I was visiting a friend lives around the corner from, and frequents, Mescolanzas. She wouldnt let me leave for home until I had enjoyed a meal at her favorite restaurant. From the moment we walked in, our experience was one of a warm, welcoming atmosphere topped only by the delicious, beautifully presented dishes. I had the salad of baby shrimp on artichoke hearts. My entree was spinach pasta (delicate thin strips) with vegetables and a scrumptious light sauce. We were on our way to the airport, so didnt get to enjoy a dessert. This was an enjoyable meal that I look forward to repeating next time Im in San Francisco.

Carpaccio has been a staple for 20 years and is perfect every time. The Gnochi special I had tonight was perfection in every bite. The down side is the ambiance needs a little shot of life. A candle on the table, some led strip lights to accent anything would be a start. Lastly, there should never be dead air in a modern industrial dining room. Some soft sounds of an Italian classic is a quick solution. Am I going back? No matter what! And you should too!

Mescolanza has always been one of my favorite restaurants. I was really upset when I saw that it had closed its location on Clement St. Then I saw it on Geary St. yeah!! Best Pesto Linguini ever. Once they had a Rack of Lamb dish years ago. My husband still dreams about it. This is truly a great restaurant.

I got take out from here a could days ago. The eggplant pizza was amazing and the caprese salad came with some fantastic basil balsamic dressing. We got there early and a early to pick up our food so the waiter poured us a glass of wine on the house. All around fantastic.

This old school Italian restaurant has the best carbonara Ive had. Although I miss the convenience of the older location, they have managed to keep the quality and staff intact. Make sure to mention your birthday for an operatic serenade.

Nice atmosphere and great staff. Cobanara had a strong wine taste and lasagna was too creamy for my taste. Would try one more time to find something I like, but kind of expensive to keep trying things.

Weve been going here for years. Food is great and everyone there is wonderful. We really missed them when they were closed for a few months relocating.
