This location is One of the oldest known constant presence in Fremont right opposite to where Big Cinema was once. Though they call themselves Dosa Hut they do serve some other south Indian delicacies also. To be frank, for some reason I never got satisfied with what they serve be it dosa, chutney or sambhar. The dosa will always be pretty plain in taste I mean the salt will be little less than usual, the chutney will be watery though they give it to you in a very small container, the sambhar will be a bit sweet and not tangy. The sambhar vada will be a bit harder than usual, in short the food wont be bad but it will be a borderline average. Not the place after which you will have those midnight cravings when you wake up to check yelp for their opening time but more of a fallback restaurant when others are closed for lunch. Overall its a 1 star restaurant 1 additional star is for their price that seems affordable compared to other places.

One day I was bored of life. Bored of everything. Wait thats not right. I was just bored of the food around where I live. I tried Amazon Locker once and when I tried to pick my stuff up I found this place. The name caught my attention, especially since Dosa in Indonesian means sin. Hmm.. Yeah probably there arent any relations. Anyway I went in and told the guy straightforwardly. I dont know what I want. What do you recommend me? He asked: Do you want Dosa? Eh, sure, why not. And Im glad I did. The food was good. Its basically some kind of pancake filled with veggies and meat. It was quite spicy though, so if you dont like it, beware. I personally love it. You eat it with the mint and brown sauce that comes with it. Will definitely go back.

Dosa Hut is a great place that you must try as you visit the other top-class Indian restaurants in the Fremont/Newark area. Kind of a hole in the wall - small (maybe around 30 people max), but excellent food. The south Indian thali is fantastic - the quantity of rice served is plenty and you get a multitude of curries with it, along with chapati. Most of their combos are worth it for the cost - the paratha combo is one that I enjoy. Only reason why I gave 4 stars is because of cleanliness and hygiene - bathrooms are not so clean and to be on the safe side, you probably want to bring your own water or order mineral water instead of the water thats in the vessels. Other than that, a great place to have authentic South Indian food!

Do not call here for Onsite Dosa Service for you parties Period. Dosa Hut take the order an our sources to Amma Resturant. And its not guaranteed that you get the same Quality of food as they offer at this restaurant. When I ordered for my party I have got pretty oily food, and service is delayed by hour, and then all the items are not available for 30 more mins. I have tried talk to the manager, but they are not even ready to listen. Talk to Owner and he is pathetic, no common decency on how to treat a customer. Do no rely on these people for your party. You will regret.

Food was nice and fresh. It is right in the alley between the Cine Grand theater. Good and easy location and noce interior. The only downside is that I wish the restaurant was a little bigger. It was too cramped and awkward to move around when people are right next to you. Its not like a traditional hotel where a waiter/waitress come and take your order; instead you order and they give the food. Which I felt was nice. Overall, a nice hotel to go to for the night.

Not at all worth...went for breakfast...couple of guys were there behind counter...very unpresentable... SHOCK was after ordering a Dosa and Coffee this guy asked for cash or if card is used he said he will charge .40 cents extra...what an unprofessional and cheap behavior... FOOD - Coffee was like water and Dosa is ok...not something exceptional.... Experience Visiting to this restaurant was #cheapthrill

I went with my family, kids were very much attracted by the clean ambiance, and the wall papers took us to the Indian streets. They got a special menu for kids. I appreciate it. masala dosa and rava dosa are my favorite. southindian thali is also very good. I feel it’s a best place in Fremont for south Indian food. I often visit here. I like their service.

NEVER eat in this resturant, today I went their with my family to have lunch and guess what? I found 2 cockroaches in my plate. They were in my masala dosa in an "almost dead" condition, their body was squished and the legs and feelers were still moving. I DO NOT recommend this resturant, the Dosas may be priced low but at what cost?

The main problem with the food was that it was too expensive for the amount of food that we got. The pictures on the menu are not what you actually get. When we asked the cashier about the menu, he said that the pictures were "just for display". However the little food that we got was fresh and tasty.

One of my friends recommended this place to me. I ordered for Idli, Masala Dosa, Pesarattu, Rose Milk. Didnt like any of them. The chutneys didnt taste well too. Rose Milk was too liquidish - felt like syrup in more of water and less of milk. Overall, I was quite disappointed by this restaurant.

Food is great and authentic, great table service. Very reasonable pricing. Ambience and interiors can be better. Ordering process can be improved by placing foot markers for queue and some guiding placards.. Just a suggestion since I have seen few ppl getting irritated because of this.

Dosas are good. Coffee and tea are waste of money. Spoons usually not available on the table. Glass smells like never washed. They charge 40-50 cents for cards under $10 while card companies usually charge 5-10 cents per transaction or even less. Overall good taste in their dosas.

I asked for some thing and they have something. Chutney is worst. I used to be regular customer. They do not change it. Not at all healthy food and not worth of spending on mushroom with full of cheap oil or vada dipped in sambar. Its of morning one they serve later.

They have nice dosas. The Madras Coffee is really good. I strongly recommend their Uttapam dish. It is a nice South Indian restaurant with vegetarian food that even a meat lover will enjoy. I also recommend you try their Idli.
