i have to give them major props for dealing with such large groups of insane people and keeping their cool. our one waiter had to serve our very long table of 21 people AFTER weve been hanging by the bar for an hour prior to being seated. we were not an easy bunch, maybe catastrophic even, and the poor guy was great! haha there were times when he would ask us a question and none of us even heard him. but he was patient as it took us forever to vote on what dishes we wanted to share. he had no complaints when one of us asked for a drink from the bar, and then he came back to find out another one of us wanted something from the bar too. now, i am NOT condoning waiter abuse! i just want to illustrate how wonderful their service is. i have been to the buca di beppo in philadelphia as well and i really like the atmosphere and charm of these restaurants. the food is consistently ENORMOUS in portions, filling, and delicious. when passing the plates around, i could hardly hold it up with one hand. i would not want to go here on a date or with an old friend that you want to catch up with. this is a loud place for big, celebratory groups of people. but it is super fun and i enjoy myself every time! on a side note- beware of the awful parking in this area!!!! be prepared to take the first spot you see a few blocks away and walk.

I dont get the low ratings of this restaurant. I know its a chain, but they still serve good food and you cant beat the atmosphere. One of our friends was visiting from overseas after leaving San Francisco 3 years ago. He asked us whether we want to have dinner together at this restaurant. Of course we said yes. Heres the thing though. If youre looking for quite, this is not he place. This place has a loud acoustic, so it will be noisy whenever the room are filled (weekends!). We went here once a few years back when they were shorthanded on servers. After expressing our concern to the manager, he told us that our meal was free. There were 10 of us back then! The food is alright. Some good, others not so much. Some of our favorites:chicken marsala, veal parmigiana, and supremo Italiano pizza. For dessert, the tiramisu is a must! Last time we were there, we found the servers phone (which he left carelessly on the next table) and gave it back to him. In return, he gave us a free chocolate cake. That was a nice gesture.

Duplicated my review on Yelp: PLEASE BE CAREFUL HERE! I live two blocks away from this restaurant, and on a whim I decided to order a small ravioli witimeat sauce as a pick-up order. I arrived five minutes before the pick-up time, and my order was already cooling on the counter. I warmed it up when I got home and had half for dinner. I had an upset stomach afterwards, but I didnt connect it to the ravioli. I just had the rest of it for dinner a couple hours ago. Right now I am certain I have food poisoning - I have been in and out of the restroom all evening, and I am lightheaded and migraine-y. Normally I have the strongest stomach, but Buca di Beppo has laid me low. Update: Regional management has contacted regarding the incident. Instead of offering an apology over the phone, which is the low bar of my expectations, a man collected my residence and contact information, then made vague comments about needing to submit information to insurance. I dont know where this is going, but I shall continue to update.

Waited about 40 minutes on a Friday around 9pm, that was no big deal. A wait should be expected in a big city. The problem occurs after we are seated. There was a big birthday party next to us, and they were incredibly loud (one really loud obnoxious one). Happy birthday was sung, yada yada, no big deal right. I have a one year old, I understand that kids are loud, and I get the happy birthday singing. The problem was the obnoxious man that kept yelling "wow", "awesome", "cool". It didnt make sense. The wait staff never greeted us after being seated for about 5 minutes. The couple next to us was also clearly displeased with the loudness of that one guest, you could tell by the look of their face. Well, we had enough, we got up and walked out. On the way out, my wife mentioned why we were leaving to the hostess. She apologized, but it was just to late at that point. We will not be back.

This was the worst western world food experience I have ever had. 1) The reserved table was not ready when we arrived and we had to wait with 14 people in a too small corridor, we blocked the way for waitresses and guests. When coming to the table I didnt see any reason why this was necessary as there was plenty of space to seat people 2) It took about 10 minutes to get orders for drinks and then another 20 to get them 3) then the worst: the food is awful. The pizza was almost drowned in fat and low quality cheese, the meatball pasta was overcooked, contained no vegetable ingredients and herbs (except for canned tomatoes) and tasted like somebody spilled sugar in it (seriously it was very sweet of taste). The general color of the food is grey, reddish brown, which usually is a sign for poor quality and unhealthy food. So dont go here!

A very interesting trip to Buca, all the way from the beginning to the end. A mistake we made was we only had two in our party, It is a better bang for your buck if you go in a large group. I felt it was very pricey for ok food. I never ever had dry pasta with lots of fresh tomatoes on top. The salad (mixed greens with pancetta and gorgonzola) was soggy and really vinegary. The salad the originally put in front of us (Apple - Walnut) looked good, but when they offered it free to the table behind us, I think it just kept going down from there. Some host lady came by and took are plates but never once acknowledged us. It was an interesting experience, it seemed like no one knew what the other one was doing, I definitely wont be back! It was very expensive for mediocre food.
