So I went to this establishment for the second time. First time all was great. Sadly this second visit was completely horrible. Service was not up to par as the first visit. Didnt seem like my guest and I were welcome at all. Server barely used more than one word replies and had sunglasses on while attending us even though she removed them for other tables. We ordered four sushi rolls and about 4 hours after leaving the table became incredibly sick to our stomachs. My spouse lost 2 days of work because of constant throwing up/dry heaving, muscle aches and head aches. Went to doctor and was told it was scombroid food poisoning. This is one of two food poisonings you can get from eating seafood/fish. Scombroid occurs when the food is improperly refigerated. Called and spoke to kristin immediately that same evening and she did not seem to care at all. Only thing she said was to call her the next day after doctor visit and that she would speak with the chef. Called the next day and she was never available. I then left a message for the main manager/apparent owner John, 48 hours went by without a response or care. Called back and asked for him but apparently he was too busy to care as he had Brian return my call. Brian did offer a free meal comp on a return visit and said he would email me someting to bring on the next visit even though this is not what I requested! Despite this he still never emailed me and it is now approaching another 48 hours after speaking to him. I am now going to file a fraud claim for the charge with my CC company as people should not have to pay for being poisoned. With an establishment of the praported caliber of this one, a refund for such an experience should be no problem, or maybe we are just not important enough clientele to keep happy. Either way I will never return here and will ensure as many people as possible know of this horrible experience as possible. Furthermore I will be speaking with family friends whom so happen to be attorneys and see if we cannot file suit with the doctors report for this gross negligence of food handling. At the least the health dept and city will be notified very loudly about this. I did my best to ask for an amicable resolution and these folks dont seem to care, so on to more pressing measures. Nobody poisons my loved ones or me and gets to ignore it!

A friend and I decided to try a new place today for breakfast. Well it ended up being a big mistake. We were seated promptly and told our waiter would be with us. Well as we waited I witnessed other patrons being seated and given water (we still had not been offered water or been approached by out waiter). We sat there talking awhile as I continued to observe how the other guests were being served. I was able to get the hostesses attention and mentioned to her we had not gotten any water but others around us had been served. She apologized and water arrived shortly. We placed our drink orders which took a long time to come. We placed our meal orders. However, I was disappointed there were no non-pork breakfast meat options. We had asked to speak to the manager upon expressing our disappointment with the service we were receiving. The manager came over and he was clueless about why I was disappointed. He claimed we dont just give customers water. I told him well thats not what I observed and overheard from the waitress that just helped another table. He said theres a water shortage. I said I understand that and that really wasnt my compliant if that was how all the other customers were being serviced. The entire time I "tried" to talk to him he talked over me and said I dont understand "why" you are so upset. I wasnt upset, I wasnt screaming I was trying to have a conversation with him and give him feedback from a customer. I finally told him fine. I understand now why the service is so bad and we would be leaving. He missed out on our order for the day. In addition, to that he missed out on potential business from organizations that I work for and volunteer that host events/dinners/lunches etc., from time to time in Long Beach. I will not spend my hard earn money in an establishment that does not appreciate "me".

Was there for a wedding celebration with a party of 15 (with reservation). We had one server. We waited an hour for our food to arrive, and when it did, some of it was horrible. We didnt get any attention while waiting or any status or apologies. It was obvious the kitchen and server were not capable of handling a party of 15, even though they knew we were coming. It was obvious some of the food had either been done too soon and sat around and overcooked just by looking at it. One dish was just some thin noodles and tomatoes I think, I cant even remember now, and 4 ir 5 "medium" shrimps, was ordered by a few of us and the shrimp was shriveled up and looked all dried up. The tails were actually burnt, and by the way, was way overprized! I think this alone was $29! No soup, salad or anything else with it. I could have boiled the pasta at home and added a couple of shrimp for a few bucks and would have been better. Once we were finishing, they started landing on the table trying to clear it as quickly as possible even though we were still finishing. Then we get a bill for almost $500 that had the automatic 20% tip. No wonder the server didnt bother with us. She knew she didnt have to earn the tip! How disgraceful! Should be ashamed! We didnt return food because it was a long day and we were starving and didnt want to make a scene during such a special occasion. So that was the bad part of our day. So if you want good food, service and value for your money, this is NOT the place to go.

Booked a reservation yesterday for our aniversary, asking for a nice patio view table. Did not see the note at the bottom of the booking that said resetvations do not apply to the patio. Arrived to be told that we needed to wait for 25 minutes. Mentioned our reservation and that we were celebrating our aniversary, after the host asked if it was a special occasion. We were told to wait in tbe bar. After 25 minutes we asked the host if he had forgotten us? He asked...what was your last name? Then, once he realized that he had forgotten us he rushed us to one of the worst tables on the patio. Next, we were greeted by our server and mentioned the poor seating. No offer to change seats. She did seem very pleasant so we relaxed. She also asked about a special occasion...again we mentioned our aniversary. She ignored the comment. The food was great and the service fine until we wanted to leave. We received our check which had an extra $31 worth of drinks listed that we did not order. We now waited another 15 minutes and had to ask someone to send our server over. She finally came and corrected the bill. Overall, we love the place. Been there many times but.. we would suggest that the staff pay more attention to their customers. Many people who experience this kind of treatment would not return.
