Considering all the amazing coffee house options on Long Beach, Im not super impressed. The coffee was good and it has a decent atmosphere, but the service was not great. The barista was rude and unwelcoming. Also, its pretty obvious the owner takes the cheap route on things. There is a difference between "vintage" and "old" - vintage is cool, chic, and eclectic; old is outdated, dirty, and falling apart. Unfortunately, their furniture and decor is not vintage, just old. The coffee table I was sitting near was being held together by electrical tape, the picture in the bathroom has 2 holes in it and looks like they got it at a garage sale and hung it up without cleaning it, and whats with the cheap styrofoam cups? Im paying $5 for coffee and I cant get a mug, or even a nice sturdy cup? Just seems cheap and not very eco-conscious. Anyway, still have it 3 stars for the good coffee, the fact that theyre open late, and I can see what theyre trying to do. Its not BAD, and if there were no better options in town Id probably keep coming here, but Long Beach has no shortage of amazing coffee shops so I probably wont be back. They need to step up their game - theyve got a lot of competition!

I first heard about a coffee bar with a house cat and I was immediately intrigued. Its on a cute street with other local shops in long beach. Parking is easy to find in residential streets around the area. I went on a Sunday afternoon and there was an impressive amount of people. However, this isnt a coffee shop where you can chill with your friends and talk. Its definitely supposed to be a quiet place where people can work on their laptops or read. The walls are lines with overflowing bookcases and comic cut outs referring to the diabolical plans hatched by their house cat. The hot chocolate I purchased was yummy. The only complaint is their bathroom is a little grimy.

You can tell they dont sweep on the daily and I just (luckly) dodged a Roach crawling across my foot for the second time. It was killed by a customer who shared she witnessed the same yesterday. The place is pretty dim lit with a bunch of shelves and furniture around, the door is left open so a critter is kinda understandable but simple cleaning especially when you serve food is imperative. Also barista is kinda rude and theyre really cheap. Coffee shop living off throw away Styrofoam cups? Minimum $2 to use the wifi and a table? Paid over $2 for a can of soda. Smh.

Are u serious? Worst coffee place in long beach, watered down coffee cheap syrup tasting "specialty" drinks . The bagels are done horribly! they give u the smallest sample of dry cream cheese for u to spread yurself it doesnt even cover one of the halves of Your bagel. The chai latte are you serious? Tasted like stale sugar water and old cheap syrup. I will never come back here again. And for those about to go. You have been warned. The Chinese lady that runs it is a cheap a$$.

I came here for the comedy open mic and they wont give me the Wi-Fi password because Im not "technically a customer" but in my defense they dont sell alcohol and I also have a negative account balance. Luckily one of the homies hooked me up with the password so I could write this review. The bathroom also has a strict "customers only" policy so you have to do blow right out in the open which seems irresponsible considering there are kids here. 3 stars

This is one of my go-to coffee shops in the area. The staff is always very friendly, their pastries are made very well, and their coffee is tasty. They have a lot of seating but very few outlets, so charge all your devices before coming in. Ive never had a problem finding parking-its all street parking. My only complaint is that I wish theyd invest in cleaning their fabric chairs every once in a while..some of them have a not-so-great oder to them.

Been here plenty of times and I appreciate the relaxes, and mostly quiet, ambiance. The coffee is good and the pastries are delicious - the fruit tart never disappoints. There is an array of bookshelves full of books for you to browse and read at your leisure. Four stars because I dont always feel totally welcomed. Half of the time the customer service is right on point and half of the time it falls short.

Quaint coffee shop, with a variety of drinks and teas. Very cozy with unique seating and a community element. There is WiFi and a good environment to get some work done, or just some casual reading. Parking is a gamble on the street, and sometimes there are events that may or may not allow you to sit for long if youre studying. They dont answer their phones though, or if they do, they hang up on you.

what a gem! I love the library! its cozy, great lighting, neighborhood coffee shop. the prices are reasonable and there are lots of baked goods. I have seen so many kinds of people at the library since Ive been studying there the last few weeks - families, students, all races and genders. the place is very inclusive and community-focused. I am so grateful for a place that stays open so late too!!

Ive been going to this place for the last 14 years. It has always been a neighborhood hang out with great ambiance, good drinks and a fun place to crash, read a book and sip your tea or coffee. Fair warning, googles listed website is WRONG. That is for Portfolio - a competing coffeehouse in Long Beach. The Library is its own place on Broadway near Redondo.

Great variety of coffees and a small amount of snacks. The shop is an amazing viewing pleasure. A long beach stronghold of locals and abundant riches. Parking is not recommend, since it is a store front on a Blvd, but who cares. This is the bicycle city! Blocks away from the beach and shops, good restrooms and nice seats.

The older guy working is very rude. He was slamming things and cursing out loud. Saying that hes not making any drinks because the register is broke. It makes it a very uncomfortable environment. And all of this was at 11:15....45 minutes before the place closes. I guess I will be going someplace else for now on.

If you ever decide to buy one of their pastries double check it. One time I got a slice of their chocolate raspberry cake got home and it was covered in mold. Went back a month later thinking it was a fluke in the same thing happened. They do not watch their food at all. Absolutely disgusting.

Unlike Hot Java, was able to sit for 8 or so minutes, be greeted with a smile and then spend my money. Hot Java tossed me out, literally asked me to leave for not ordering fast enough. Library rocks. Has great service and cares about customers!

I love this place its one of my favorite places to hang out and read. The staff is awesome. The atmosphere and decor is unique. I like the mismatched chairs and the used books on the shelves it gives the place a nice homely and cozy feel.
