Another addition to a place with a very unique and delicious masala (Ive yet to find another restaurant that even comes close). Ive moved out of San Diego but thankfully I have a family and business still in San Diego and so I get to visit a few times a year and enjoy this amazing food. Ive been to every single place in the city I now live, and I have to say, either Taste of the Himalayas has spoiled me, or they truly know something most other indian restaurants do not. For first timers, I recommend the Chicken Tika Masala, at least spicey level 2, but its delicious all the way up to 10 if that is your thing. Good luck and enjoy!

First, the atmosphere of the restaurant was very nice. We came around 9:30 pm on Thursday night so it was not so busy. I ordered steamed dumplings and they were delicious. And lamb samosas were amazing as well. Then came the cashew curry chicken, which went really well with the Nan and rice. Last but not least, mango Cassi is not too sweet and tasted soon good.I believe the owner, who came out a couple times to ask how the food was.The service is on point and re fills for water came several time. If youre looking for some good food to eat, Id recommend this place!

This is a scam!. Zagat rated restaurant!? No, it is an awfully mediocre and plainly bad scamming place: veg pakoras burnt and oily, salmon dish had a few overcooked shreds of fish in a heavy tomato paste, which was not even stirred around; lamb dish had 2 pieces of lamb and the rest boiled potatoes, cold clumpy plastic-y rise, and the best.....re-heated dry and burnt naan. Woman next to us was instructing her husband to eat something, because it was not polite to just walk out...... It was one ruined dinner.....what a shame!

The best Indian (and Nepalese) food in at least a 10 mile radius. The lunch special is awesome: for less than $9, you get two entrees, rice, naan, and a cup of lentil soup. (Lamb dishes, or garlic naan, cost extra.) Its all really good. Plus, they have the right music here: Indian classical, and really traditional Nepalese. Its an experience. Great service. I have no complaints about this location.

Had dinner here last night and it was amazing. I had the Malai Kofta and my date had the veggie Biryani. Both dishes were plentiful enough to take half home and have a whole other meal. We also got cups of daal and the papad and both were delicious - I have a particular fondness for caraway. The staff was very attentive and the ambience was lovely as well.

We had a middling experience here. The servers were nice, but the food was badly timed and our two courses came out at different times and werent complete right away. The Samosas and Tandoori flavors were awesome, but we found the Naan somewhat tasteless compared to others weve had. Nothing terrible, but not impressive either.

Great tasting food, spiced to your level 3/4 would be avg. 5/6 would be Indian standard and 7/8 is what we ordered a bit too much. The staff was very attentive and the order for paneer had tofu - I think they were out however not sure

Like everything else in the area, the parking is atrocious. But the menu of this quaint, unusual restaurant makes up for it. If you are feeling adventurous and want something different, this is a great choice.

This place is amazing for the price. The lamb and chicken vindaloo is delicious. Lunch portions are respectable and super cheap at $9

Service was slow. Momos are juicy but underseasoned. Saag aloo was ok.
