By far, Shai Lai Seafood Restaurant on Geary St in San Francisco is one of the finest Chinese restaurants I have ever been to. And thats saying something, as I have been eating with chopsticks in NYC since I was in 1st grade. The Chow Fun, dry style with beef was perfect. The salt and pepper squid cooked only barely, as should be. The pork buns are to die for, perhaps the best Ive had. Lightly breaded, the sweet and sour shrimp is textbook classic, not too cloying, and not gloppy. For desert, the custard cups were delicate and flaky, while the green bean soup couldnt have been better. They say to eat Chinese where the Chinese eat. Its true. But dont let them eat alone, come to Shai Lai and be in the minority.

Visited here after a long day touring. This place was very relaxing, no wait time, staff was very helpful with food choices, the hot tea was great, 4 of us each ordered separate food items, spring rolls, fried rice, glass of wine, our bill was $94. Worth the money. Lots of food!!. Sensational.

The food there are awesome, staff there are very nice! Chinese New Year is the most important festival for Chinese, its very busy there, but the service is really great! My fiancé and I are happy and satisfied about everything there! Recommend it!

Really great dimsum restaurant. Food is ordered through a checklist so you can pick everything you want beforehand. Staff is friendly, restaurant has authentic dimsum, and location is quite clean!
