Horrible service! Went here for New Years and expected it to be busy, but didnt expect the staff to be incompetent. At 10 oclock, the bar was still not packed, but even with 5 people working behind the bar I still couldnt get service! I spent over half an hour being next for drinks without being acknowledged. People were being served out of turn, I witnessed drinks being poured that sat on the bar for at least 20 minutes, Im guessing for a table order, but a waiter never picked them up. I had to go with a third choice beer because a lot of their beer choices were now gone! (I guess they didnt count on people drinking on New Years Eve.) My friend who stepped outside while I ordered drinks was not allowed back in because management said they were full, yet after 7 more people left, they still wouldnt let him come in. Some girl had to finish making a sign saying "drinks are only served at the lounge area", then they let about 20 more people in. Really?! It was too full to let one more guy in that already had a drink ready for him, but then suddenly 20 more can come in with out any more people leaving?! This place is extremly disorganized, the staff is unapologetic, except for the security guard, who was actually the only friendly employee in the place. Management of Fat City needs to change!

4 of us were roaming through old town and decided to try out California fats since none of us had been before. our hostess was an attractive blond girl who for some reason never smiled once and seemed mad at the world and left us feeling a bit uncomfortable. 2 of our group decided on the fish and chips. my wife selected the tri tip sandwich and I picked the pulled pork BBQ sandwich. the food came quick enough but my wife immediately noticed her tri tip was grey in color and rubbery and was obviously a microwaved piece of meat that had spent to much time in storage. my pulled pork sandwich wasnt much better and was dry and flavorless and obviously had come from a microwave as well. the fish and chip surprisingly enough were acceptable. the worst part was later that night when my wife awoke with stomach cramps and explosive diarrhea. this lasted several hours and her tri tip sandwich became a tri and hold it in sandwich. I WOULDNT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO AN ENEMY! DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY BY PAYING SOMEONE TO MAKE YOU ILL. THE WORST!

Very desepointing experience . As soon as we arrived one of the girls she was bending gown and writing something ,she didnt even turn back ,she shouted grab a menu me and my wife stood there we didnt know what to do, until another waiter came gave us a table and menu ,as soon as he left another waitress came she said this section is closed ,she said you can go to bar area ,she pointed a table wasnt clean and set up . So we went there and waited about 5 minutes or so they all having fun and enjoying happy hour. My wife walked to them and said we want to go back on the other side so they moved us to other side ,finally one waiter came and looked us and said whats up, until that moment I was in shocked and angry , I said what is your happy hour list , he said if you want have happy hour price he pointed same dirty table and said move there. Just imagine Its our anniversary We are trying have few drinks and nice dinner. We walked out, and never going back there any more . 3rd of July 2017.

The one star goes to the water guy I gave the 20 dollar tip. Took my mom and grandma here for mothers day and it was a complete bust. Are food was mediocre not to mention served 1.5 hrs after we ordered it and watched 3 tables that were seated after us receive there food eat and leave. I have no idea how this place is surviving in old town. When I asked the waitress to bring me a bottle of champagne she replied are you sure you want the bottle lol I have eaten a lot of places and ordered just as many bottles of champagne this is definitely a first. Long story boring I will not be returning to this location ever in my lifetime and if I were you Id avoid the headache and eat at one of the other restaraunts in the area. Poor service except the water guy kept glasses full and always had a smile. All positive review going to that gentlemen and everything else is a poor excuse for quality.

Our first time visiting Old Sacramento along with this restaurant. I was impressed we will definitely come here again. Our experience was good. && food was delicious! We had Bruschetta to start it was good however bread little on hard side I would make a change there. But no problem we ate it all! My 2 year old had chicken fingers from the kids menu with fries & these were yummy. You can tell they are not from a frozen package. The fries are season and crispy, she loved it! My boyfriend and I shared the Fat City Pasta and OMG! It was AMAZING!!!!!! Straight out of the oven with lots of cheese. It was really a Fat Pasta! Our service was good and waiter was very nice.

This place may look all nice inside but the staff as a whole were all completely rude. They told us 15 to 20, to 35 min for food never mind having us already wait 20 min when the restaurant clearly had 10+ tables open just collecting dust. They said they only had two cooks in the back. Either tell your cooks to speed it up and cook better or hire more help. When we finally asked the waiter how long for food he said probably an hour. We stood up and just walked out. Sorry to sound immature but these people were a bunch of assholes. DO NOT eat there go to rio city on the water so much nicer and respectful staff!

After 30 minutes of waiting to place our drink order we flagged down a waiter. He mumbled sorry and got the manager. The manager brought our waiter with her and asked for our order. No apologies, just an excuse of being new. We were charged adult prices on our kids menu orders and once it was brought up, it was oh well just take 5 bucks off. It doesnt work that way. The order needed to be reprocessed, which did not happen. Though the food waa good the service was horrible and the over charges were ridiculous. NEVER COMING BACK! WILL NOT RECOMMEND TO OTHERS!

A favorite stop! My daughter and I often visit in old town to explore the area and found this place by accident. The pulled pork sandwich is DELICIOUS! My daughter (6yrs old), a notoriously picky eater, couldnt get enough of their food! Dont even get me started on those French fries.... super light, fluffy on inside, crunchy outside, almost tempura like. Making my mouth water as I write this review. Very friendly atmosphere, staff was attentive and on point. We will always stop by when were in town :)

Only giving 3 stars due to the fact that when I received my bank statement today, I was charged an extra $10.00 on top of what my agreed signed charge was. We left a very nice tip in cash for our server. So Im not sure if this is common practice for the servers to double tip themselves. Wondering how many more customers are being taken advantage of by dishonest practices. With that said, the food was great and the server was very attentive. Just be aware of what you are really paying for.
