lunch you cant beat the 3 course deal--Ramen, Gyoza, and another dish of your choice for less than $15!

Katsu Ramen is a tiny restaurant in a little shopping center, but it is the bomb when it comes to authentic Japanese ramen and donburi dishes. Ive tried several ramen bowls, which are rich, flavorful, and packed with food. The donburi bowls are excellent. Great katsudon here. The katsu curry is great too. The karage and gyoza are excellent appetizers and I love the miso soup. I keep talking friends to come here just so I can keep trying all of the different dishes they have. One word of caution regarding the combos they have here. Better come with a huge appetite because even though the donburi bowls in the combo are smaller than the normal ones, the sheer amount of food with the ramen and the small gyoza plate will fill you up and then some. I cant recommend this place highly enough. Also, it is run by Japanese people, which makes it just that much better.

Its OK, I tried the katsudon and katsu curry and they were both not great. It didnt taste like the curry or katsudon I had in Japan at all. My husband was happy with the tonkatsu ramen but also remarked that it was definitely a different flavor than hes used to. I specifically couldnt finish the curry because there were chunks of beef in with the potatoes and carrots when it was supposed to be a pork only dish. The curry was also extremely sweet like beef stew flavor instead of having any spicyness to it. The service was great and we will probably come back just because theres not many other options for Japanese food around.

Was really hoping that this would be a good find for ramen at good prices but was left a little let down. I had the spicy chicken ramen with a katsu don side. The katsu don was a bit soggy and the egg was a bit of a mess and on the salty side. The ramen was ground chicken with a large dollop of goju chang for the spice, which was not what I was hoping for. I can understand that this place has a bit of a Korean influence as the owners are a Japanese Korean couple, but maybe a bit more of a description of the ramen menu would be nice if its going to deviate from the traditional Japanese offerings.
