Went here today with lot of expectations seeing 4 star review by Google reviewers. But really disappointed with the food. I think most indian restaurants survive cause of lack of taste buds of the foreigners. We call goras, whites. I saw lot of Asians as well. I mean of chinese, vietnamese origins. Lets start with the food first. They have a mixed Vegy potato item with large pieces of potatoes, the pieces I had on my plate are mostly undercooked or should I say half way cooked. The Vegy rolls are ok. Samosa over fried in oil, also fillings taste terrible. Lets move on to next item what is more like the gravier version of mixed Vegy items tasted ok, but left me with a after taste, which makes me wonder the dish might not be as fresh as I thought would be. Tandoori chicken was pretty good. I didnt bother to try any more of the gravy item after the mixed Vegy medley. And now off to dessert, gulab jamun supposed to be cheese ball dipped in sugar syrup, but they were more like flour ball dipped in sugar syrup. I did not taste any cheese nor milk. Its more like mayda ka Gola what we Desi would call. The carrot halwa was more like meshed baby food with carrot and sugar, and finally the mango custard was the only thing I would like to try again. So if they offer me free buffet only then I might go back to try. Tandoori chicken, Naan and mango custard. Nothing else. Thank you. Rest you all enjoy what you are made to think indian spicy food with no spice level at all goop..... Its been few hours since I ate there. I think I have mild food poisoning. Cause my stomach is all bloated gassy, and I am going to the restroom for the second time in just few hours. Not sure if its the blessing of your restaurant, cause since then I had ate nothing.

Bombay all the way! Mumbai or die! Full belly from Delhi! Yesterday was my first ever visit to the hallowed halls of The India Restaurant. Ive heard great things from Indians & non-Indians alike in regards to the culinary offerings & lunch buffet offered here. One of my nuclear medicine specialists said The India Restaurant "makes food just like home." What more impetus do I need? The decor was very nice. I found the dining area to be cramp, which might pose a problem during the busy hours, which I assume would be the lunch buffet & dinner hours. White table cloth & glassware are a nice touch. Food selections, I found somewhat lacking. In my opinion, there werent many options available. The food items that were available, were tasty & a melange of different flavors in exquisite union with each other. Tandoori chicken, aloo ghobi, dhaal were some of the highlights for me. Of course, naan is the perfect vehicle to sop up all the juices. Low-carb, this aint. The dessert bar had gajar halwa (carrot dessert), rice pudding, fruit something or another and the diabetic nightmare known as gulab jamun. For those that are in not in the know, gulab jamun are deep-fried dough balls (think donut holes) drenched in syrup & I believe rose oil. My high blood sugar didnt appreciate it, but I took my glipizide-metformin so I should be good. All in all, I liked The India Restaurants lunch buffet but didnt love it. I would recommend it for fellow foodies, especially those that havent dined here before. Having great company made the experience that much more delightful. Cheers

We have been to this restaurant few times as my family members liked the vegetarian food. Yesterday, my niece took us here for her sons birthday lunch around 2 PM. Food was not that great. We were served dry & burnt nan. I requested the waiter to serve nan with butter bur in vain. Waiters were not courteous. I met the cashier and tried to give him feedback that nan can be served with butter and in the menu or the waiter can ask whether the nan to be served with with butter or without butter. But the cashier told me that only for Aaacarte nan is served with butter and during buffet customer can ask for butter and butter will be given in a dish and customer should spread on his nan. It didnt make sense to me because nan is not that very hot to melt solid butter spread on it. Whenever I went to this place, it was predominantly occupied by Indians but the cashier didnt want to give credit to us for supporting his business but told me that his major clients are non-Indians and the food is designed for their taste which is a blatant lie.

Wouldnt this be a hard restaurant to find since its called The India Restaurant? I mean theres a ton of other Indian restaurants in Cerritos and Artesia but I guess this place has made a name for itself and apparently people can just find it as The India Restaurant. Just wondering... The place is really great for Indian food. Ive only been here for dinner time so everything is clean and pretty. I wish I could come by during lunch to see what its like for buffet style. Typically we order garlic naan with chicken tandoori and some type of masala. It is a bit on pricy side for dinner but its a nice place to relax and the service is great. Their mango lassi is thick and yogurty. Not as sweet as some places but it tastes great. We usually order extra rice. Parking isnt too bad at night. We only had one time where we had to park on the street other than that, it was okay.

Food was good...but the restaurant fell in esteem, when I checked my credit card statement. I had written the total including the tip amount in my copy of the credit card receipt. The statement showed one dollar more. The point is obviously not about a dollar, but that restaurant would disregard my assigned tip and put its own amount, is UNACCEPTABLE. Ensure the amount in your statement is same as what you signed for in the credit card receipt.

Probably the greatest Indian food Ive ever had in my entire life. The garlic Naan was delicate and smothered in a glistening sauce. Masala was... well, I never had it before so I cant really judge it. Overall, a satisfying dinner. The meal was a bit pricey though at slightly under $20 considering I skipped on ordering a drink and had water instead. This place seems to be best used for an occasion to celebrate.

The food specially the non-veg is bland. The tikkas are not soft and white from inside meaning that it has not been marinated well. The outer colour is orange which again is not a chicken tikka colour. The restaurant loses its indianess in modifying the taste to suite the local American population. It needs to give more attention to the recipes than just low priced buffet.

The Indian food here is on point. Its more of an upscale Indian restaurant compared to all of the other Indian restaurants around there. A tad more pricey, but well worth it. I love their chicken Masala! Its usually hard finding parking on that street and many times youd have to park on the street...but I can always find parking here since they have their own parking lot.

Been to The India Restaurant a handful of times for their lunch buffet and Im a better person for having done so. Quality of the food is top notch and its even more amazing that they can do that for a buffet. Plenty of vegetarian options for those of you who keep away from meat, yet plenty of chicken and lamb to keep meat eaters happy as well. Great value for great food!
