We are planning a small party with a few friends and had heard good things about this restaurant. This seemed like the ideal place, hence we decided to give it a trial run. We like spicy food and the menu had ample chilli icons next to most of the items we ordered: Starters: Chilli Fish Prawns (Pepper Salt?) Drums of Heaven Main Course: Chilli Garlic Noodles Chicken Fried Rice Chicken Manchurian Prawn Manchurian The bill came to a little over $120 (April 2017) - about $35 per adult just for the food. Apart from the Chilli Garlic Noodles, everything else was bland. You could clearly make out that the chicken and prawn had spent very little time in the Manchurian gravy. The chicken and prawn pieces themselves were under-cooked. It is as if somebody just boiled the gravy, dumped the chicken and prawn in that. Food so supremely bad, that we left 70 % - 80 % of it on the table. I personally could eat neither starters nor the main course. We went to this restaurant with high expectations, but it was such a damp squib! It boggles my mind that a restaurant with more than 4 stars from close to 360 Google reviews peddles such pathetic fare. Was the chef on leave? I will never find out though. Our search for a decent "Indian" Chinese restaurant continues.

Very mediocre for the price, my bill was $48 with tip which got me a prawns with black bean sauce, a side of fried rice (even with the high prices they dont include even steamed rice, its about $5 extra) and a margarita. The margarita was delicious but after the fact they told me they didnt actually have a liquor license so they use a low proof sake mixed tequila to get around their lack of license, it was $9. The prawns were a bit over done and the sauce was a bit goopy, also it came out in about 5 minutes (wasnt terribly busy but still unrealistically fast IMO) which to me means that most of it was prepped well in advance and then assembled at the end, not actually stir fried all at once. The fried rice had very good flavor but was a bit dry, again I think it was prepared in advance and then thrown in a pan to heat up. The staff was very friendly and the bar tender was nice and talkative but for a $50/person tab that was definitely not enough to make up the lackluster food. There is much better Chinese food in the area for much lower prices...

I went to Red Hot on Saturday 6/25/17. I had made reservations ahead of time and we were seated right away. As soon as we were seated I noticed the menu doesnt have variety. Most of it is chicken dishes. I thought they would have more of a variety. So, we ended up ordering a chicken appetizer, egg wrapped fried rice with shrimp, and black pepper beef with onions. It did not take long for our appetizer to come out, and the chicken was delicious. Then our main courses came out. I asked for the black pepper beef to be "mild," but it had absolutely no kick to it at all. It was really good, but it was called a "big plate" but consisted of nothing but a small measly plate that wasnt enough enough for 2 people. The egg wrapped shrimp fried rice was also really good. The manager came around to check on us and he was very nice which I appreciated. All in all: food too expensive for the amount of food they give you, service was good, would not go back.

I used to like them a lot until one bad customer service experience today! The host incorrectly heard my order over the phone and got it wrong. Everyone makes mistakes. Yes, it is not a big deal. The host was nice when I called back later and put me in touch with the Manager. I ordered the ginger-capsicum rice from their Dinner menu, and she heard ginger cap-chicken rice. what is cap-chicken? is that even a real/valid phrase? Not sure why the host would think that. anyway, the Manager was rude and arrogant and did not offer to refund me for the rice until I asked for a refund and told him the chicken rice was useless to me as I was vegetarian! Very poor customer service from the Manager!! He spoke like he was doing me a favor for issuing a refund for an order that they got wrong!! The least he could have done was be polite and issue me a full refund!

We had eaten here once before and thought it warranted another visit. Our visit last night was probably the worst meal I have had in a restaurant in the last few years. The waitress didnt seem to understand that when i requested food that was not breaded or deep fried, that bringing food that was breaded and deep fried would be a problem .The chicken lettuce cups seemed to have little or no chicken. The fish in garlic was a soupy mixture with a fake, sweet orange sauce and none of us found it edible. The chicken in black bean sauce was also soupy and indecipherable and also inedible. When I had to send back the breaded and deep fried cauliflower, she brought a vegetable dish with tofu, after we said no tofu. She offered to take back the tofu but it was too late. I went home and had a salad. I will never go back again.

If you need a fantastic food high fix, this is the place to go. We had so much great food! Prawn Manchurian, Lemon Chicken, Hakka noodles with chicken, Dry Chilli Chicken (hot but you have to eat it! Just drink water in between bites the flavor is SO good), Szechwan Fried Rice, and Sweet Corn soup. Plus a Samurai Margarita! Then Coffee Tortufo for dessert. Heres the kicker... The lunch hour closes at 2:15 and we got there at 2 (yes we did that because we missed it a few days ago) and we were able to order before the kitchen closed. Staff was amazing. Food was fantastic. Not rushed but service was very quick! Food was fresh. Cant say enough good things about this place. Next time were in town this will be a staple every time.

The restaurant was good - not great, especially if you love spicy food! They have plenty of vegetarian options as well as some good options for us carnivores. They also have a ghost pepper dish which theyll make you sign a liability form before serving it to you. The ghost pepper dish was actually pretty good, if you really like spicy food then I recommend it. Personally I dont think it was too spicy to eat, but I wouldnt finish the whole thing by myself since the prospect of unlimited beer/wine is not particularly attractive to me. All our other dishes were also good, but nothing truly exceptional. Come here to fulfill some of your spicy cravings, but dont expect anything spectacular :)

Red hot chili pepper got me all excited because I really like indian chinese But it disappointed me badly. Its nothing like Indian chinese. We were 5 adults who ordered a bunch of items but We just liked 2 items. The bill arrived and we were charged 2 extra items which i got removed And 18% gratuity charge(not mentioned anywhere on their menu or restaurant) for food I didnt like as much is too much. When i confronted the server he said it was california law to charge on parties of 5 or more. Wtf? I should be able to choose what and if i said tip! I left disappointed at bland not so indian chinese food with 18% gratuity charge.
