I got to know Avanti short time after I moved to Pasadena back in 1989; and when the two brothers (owners) established Avanti Cafe on Lake & Union. Back then, not too many people in southern California had heard about Wood-Fire-Oven Pizza ! Choice of Pizza was limited to Pizza Hut and Dominos !! Now, and after quarter of a century, the Avanti restaurant on Sierra Madre Blvd. & Altadena Drive is the best place in Pasadena to have a nice Italian meal with great wine in an unpretentious ambience !

We had a great anniversary dinner at Avanti. Keith was an amazing server, very courteous and professional. We had pesto pasta and from the garden pizza, which were both delicious. The meal comes with several kinds of free bread, which was perfectly garlicky without being oily. I loved it and would definitely come again.

The staff was very courteous, the food was awesome...fresh pasta, great seafood, drinks were good, and had a great conversation with the owner...tried to talk him into building an Avantis Bistro in Provo...Thus is a place I will plan a trip just for the food...1100 miles round trip for dinner, well worth it.

Romantic interior, good bar. I had the rib eye, it was a little on the rubbery side unfortunately. My dinner-mates all enjoyed their selections—all some variety of pasta dish. Staff was ultra friendly and attentive. A great place to bring friends, family, and a special someone or two.

Come here almost every week. There is one thing here to order... The CHICKEN Shish kebab. With basmati rice, do not be fooled its simply the best kebab for the price. Great service in and out in a few minutes, usually order to go and its amazing super convenient and healthy

Great food! Nice ambiance could ask for anything more. Enrique was on point with his recommendations & definitely made this one of my favorite Italian restaurants. I arrived shortly before closing too. If you have a chance to go I highly recommend!

If you enjoyed Avantis first restaurant on Lake Ave, youll enjoy their newly opened restaurant too. The inside is more modern and spacious. The food tastes the same as before, maybe a smidgen better. The prices are reasonable.

Very nice atmosphere and a tremendously good Italian meal. This is much nicer than their original Lake Ave. location. Apparently, this is a second, more fine dining, Avanti. Thumbs way up.
