November Pumpkin (I’m so sated I can barely move!) So… it all started about noon when one of my bosses, Louise Hasson (Bon Vivant School of Cooking) pulled freshly toasted pepitas out of the oven. “Sugar Pumpkin” she said, “because I want my Holiday memory of pumpkin pie to be something other than some store-bought monstrosity that we only resorted to.” By the time the seed hit my mouth, pumpkin ravioli hit my brain. I assure you, it was a thought that would not be dislodged no matter how hard I didn’t try. LOL By three o’clock I was calling the last place I remember having it… Greenlake Bar and Grill. “Do you still have pumpkin ravioli on the menu?” I ask. “No,” she’s says, “we’re promoting the jalapeño mac and cheese”. NOT! Out of desperation, I Google’d “pumpkin ravioli Seattle.” The number one hit… Bizzarro Italian Café. Why didn’t I think of that! By 3:45, I was dialing… no answer. At 4:15, I tried again. Ugh! I cry. Another boss, Stewart Hougen (Landcrafters Inc.) queries me. “I just got a message saying call after 4:00”. “You’re going to Bizzarro’s! That’s my favorite restaurant. Try again! I bet you get a person this time. He was right. I explained my particular craving and asked, “Is pumpkin ravioli on the menu tonight?” She said “Yes.” And, I said “I love you. I’ll see you at 5:00.” 5:02 found me pressing at the front door to have it unlocked. The staff appeared to be what you would expect in a “U-Dist” establishment. Bread with Olive Oil and Balsamic were brought to me without prompting. I ordered the starter salad and a Syrah which turned out to be a quite passable vintage from California. Only minutes after I finished, the entrée arrived. Cooked to perfection, I thought I was in heaven. Completely sated, the thought “there’s always room for spumante” entered my mind. When I inquired, he said that they did not carry spomanti but recommended a mango sorbet that had just the right combination of palate cleanse, citrus tang, mellow sweetness and minty freshness. Overall… Bizarro’s – a little spendy but worth every dime. Eccellente! Now I am so sated I can barely move!

This is a lovely, bustling, neighborhood Italian restaurant. A cozy atmosphere and attentive waitstaff earn this place its 5-star rating. The food is quite good, but can get a little pricey. I would recommend the lasagna, the Caesar salad, the bolognese, and the TIRAMISU! I have had all of those dishes respectively and like them a lot. Something that I havent done yet here is to dine in on a Sunday when there is apparently a big meatball event on the menu. It seems like this is something that Biazzarro is known for, and could be a delicious, interesting evening! Although best for small parties, tables here can sit up to 6. There is usually a wait, and they do not accept reservations, so be prepared for that if you are planning a date night around this place. Parking can be a little hectic, but there are usually spots in the surrounding neighborhoods. Bizzarro is an excellent place to order a bottle of wine and relax on a rainy winter night, or a summer afternoon. Beautiful cuisine in a pleasant space!

I adore this place to bits! I first went here for a dinner with friends, and this place is great for small-ish (we had 6) groups. I have also taken my parents here for mothers day and my boyfriend for our anniversary, both of which were very nice as this place sits somewhere between classy and casual. The waitstaff is always very nice and knows how to crack a subtle joke or quip. Good wine selection, ok beer selection. But the drinks arent the important part; its the food. The elk bolognese, forest floor frenzy, puttanesca, lasagna, and pesto gnocchi have all been wonderful. Their beet salads are also to die for, and are worth paying a bit to upgrade to from the house salad. The tiramisu is amazing, especially if you order it with an espresso shot on the side; its so satisfying to pour it right on top! Just go with your gut and you shouldnt be disappointed.

This place was a major let down. Dont get me wrong; the decor and friendliness was fantastic, but the food was, well, terrible for the price, honestly. Not just with my dish, but with 3 out of 4 dishes all extremely bland and at a ridiculous price for the value when compared to other Italian restaurants. The 4th dish, the steak, was decent, but seriously, how hard is it to make a steak taste good? Salt and butter will do the trick. A lot of the consumers in the joint were young so I am only assuming these 4 and 5 star reviews are coming from people who have never eaten at another Italian restaurant. Lovely people - no-good overpriced food...but the bread was amazing. Side thought: you should combine services with Ristorante Doria as theyre quite the counter: Amazing food with terrible service. You would be the best restaurant in the world.

What isnt to like about Bizzaro. I come every year for y birthday and whenever in the area. I ate here 6 years ago or more on my first visit to Seattle and was hooked. All house made pasta, sauce, the whole 9 yards. I had the house special rabbit tonight, very delicious. Elk is my favorite. Everything on the menu is great, tried it all. A mushroom fan, highly suggest forest floor frenzy! Ambiance isnt for everyone, service has always been great! Kids no kids very accommodating. My personal favorite is cell phone surcharge! Get the heck off your phones and enjoy life! I take family and friends whenever they come to visit and everyone loves the place. If not a fan god bless your poor soul!

This restaurant is exquisite. The food is divine, the wine is delicious and the desserts are to die for! The decor of the restaurant is a bit bizarre, as the name suggests, but that does not take away from how amazing this place is! The only downfall is the cost. You can run up the check really quick here if you are with your partner, enjoying food, drinks and desserts. It is good for special occasions. My favorites thus far have been the "Forest Floor Frenzy" in addition to the "Clam Linguine", and the "Tiramisu" for dessert, yum! Plan to spend some time looking for parking though and Ive had to wait 45 minutes for a table, but it is totally worth the extra effort.

The food was pretty good and I very much enjoyed the forest floor frenzy. The walnuts could have used a little more toasting- they were kind of bitter and raw. The margherita pasta was very good as was the focaccia! The only thing that was a true miss for me was the arancini appetizer. I could see how theyd be really tasty but they were lacking in saffron, fontina, and salt. The wait staff seemed to hate life- maybe they had a bad day?..... All-in-all Id go again just for the foccacia and forest floor frenzy!!

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed ourselves at Bizarros. Excellent service, relaxed and humorous environment with possibly the best lasagna with tomato sauce in the city. We also shared the drunken clams and I wanted to lick the plate the sauce was so good. But probably the best of all was the lamb with demiglace. Wow. Best lamb Ive had in Seattle! Its very tender, with a well balanced demiglace and spoonful of housemade herbed horseradish... delicious!! Prices were also bery reasonable. Highly recommended.

Bizarros is a cute Italian Cafe with a lot of spunk! It is a little pricey and the wait can be long but I think its all worth it. The venue itself is tucked away behind another restaurant and the Boys & Girls Club. Parking is limited but there is tons of street parking in Wallingford. If you have to wait a while, I recommend going to Archie McPhees on 45th to pass the time. The food is delicious and really satisfies my Italian taste buds. There are many unique dishes but also some classics.
