I ate here Sunday, June, 9th. Our server was nice and recommended a few items but I decided to go with the crab cakes. The wait was not long for a sit in restaurant to get our food. We were given dinner rolls as starters to eat while we wait for our main entree. The two pieces of bread looked good but after grabbing one I realized the one I grabbed was cold. My friend I was there with got the other roll and his was warm and soft. This means they either bake them all at once and then save them or they are bought from the grocery store and warmed up again. After about a 15 - 20 minute wait we get our food. Right from the start I notice the steamed vegetables are almost dry and overcooked. I eat a few veggies and then decide to try the french fries I got as a side. They were worse than fast food fries and these fries were previously frozen for sure. The crab cakes were 2 small and thin little discs that were on top of a shrimp cocktail type sauce. The cakes were topped with this mix of cantaloupe and melon that was not sweet at all and the mix was more sour than anything. The sauce and melon mix did not help with how salty these crab cakes were. I ate one crab cake and the other I had my friend try. He agreed it was also very salty and he also tried the french fries I got which he also agreed were definitely frozen because they did not taste good whatsoever such as not seasoned nor flavorful. For what I paid for at this place and the location, I assumed the food would have been of higher quality. I am a big fan of Seafood and Asian cuisine so I am not sensitive to salty or fishy foods. There were a lot of other restaurants we could have chosen from. The environment of the place was nice such as the large open windows to look out to the ocean but the food I received was awful.

Came here yesterday for the first time and the service was subpar. Thought it would be a better experience than La Costanera but I was disappointed. It is bigger though when it comes to seating. I ordered the Halibut Veracruz but it taste old and bitter so I was asked if I want a new one or order something else. I thought she went for a break before coming back to get my new order and I already lost my appetite. Then I ordered their Scottish salmon and it turned out ok. My 4 year old only had chicken and fries but I have here the last 3 pieces of my salmon and Im not sure which was it that she started throwing up on our way home from there. When we got home, she threw up 6 times more that I was afraid I might have to take her to urgent care. Not a good experience. I think you can get more value of your money somewhere else and still have a good view of the beach.

Really dont know why this place had such good reviews. It has a great location that and I think that its the only thing going for it. I usually dont post on these things unless it was exceptionally good or exceptionally bad. The service was the worst Ive ever had. Waitress was absolutely awful. Never said hello just asked if I was ready very rudely. Did not bring my iced tea until halfway through the meal. Asked her for a refill and didnt get it till after the check. Gave me the wrong ticket that was over twice the amount and didnt even apologize for it. Was very rude and it felt like I was bothering her just being there she helped other customers that were seated after me first. Took over an hour to get a hamburger and they werent even busy. I overheard the table next to me and they lost a ladys credit card. I wonder if they ever found it.

1. We sat outside and asked for patio umbrella. For 20 mins nothing happened, checked 2 times and they started putting umbrellas to 3 more tables before they put one on ours. Was almost verge of discrimination attending to other guests first who hadnt even asked for it ! 2. They are not kid friendly. The waiters were not at all friendly with kids. They acted as if why kids are there and why are they asking for ketchup & some small stuff here and there. 3. I asked for 3 desserts to go and they gave one spoon with it. When kids opened dessert at nearby beach , we had one spoon. Imagine how we dealt with that, I had to go back walk 10 mins and ask for more spoons. The manager was not even apologetic & said its an over sight. Really ? You can call anything as "oversight". Never going back there again !!

Nice atmosphere but Food was underwhelming. Had the shrimp & scallops with linguine...no flavor, scallops were boiled in the broth instead of seared, and the shrimp did not taste fresh at all. They are a restaurant by the sea...the assumption is that their seafood will be their specialty & fresh. TOTAL disappointment & totally NOT worth the price. Service was ok at best. Felt neglected. Had to remind waitress multiple times to bring water & bread. Did not get a refill on my coke until my meal was over & she even refilled it incorrectly by refilling with ice tea instead...that was an irritating surprise. For this price point the food and service should have been better. I have paid less money and gotten better quality food and better service, than I did here tonight.

Lots of claims that the food is great, but theres not a single fresh and local item on the menu. The salmon claims to be Scottish, but why would you have frozen salmon shipped in from a continent and an ocean away when theres fantastic *fresh* salmon available right across the damn sheet. Same with most everything else on the menu. Nothing fresh, nothing local. That being said, they do a respectable, workmanlike job with what they have. A few of their ideas are even inspired (avocado/mango/lime salsa), but theyre held back by mediocre execution (the acid in the lime juice causes the avocado to turn to mush) and ingredients. Service was fine. Nothing special, good or bad. Drinks are absurdly expensive.

Must have been the time of day, just after lunch rush hour, when the staff was counting their tip money. Came in with my parents, didnt get any attention, and had to go to the bar to order something. Again being ignored for a few minutes I finally order something. Initially got the wrong order (2 thee instead of cappuccinos), and when my 2 cappuccinos and 1 latte arrived, the cappuccinos were so horrible we immediately left (mine was semi cold, and my mothers tasted awful). 1 positive point: the location is great, and the terrace is overlooking the ocean.

Classic California Coastal dining! Great atmosphere across from the beach. Cant decide which I like better the outdoor patio or the rustic interior. Either way, the service is outstanding, the views are fantastic and the food is great. Lots of seafood as youd expect plus good sized steaks - the surf and turf is very popular. Ask for the special vegetarian menu if thats your request. The patio is glassed in and has firepits for chilly days. Oh, and on certain days you can catch the live pianist playing a wide range of classic and fun songs.
