One of the best tasting menus Ive had. Took my daughter & her sweetie to Ambiance for her 27th birthday. It was their 1st dining experience at this level, and my 40th or so (Manresa, French Laundry, Elizabeth Daniel, Louis Catorze in Monte Carlo (Michelin 3 star, black truffle-intensive), Le Crocodile, etc. The experience could not have been better. Excellent service, exquisite flavors and presentation, superb wine pairings, and most important, excellent pacing and portion sizes. Nothing, to me, is quite as annoying as paying $1200 for a 13 course tasting menu and being stuffed before the 1st game dish. At Ambience we had 3 terrific amuse bouches (The standout being #3, the Coos Bay oyster in some terrific reduction and liquid N2), followed by 13 courses (plus a chefs freebie, a terrific blue fin tuna tartare with flying fish roe & frizzled leak), paired with their premium wine pairing ($165/per person for the pairing, and SO worth it!), and when we finished the final terrific dessert course paired with a dessert Sauterne, followed by espresso, we were all 3 sated but not overfull/stuffed. Kudos! Who knew that Los Altos had a restaurant if this quality? Highly recommended. See pics, menu to follow (The 1st 3 preceded the 1st course - amuse bouches.

Peaceful atmosphere with exquisite food and wine. Only a tasting menu is available, so the only choice is which wines to pair with it. Then sit back and enjoy each artful course. Having enjoyed many tasting menus elsewhere, it was refreshing to be pleasantly full and not overstuffed at the end, since its a shame to waste any tiny morsel! The elk tenderloin and bone marrow potage were standouts.

This is the best tasting menu Ive ever had. Each course left you dying for more, and the wine pairings were excellent. Luckily the courses kept coming out, with each one seemingly somehow more delicious than the last. This restaurant was special in every way and I cant wait to return!

Really a special culinary treat. We both preferred this over a Michelin starred restaurant in London. Intimate, with beautifully plated, creative, delicious food. Michael treated us so well. Perfect for that special occasion.

Excellent food. The lobster and the passion fruit sorbet at the end were exceptional. Decor and service were also great. Very much a high end restaurant and on par with a Michelin restaurant.

Tip: High end, fine dining comes to Los Altos. The exterior is modest, but inside, youll receive personalized attention and a prix fixe meal meticulously created for you. Reservations a must.

The food is overly sophisticated and too pricey. Amazing service but the food was too complex. For that level of sophistication, I would prefer Baumé in Palo Alto.

Great food, shooting for that Michelin star. The premium wine pairing was very good, but probably over-priced.
