Food is quite good for people who have never had Indian food. Food is not the only part of the restaurant though. When someone goes to an upscale restaurant, they expect to be served like kings and queens. Here it is a little different. You are served based on your "class" in society. If the owner thinks you are poor, you will be treated like a slave. If you look rich, the owner will suck up to you. I called the owner to sort things out but he verbally abused and harassed me over the phone. If the owner treats a 16 year old like that, imagine how he would treat others... Overall its a trap! If you get in, consider yourself lucky to experience something truly out of the ordinary here in the Bay Area! In other words consider yourself screwed... Overall 2 stars for food and 0 stars for service! Thank you Vedas Management for warning me not to come again!

I visited the place may 30th 2010..I give it 3 stars as I expected lot more choices in the Buffet. There was 3 meat (2 chicken , 1 fish) and 5 vegetable choice.(dal, chana, veg kurma, gratted cabbage, and mixed vegatables)...also...rice, tomato rice, naan, sambar.. The Food was well cooked, tasty and healthy, but nothing exclusive to differentiate vedas from others. In desert only gulab jamun and kheer..but both were tasty....Its well priced, and if u feel with a limited budget, for a limited food choice u can enjoy yr lunch, then vedas is a good place ..The place looks good and clean...The person below who gave 5 stars is over exaggerating and probably is an employee or relative.

I am surprised by the 1 star writers. I have been coming to this place for lunch buffet 6-7 times over the years, in fact I am going next week. We had large 10 people re-union lunch last year. Each time it was a pleasures, and my friends all say great! I used to go Bombay Garden often, now I am no longer working North of Fremont, I am closer to Milpitas, Vedas is my place. The food is very good to a Chinese guy, mind you, I know what a good Indian food should be. This is a smaller selection, prepared by chef Kumar, I met him one day and commanded him for making it less salty compared to other restaurants. Salt taste good, but it will kill us.

Tried the buffet today afternoon with my friend... decor is nice, it is very clean, service is nice as well... According to me .. food taste was average... Dal Makhani was no way closer to what it should be ... cut fruit pieces were too big., aloo-zucchini dish did not have the typical Indian sabzi taste to go with naan.koftas in malai kofta were missing ( i did see them coming 5 mins later).Being a vegetarian at present, did not try the non veg.. friend mentioned that Goat curry was good, chicken tandoori was okay... ...overall I would like to try this once more at the least...

Service was lousy. Asked for Tandoori Roti without butter and of course, it had the butter. Had to ask the waiter for another basket of Tandoori Roti. Had to ask the waiter for a refill on the water. Food wise, it was a hit or miss. I got the fried rice and the vegetable dish and they were both cold even though they were on the burners. The appetizers were so-so. Egg rolls tasted too creamy and not hot. Veggie patties were also luke-warm. Selection for vegans - not so good. And the price of 12$/person was way too high for this dive. Not going back ever.

We visited for dinner during our visit to SFO and was really amazed to see a neat kitchen while entering inside. Never seen a setup like that before..To our expectations the food we ordered was really awesome and also made as we requested. The staff was also really courteous. On our exit the cook asked us how the food was and if it was as per our request. Really felt good and they do care their customers. Highly recommended.

Excellent service and great food. I was first surprised the by the interior of this establishment, beautifully done with white table cloths and pretty art on the wall. The service was attentive but not overbearing, very friendly. The food was excellent, probably the best Indian food I have had in California. I highly recommend this restaurant. The only downside was the bathrooms... Clean, but could use and update.

Vedas is a real restaurant with a real chef. The quality of the food is excellent and on par or better than most of the other high-end Indian restaurants in the Bay Area. The pricing, however, is lower than those other restaurants. $10 for a gourmet buffet with fresh tandoori chicken and fantastic dal makhani, to name a couple. You cant beat it. The atmosphere is stylish/chic and is a surprise for this area.

I have been to this place twice. The overall experience has been good. The service was awesome!! I ordered Baingan bhartha, Saag paneer, Chicken tikka masala and Bhuna Goat. Saag paneer was the best of all... the paneer was soft. The food was not spicy but flavorful. The vindi kurkure was a treat.... very special stuff. Food is served on time, quantity is good. Ambiance is good. There are plenty of parking.

Tasty food, neat ambience, food was pricey. Place has a bar. With big tables taken by groups,it was noisy the day I went and management could not do anything about it. I was told that Mirch Paneer corn gravy is a must try. I tried and it lived up to the expectation. Rumali roti and Dahi papdi chat were also nice. Overall I felt the cost could have been less, but service and food were good.

I felt very uncomfortable eating in here. I was seated at this lousy small table where all the customers would pass by me all the time to get to the buffet items and when I asked for the check, it took the waiter 10 minutes for him to bring it over. I wasnt too fond of the food and it all tasted very oily when some of ex dishes werent supposed to be oily. Not coming back.

Was pleasantly surprised. Friends took me to this place. At most indians restaurants a lot of the food is similar especially in a buffet. They had a good selection of items in the buffet. The gulab jamun tasted bad but the others items were fairly good. Service is horrible but that maybe due to the fact we were there on a Friday afternoon.

It is been a while since I visited this place but when ever I used to go there, food was really good. When they opened their halwa was the perfect way you would get in Amritsar, loaded with ghee. That alone was worth going there. We also liked other items on their menu. Buffet had limited selection but good taste.

this place never fails. Have always ordered for delivery and each and every time its fast, hot and amazing. All the flavours are there without being too spicy, and I love heat. I Have tried all the others in north van and this is the best by far! Nice work guys

Probably the best Indian buffet around here. Can get crowded during lunch so making a reservation is better (particularly larger groups). Good variety of food for both veg and non-veg. Note: Parking can be a problem at lunch times.

Change prices on the fly if you order on the phone. Dont provide a menu to take home. Did not have the food ordered but did not inform us till we came to pick up food. Food is too spicy even when asked to make mild.
