My husband and I stumbled on this restaurant and ordered the shellfish medley and swordfish. Medley is right - my taste buds sang as I devoured the mussels, clams, prawns and scallops in a broth - perfect for a cool, cloudy day. We could not get enough of the tasty liquid, sopping our bread in it and wiping the bowl clean. The fresh swordfish was grilled just right, and went very well with the baked rosemary potatoes and vegetables. We went back for dinner after kayaking for 3 hours, and ordered lighter fare, comparatively speaking. I love fish and chips, and try them out wherever i find them - Hong Kong, Sydney, San Francisco. A light, delicate batter coated the four generous pieces of fish, and I sprinkled the chips with malt vinegar, which is the way I like it. One of the specials that evening was the sardine bruschetta with diced mango, and this did not disappoint. With a bottle of chardonnay, we sat outside on the porch, partially enclosed by glass windows from floor to ceiling. The staff turned on the heaters to keep us warm and cozy. The next day we drove around the towns of Marina and Moss Landing, and stopped at a few restaurants to check out their menus but decided in the end to go back to Sea Harvest. This is a record, one restaurant for 3 straight meals. But we did not want to take the risk of ending up with mediocre food, and since we have had lovely meals at the Sea Harvest, why not? This time we ordered the mussels and clams in white wine - such generous portions!; a bowl of smoked salmon bisque - rich and creamy; grilled halibut with capers - slightly crisp on the outside, tender and moist inside. No wine this time, as we were driving back to San Francisco after the meal. Again, three excellent dishes, and we topped it with key lime cheesecake! My husband does not go for cheesecake, but this one he liked. Service: The service was attentive and friendly, not hovering; and we did not have to wait long for the orders. Prices: Very reasonable, for seafood. Considerably lower than San Francisco prices. Through it all we enjoyed the view of the sand dunes and the water, alive with birds, otters and seals.

Upon arriving at the Sea Harvest, it seemed to be a clean, very busy & smelled yummy! This was a special trip for my birthday...a day kayaking & then some fresh seafood, had me drooling all morning. A recent surgery prohibits me from eating much more than a few bites or suffer horrible consequences...this doesnt mean I dont want to eat & enjoy myself with my friends. We were seated and given menus, and then waited for quite some time? We placed out drink orders and an appetizer, The Roasted Garlic..when it came time to order I asked for the Childs Fish & Chips & was greeted with the most insulting tone and response I was shocked!! She looked as though I had just asked for a free meal, "We dont do that here", she stated with all the sincerity of the lobster tails on ice.."You can order an adult portion and take it home"..Okay, we all know that fish doesnt keep like that, & we had a long road to travel..phooey! I ordered the adult fish & chips, another friend had the Ahi & the other was a white fish, looked a whole lot better on the plate than it tasted in the mouth! We had also ordered some of their famous Clam Chowder, which must have been forgotten while our waitress was trying to adjust her attitude as it was never delivered & still we were billed for it. I have to say this special "Birthday Lunch" was the worst service Ive ever experienced in over 40yrs of eating up and down this coast!! I wish I had more nice things to say, only the baked garlic was the best part of the meal & being terminally ill & unable to cook for myself anymore, I COULDVE PULLED IT OFF!! Please Sea Harvest, get some more compassionate and friendly servers & dont rely on the view alone!!

My family and I have given this restaurant numerous chances to wow us...It never happened. In fact, during our last meal, we were shouted at and berated by the chef because my husband sent back a tasteless snapper dish. My hubby isnt the type of person to send something back, unless its simply inedible. He couldnt bring himself to eat it, so he told the waitress to remove the dish after a few bites. She ended up charging us for the dish, and my father in law requested that she remove the charge. I guess she mentioned it to the chef, who came storming into the dining area, shouting at us "I have a rule in my kitchen, you can only take 2 bites of a meal and send it back. You took more than 2 bites and now you dont wanna pay!". Now this embarrassment occurred in front of a packed dining (40+ people) area and his staff! We tried to reason with this chef calmly, but he wouldnt listen and continued to talk over the 4 of us about the "rule" of his kitchen. In the end, we informed him that we wouldnt be coming back to eat there again, and heard "Thats fine, I dont want you back here!". We asked to speak to the manager, and this unbalanced fellow declared himself the chef, manager, and owner of the restaurant....Uh, ok. We paid our bill (he took a whopping $4 off of our bill, "as a favor" to us!) and received profuse apologies from the wait staff as we filed out of the restaurant, angry and humiliated. As a bonus--my mother in law spent the night vomiting up her meal. I wouldnt send my worst enemy to this dump. What a shame, as its in a great spot.

Called to make a reservation for 10 for Friday night, told first come first serve but no problem at 5:45. My family (4) arrived 10-15 minutes after the first 6 and they refused to seat us with the rest of our party because we did not arrive together. There were 2 empty tables close to them so asked for them so we could at least be near them, the hostess refused stating the manager told her to put us over here (in a different room). We asked for the manager, again we asked for the 2 empty tables explaining they did not have to move them, he said "No" at which point I politely said "listen to me" so I could explain we were a group on vacation, he rudely and loudly said "No, you listen to me!! ...." at which point most of the patrons in the restaurant turned and looked on, my husband was totally appalled by his rudeness to me and his lack of customer service and refused to spend a dime at the establishment. Needless to say I will not be setting up anymore dinners here as I was forced to leave the very dinner party I had lined up. The best part of this was I went down the road and found Haute Enchilada, Excellent Customer Service and Fine Cuisine, just what we needed after encountering this clown. Also recommend The Whole Enchilada and Phils for Sea Food. I would stay away from Sea Harvest until they learn some customer service skills.

My wife and I have been eating at the restaurant for many years. I live in Marina and make the trip north every month. I used to enjoy stopping for lunch at this restaurant, because to food "was" great and the staff quick and polite. A couple of months ago something happened. Either there are new owners or everything has gone down hill. Last month was my first bad experience, but I decided to give it another chance, bad move. The menu is totally different and other than the name of the item, the surprise is when it arrives at the table. I ordered rock fish, and that sure was not rock fish. I have fished for rock fish and know the difference. My wife ordered prawns, and they arrived barely cooked and they were terrible. Needless to say, we will never return to this restaurant. Many of the previous employees are gone, and they were great. Maybe they saw the handwriting on the wall and fled. I know the new employees depend on satisfied customers for their paycheck, but one time tourist patrons wont pay the bills. Hopefully management will read and heed the comments, because there is always another business out there waiting to take your customers.
