Went there and the tastei of the food was ok for an avg. Thai restaurant. The service was close to non to bad. If you read A Reddy posted on 8/20-- I had to agree. My friend and I actually gave them less tips cuz we feel we get no service at all and basically I felt that we had to beg for it. The mgr. chase us out of the door (while were already walking into Trader Joe to shop next door) for more tips. She totally embarrased herself and the whole restaurant. We probably gave us a bit less than 10% ..just felt that since they did bring us food...so they deserve some sort of tips but definitely not worth more than 10%. But for her running out of the door and fuss about the whole thing, my friend and I hate to argue on anything since she wont understand anyway (limited english that she knows). ...so we gave her some pocket change and said wat da heck! If the restaurant staffs or owner gets to read this post, they should do something about it. It just ruins the reputation for the whole restaurant.

The food is decent, but the service is unacceptably bad. When two of my friends and I finished eating we had lots of food left (about a third of each of the dishes was left), but before we realized it they threw all of the leftovers away without asking whether we were finished or whether we wanted to take it to-go. When I told them that we were planning on taking the leftovers to-go, they said, "We already threw it out." And when I asked why they didnt ask us first, they very unapologetically said, "Well, you didnt ask." They werent sorry at all and it didnt look like they even cared. In conclusion, this place is okay if youre starving and craving some average semi-authentic Thai food, but dont go here if you want to have an enjoyable meal with waitresses that arent constantly frowning at you.

In A Nutshell: -As I sit here writing this review, beads of sweat are slowly dripping down my forehead and the waiter continually replenishes my glass of water. -Americans are in love w/ Thai food. -I decided to try something different and ordered the Pad Prik Nhaw Mai (Bamboo Shoot & Green Pepper). -The bamboo shoots were better than I thought theyd be: tender & soft. I wish the ground chicken was a little more plentiful, but no problem. The medium spice was just enough to cause bullet point one above. Overall, Krung Thai is a small Bay Area family of restaurants and this is their Mountain View/Palo Alto/Los Altos locale. Delish as always.

If you want outstanding Thai food, you likely wont be disappointed. Ive tried a pretty good selection, and my only disappointment is with their (forgive my spelling) tom ka gai soup, and thats simply a matter of it being a little too bitter for my tastes. Everything else is great, and the pineapple fried rice is crack on a plate. Service-wise, they could be better, but I dont think thats why anyone goes here. It seems a bit better at their Winchester location, but I was a regular there when I lived in Santa Clara, so that probably helped. In the Mountain View spots favor, its generally less crowded.

I used to go to the Krungthai restaurants in San Jose, but this was my first visit to the one in Mountain View. The location was a little hard to find within the fairly large plaza. Its right next to the Trader Joes. The food was very good with lots of vegetarian options. When members of our groups started ordering tofu options, they even asked if we wanted fish sauce or not. I found that to be very helpful.

I love Krungthai and have been here for years. She gets even better with the new management. Signature dishes are Som Tum Thai (sweet papaya salad), anything noodles dishes. I also like chicken satay, cat fish with chilly sauce is also very good. I dont care for curries so much - my mom (she is Thai) makes better ones. LOL. Note: not good for strict vegetarian choice since they use fish sauce extensively.

Ive been here many times with a variety of people, and the reaction has always been the same: the food is excellent, actually good enough to overlook the poor service. If you have the patience for some waiting for your meal to arrive, and non-attentive service, this place has some fine curries, noodles, and soups that are well worth trying.

I went across the restaurant and the sign says authentic Thai. It is definitely not. Its more like a Chinese and Thai mix. Their taste is very average for their price and their lunch special has not much selection that is even decent. If you want something fast, go there. Otherwise, try Amarin Thai on Castro which is much better!

Pad Thai had *way* too much fish sauce, overpowered every other flavor. They asked how I wanted my Pad Kra Pow and I ordered medium - I like spicy food but in a new place prefer to play it a bit safe. Im glad I did - the medium was so hot it was inedible, literally the only thing I ended up eating was the rice.

I like this place. Food is always good. Curries are good. #131 mixed vegtables is always a hit. Tom yung goong is good. I often feel when i go to Thai food in Mountain View most places have no vegetables on the menu. What I like about Krung Thai is that they have a number of dishes with vegetables.

Thai food on another level!!! What I liked most was the service. My girlfriend and I probably got our food within two minutes. I forget what the dish was called but it was fried tofu in a garlic sauce...delicious. Final Thought: Were going back tomorrow!!!

Terrific curries, noodles, and pineapple fried rice. Absolutely huge portions - maybe 2x comparable places. The decor is tasteful but not too fancy, with nice Thai elements (awesome woodcarvings in the back). Service is quick, friendly, and familiar.

This place is most likely one of the best Thai Cuisine restaurant in the Peninsula of SF Bay Area. I like that most of meals are good, have a great size (you can always have something left and pack it to go) and very very reasonable price.

This is a good Thai place. However not all dishes are excellent. My personal favorites are the panang curry, basil chicken, and pad Thai. The ambience is standard. But overall I would recommend dining or ordering takeout from here.

Surprisingly fast, with a pretty authentic feel. Loving the pad thai. Ingredients used were different and fresh (good sized baby corn), and noodles were just the right amount of softness. Vegetarian friendly.

Good lunch menu. I always like to order their curries including the panang fish and mussaman curry. I love their spicy eggplant too. The service can be occasionally slow but it has been pretty good lately.

I have eaten at the restaurant a few times and have enjoyed the food. I just tried carry-out and was very disappointed in serving sizes --- much smaller than what you receive in the restaurant.

Very conveniently located in the same mall as Walmart and Trader Joes. That makes me visit them often. I have been really happy with the food each time.

One of the best Thai places in mountain view. Their peanut sauce is amazing. Cant go wrong with any of their curries and they do a good pad thai as well.
