***SE HABLA Español *** A group of 4 of us conducted a social experiment where we visited bars as non-English speaking patrons. Imagine yourself, having a full blown conversation in a language other than English, in a predominant white neighborhood, with a great deal of tourist. Ordering beer, finding out the happy hour specials, ordering food, all in a language other than English. What would you expect? well, heres our experience Review Killarney Pub & Grill! this bar was the second bar we visited on our streak of bar hopping, and it gets a 4 Stars review ** ** (read our review for the first bar- PERQS) and our 3rd bar (Boat House) Again all 4 of us sat at the bar area, loud and talking Spanish with each other. Even though the bartender was busy, he made sure to make eye contact and acknowledge us and to just give him a minute. Again after pointing to what we wanted, in this case a huge 32 ounce jug our bartender went above and beyond to try to include us and making us feel at ease. He asked what type of drinks we would like to order in the jugs we said 2 "blue moons" and "2 - 805s" ( OCHO-CERO-CINCO ) he got it right away he was not making fun of how we said it, our accent or otherwise made us feel alienated, which felt pretty darn good to know that if someone actually did came to Killarney they will be taken care off. We ordered food with the universal sign of "fingers together pointing to our open mouth ...lol.lol again he was prompt to tent to our needs asking constantly if we needed something else with tumps up. At the end, before leaving the bar we came clean to Ron, telling him that we where doing a social experiment to see how people will be treated when they are non-English speaking, and that he passed with flying colors. He took it really well he was not upset he was laughing and actually gave us cards to write a review... THANK YOU RON Overall Ron, our bartender was pretty cool, he was inclusive made us feel welcome and the drink prices and food were good too.I would definitely recommend Killarney Pub & Grill.... Ron will take care of you.

****HORRIBLE SERVICE****NEVER EAT HERE**** Oriental Ogre Waitress was miserable the entire time, non-hospitalable what so ever!!!! Made a nice breakfast on a Sunday morning HORRIBLE. We ordered, then asked if she could just break up our bill, her reply was "No we dont spilt bills on big parties" we had 6 people!!! Whats more ridiculous is the table next to us had at least 8 people and their waitress brought back like 4 folders to the table meaning SHE SPLIT THE BILL. So I asked their waitress if she indeed split the bill, then comes our Ogre of a waitress rudely interrupting and saying "O they asked for it to be spilt before they ordered" So she lied! She Said We can not split bills of parties more than six, but yet the other waitress did, all she was was a lazy a** b***h! Honey if you cant handle a table of more then 6 then quit your day job and stop making other peoples day miserable like you! Manager didnt help much, I got him over there and he just took the bill not knowing what to charge with what card, and charged one person over half the BILL on hers alone!!! causing it to decline!! Heres a tip, Split the bill Dumb Dumbs!! stop making it so much harder!! Oh then again they add gratuity already to the bill of "such a big scary party" So I guess there is no incentive to get these ogre girls to give at least 70% at their job!! I will be talking to Fire Marshall down their to make sure the owner is all up to code and I will be checking on all of his licensing. Thank you and have a wonderful day:) See thats not so hard is it:)

The tall white bouncer is about the worst bouncer i have ever seen. I am a succesful business man and i have been eating and drinking at this pub for about two and a half years with my father, mother, wife and three brothers atleast twice a month. My wife and i stopped by after we had two cadillac margaritas and two shots over the period of two hours, keep in mind it was our only night out in months due too having a 16 month old and he has the nerve to stop us from coming in because he stated my wife was stumbling. One, three other places let us in after this, two, im a business man that makes over 300,000 a year and this place was half full on cinco de mio, one could guess why. Its because of a 6 foot 4 door man with nothing to show for his life. He is a two pump chump loser and is holding back this place from being successful. Oh and did i mention right before we went to walk in, some nasty under age girl puked all over the floor right in front of the bar? We are regulars and he does this? We left and came back just to tell him what a pile he was and he shook my wifes hand and apologized because he knew she wasnt drunk. Even after we had a couple more shots at three other bars. This is not the place to go for a good time if he is there. Muffin was the best bouncer but he quit because of this loser. Be forwarned vacationers. This is a local warning you. Do not go there if he is there.

LOL at the review prior to this one. The one where the person was called an "an Old Hag" I have no doubts that what they say happened. I walked into the bar at about 1 AM. A young gal was flirtatious with me and I offered to buy her a drink. She was probably around 25-30 and I am a single male, 45. I went to the bar to order drinks a and a female patron asked me how old I was. I politely said that I was 45. She and her white knight male friends asked to see my ID. I told them that it was none of their business and she said that I shouldnt be flirting with a 25 yr old girl. She was furious over it and the bartender asked what was going on. Next thing I know, I was asked by the bouncer to leave. I have lived in the area all of my life and was a law enforcement officer in Huntington Beach for 12 years. I guess they want only a 20ish type crowd in there. Pathetic, to be treated in such a manner. I wont be going back and I suggest that if youre over 30 yrs. old that you stay away.

I went there last Friday night. I have to say .I had a great time up until it was time to leave one of the staff members named santos was pushing me out the door and I fell. Then he had the nerve to call me an old hag, I do not know what kind of people they are hiring theses days. I have been going there for many years and have never been treated in such a way. No member of the staff should ever be permitted to lay hands upon a patron, or speak so crudely to them. The only one who was nice enough to help me up was the door man Leo who was very kind to me . I hope the owner does something about him.
