Coming from Florida I have huge standards for Cuban sandwiches. My wife and I have been actively seeking for the best Cuban in the D.C. area since we moved here. Unfortunately this isnt it. Beautiful store ambiance and delicious coffee. But their Cuban sandwich missed the mark for a few crucial reasons. The bread was too thick and narrow, not left on the press for long enough, so it lacked any crispiness when biting into. Overall flavor was good, but not enough strong mustard flavor and a little meat heavy probably driven by the narrowness of the bread. All in all, if in the area may come back for coffee. But my hunt for the perfect Cuban continues.

The empanadas were good (tried the chicken and the spinach), but the service left a lot of room for improvement. The girl who took my order mumbled and was hard to hear, and seemed to be inconvenienced by me. My friend and I ordered and paid separately, and but our food was boxed together in one to-go box. The other server left the box on the counter, and rather than bringing it to us, just yelled across the room that it was ready and disappeared into the back before we could request separate containers. Disappointing for a place that came so highly reviewed.

Very nicely designed space, but not a lot of space to sit especially when people are parked with their computers. We tried the chicken, spinach & cheese and roasted cauliflower empanadas. The first two were very good (skip the cauliflower), but they were expensive for their small size. We also got 6 croquettes. The ham was very good, but the mushroom ones were only tolerable with the sauce. Overpriced. The salad was fresh, but pricey. The Cuban and the Media Noche sandwiches were very good, but again, pricey. Plaintain chips were tasty.

As a Cuban I was excited to hear of this restaurant. Nice place and atmosphere, however a real Cuban sandwich and Media noche do not have spicy mustard as part of the recipe. They use regular mustard. Also the media noche and Cuban sandwich require more ham. The bread they use for the sandwich is close to what Cuban bread is but it needs a little work. The bread on the Media noche is accurate. The pasteles fall apart to easily, however they taste pretty darn close.

1st time out in the Sterling, VA area and stumbled on this spot. 1st of all, Im in LOVE!!! Its quaint, the music will have you wanting to dance and the double Pina Colada is as good as in the islands itself!! Where can you go to get Cuban coffee, sandwiches AND an alcoholic drink in one spot?!?! Skip Starbucks... COME HERE!! l wish Iived closer but if I did, this would be my 2nd office!!

Fun, fast-casual Cuban place. Who could ask for more?? We really enjoyed sharing a Cubano, the cha-cha-cha! cocktail, and all the coffee specialties are wonderful as well. I particularly like the Cafe Bon Bon, and my fiance likes the cafe latte Miami sweet. The plantain chips are addictive as well. Definitely swing by if youre in the area, and especially when the weather is nice!

Was super hyped for this place after seeing Tom Sietsmas review. Its quite casual (no table service) but a great summer spot, since theres a lot of nice covered outdoor seating. Not sure if the ambience will be the same once the temperature gets cooler. Prices for everything are great (happy hour!!

I like this place. I like the happy hour savings. The empanadas are outstanding and a good deal. Drinks are made less like a "bar" or "cocktail" and more like a juice bar attitude, which was nice on a hot and steamy afternoon to hear music in the common area within the Overlook Village.

Cafe excelente. The place to relax l and have a great cup of coffee. The happy hour menu is great and the food yummy. The people are very welcoming and great in making that cafe con leche and cortadito. Recommend Colada if you want that great tasting coffee and not fake Starbucks. A.C.

Really great little place. I also loved the music and atmosphere I had a sandwich and a regular coffee. Sandwich was great and the coffee had a good flavor, not too light. The pastries are good but not fresh made it seems. Its also a tad pricey. Still I plan on regularly going back.

Amazing food great drinks, love going to "lesser" known places. Lesser only in the sense it isnt a large chain. If this is the closets I can come to Cuba I will be happy. Only issue is if they had heaters at the floor level, my upper body was very warm.

Ive been there twice. I work every other Saturday so I stop by Colada and I get Cafe Cubano and Pastelitos for my team. They are delicious! I highly recommend this place. The service is great, they actually speak Spanish (and English). Very Authentic.

I had a latte and it was good; seemed to also get me fairly buzzed with caffeine. The pastry was... fine I guess. I wouldnt go out of my way for it but its a solid stop for coffee if youre already nearby.

Loved the atmosphere and style of restaurant. I had the Cuban french press coffee which was very smooth and a veggie cuban sandwich. Highly recommend for good coffee and tasty snacks.

Great way to enjoy a great coffee and not have to deal with Starbucks. I actually prefer cuban style coffee which is big coffee taste and far less mocha, frappa latte etc.

Theres nothing better after a long day than coming to colada, having a drink and some empanadas. Its the best when the weather is mild, the outside seating is great.

The croquetas were not my favorite. Im used to a creamier croqueta. The Cuban sandwich was tasty. The location is very cute and the outside seating is awesome.
