This place is new, so I imagine Ill be able to re-review it later on. Our 1st visit had us standing at the door next to the Pls Wait To Be Seated sign for about 10mins when a big group of ppl came in n were seated right away... before us...that was a bummer. The bar stool seats have no backs so you get uncomfortable after a while. Weve been back about half a dozen times and Sampled various menu items. . Steak was good, mashed turnips rather than mashed taters was a bit disappointing, but tasty enough regardless. The grilled Caesar was good but the smoked trout was wayyy too salty. The crab cakes were good..the other cakes (lol) were tasty... the hamburger was delish, as was the slightly-too-oversized-for-the-patty bun. My fav meal was the Trout (not smoked) dinner w polenta n an amazing sauce...it was seriously to DIE for!! They are often out of menu items and the drinks are small for the price. The wait staff is really friendly and its super awesome to have a nice place to go in Springfield. I would recommend giving this place a try. Were hoping they figure out the drink dilemma bcuz its nice to be able to have a drink out on the town w/o being taken advantage of. I loved the Jalapeno Margarita but it was too small for the price. The prices changed from one night to the next, as well. For now Id prob recommend the beer. Were gonna pop in tonight for St. Pattys and see whats cooking. Best of luck to this new, busy little restaurant! !! :) Im sure theyll work out all the kinks!!!

Yes, Springfield needed a pub. And perhaps for the locals, this is a fine place. It has a nice mural of Ken Kesey on the outside. They give a passing nod to Odd Fellows via naming a beer after them. (As an Odd Fellow, Id say thats a dubious honor.) It is clean and the beer is acceptable. The decor is the same old obligatory black and white photos of the local important community members, the walls are made to look rough. However, a soaring ceiling that makes every sound ten times louder, a not so great thing when small children are present. It takes more than good beer as far as I am concerned, to rack up five stars. As I often eat at pubs, I can say that the really good ones have one thing that the others do not. Customer service and wait staff who care. I did not see this here. So, three stars for this pub. Id give it two, but the beer was decent. Note to brewers: there are dozens of brewers out there brewing decent beer. We went out of our way to eat at Plank Town today. I wont be going out of my way to eat at this pub again.

My wife and I had brunch here on Sunday. We started with he Bloody Mary. A little too spicy for my wife, but I loved it. Served with multiple garnished. Next time we will ask to make it more mild for her. For brunch, we shared three things, which were all equally great: The Scotch Egg, which came with an amazing sauce, then we shared the Biscuits & Gravy, and not just any gravy, peppered bacon gravy! And not just any old biscuit, "Irish cheddar and chive" biscuits! OMG! SO GOOD! Finally, and we were pretty stuffed already, on the recommendation of the waiter, we had the Chilaquiles, which is pulled pork on succotash (I had to Google what succotash actually was) - well let me tell you ; "Thuffarin Thuccotash"! it was great! Definitely not something I would have normally ordered based on the decription, but so so glad we did! It has tortillas in it, in a mild tomato sauce with cheese. Yum! Definitely coming back!

Let me start by saying if you are kosher, non-dairy, or vegan or vegetarian, good luck eating here. PORK PORK AND MORE PORK, seems to be the motto. Started out great, with a free beer on Fathers Day! We asked for non-dairy options for my wife who is nursing our 8 month old son who is sensitive to dairy. We were told that was not a problem, they would hold the things with dairy out. We got our food, and it had butter on the side, and still had the horseradish sauce that has dairy. We alerted our server. He apologized, but said it would be 20-30 minutes for them to fix it. They offered a kale salad, and asked what dressing my wife would like. She told him the dressing she would like. 10 to 15 minutes later her salad came out, and we were told they cant substitute a different dressing, so she got the one she didnt want. Orange with ginger, and my wife hates ginger. Awesome. We wont ever eat here again.

Plank Town is a hidden gem of this part of Oregon. Out-and-away from the teeming masses of the college area, this place has a unique air about it. Offering up amenities of true mixology at the bar, & entrees that would wow even the most erudite of palettes, it really is something to see. For example, on the menu youll see things like succotash, rabbit, steelhead, & calamari - each casting their own balanced ethereal elements onto a throwback classic. And the drinks? Oh those classy refreshing liquid miracles of main street; how they anoint the tastebuds with the effluent of inebriation! Also: live music. Yep. That happens too. Tell Anthony I sent you.

I use to love the weekend brunch at plank town. We went 7/23/16 and did they get a new cook or new management maybe?! My garden omelette had peas and corn in it (gross), my husbands over medium egg had a completely hard yolk, our home fries were perfectly brown on the outside but not cooked through on the inside and our $8 bloody Marys had ice filled to the top of the glass and then made (I watched the bartender make them) so it felt like we barely got a drink. And I recommend not changing a good thing: the berry butter was really good, the blueberry butter was not. Our $45 breakfast for two was less than impressive and we probably wont be back. :(

If youre there for beer or other drinks its fine. Atmosphere is fun. Every time Ive been there the service has been slow and boarderline rude. Every dish Ive tried has been lackluster, tasteless, and not cooked correctly. Their "gourmet" house made ketchup is horrible but dont ask for another kind because they get offended and get rude. Fries are often served cold and burnt. They also see it as an offense to request salt or pepper but they sure dont use much seasoning so its needed. The only reason Ive been more than twice is co-workers whove planned gatherings. Dont think Ill be returning unless its strictly for beer.

Surprised that such a cool place like this exists in Springfield! Nice location downtown Springfield. Has great ambience with cool seatings (wood farm tables, benches, and some high tables and chairs). We only had drinks and appetizers so cant say much more about their full menu; they did seem to have a good variety than are $10-14 an entre, can seem a bit pricey. We tried the garlic herb fries because it sounded good but was a bit disappointed that it was slightly over fried bar fries with just minced garlic dumped on top ($7!). Good selection of non-alcoholic drinks like lavender lemonade and it tasted great!
