Saturday evening dinner. Place was very empty, so it was nice and quiet and you could really enjoy the "garden" atmosphere. My friends and I, three of us total, sat at the sushi boat bar, and we were the only ones there for at least half an hour. It was our first time there. Unfortunately, the sushi boats contained 95+% rolls featuring mayonnaisey / imitation krab salad, and that was a huge disappointment. After finding only one plate containing real fish, I resorted to having to place an order for nigiri of maguro, hamachi, and saba. Unfortunately no toro, which I find to be the norm in the south bay :-( The nigiri was excellent! The hamachi was the best. Finally, the chef put out three dishes of sake nigiri on the boats. By this time, there were two other parties also sitting at the bar. I took one of the sake, then as the boats came around a third and fifth time and no one touched the other two, I took them at the third and fifth go round, respectively. Again, the nigiri was delicious. I would have given a higher rating if the boat bar had a much higher percentage of traditional sushi than the 95+% of mayonnaisey / imitation krab salad dishes that were out.

Terrible services from our original waitress, except toward the end of our meal another waitress took pity on us and provided us with kindness and attention to our needs and eased the bitterness the other left on our tongues.. Of the six meals ordered first came a tempura and teriyaki chicken followed fairly closely (three minutes) by the family style combination dinners for three members of our party (teriyaki meats and tempura), Seven minutes later my Sukiyaki arrived followed five minutes later by my daughters vegetable tempura. Did I mention the customers were my family and would have actually enjoyed eating together during our belated mothers day celebration? The food was decent except for my Sukiyaki which was meat, noodles and onions only? The web sites lists the ingredients as beef, noodle, tofu and vegetableS. The original waitress did not even want to give me a bowl of rice and claimed that what was served was the correct dish. The ratings are regarding my meal. The whole experience was horrid and I will never return to Kobes and will tell my friends of the worst Mothers day dinner ever,

My family loves this place. Great atmosphere, never crowded, predictably solid (though perhaps not spectacular) food. Not as many of the trendy sushi rolls you might find elsewhere, but thats not really our style. Weve always found the wait staff to be attentive and they quickly picked up on our regular orders, including all of the exceptions we like to inflict on them. Our 3 year old really likes watching the fish and they usually give him some fish food to throw in the pond. All in all a solid family dining experience.

Loving and attentive staff! Especially at closing! We didnt realize that we were there so close to the closing hour. This was our first time there, it was my bday and were not sure where to have dinner. Since I was in the mood for seafood, I googled and found them. Loved that it was sushi and they had sushi boat! They didnt rush us. This place was so great, that it even impressed my fiancee who rarely like to eat at Asian restraunts. We enjoyed ourselves and will return!!!!

We ordered two ramen, but they were just instant noodle. Its a fake japanese food at all. I asked the waitress how come you restaurant served instant noodles, pretended as ramen, she was embarrous and did not denied. Thats why there were no Chinese even Japanese customer when we arrived this restaurant at lunch time rush hour on Saturday. Highly NOT recomman to this so-called Kobe Japanese restaurant.

I love sushi, and I love this place for their prices. They dont have very big rolls, but the prices are very good. About a buck per piece of sushi. The atmosphere is pretty good and it isnt too terribly loud. The setting is a little more of your Japanese style artwork, which is a bit nicer than some of the places around here. All in all, this is a good place to get good sushi.

I was really hoping for sushi that was as great as the service and decor. I did only order 1 roll, so it may not be fair to post an average 3 stars. They did just open up for the day. There were a couple things that I did want to try, but I was in a hurry and needed to go. I would definitely try them again if I am in the area again. One roll can hardly sum up the whole menu.

The sushi is simple and decent. The sushi is pretty "cookie cutter" with nothing special unless you order a specific one from the chef. The plates on the sushi bar a little confusing--go by shape and not by color of the plate. Great atmosphere with a bubbling brook and Asian flute. Also, if a corporate traveler with AMEX, they will take your card here.

Great sushi place! I am in there all the time so often that when I enter they immediately make the item I order every time. The staff is extremely polite and attentive. I have always loved their sushi and the quality of the entire restaurant.

We go to Kobes every Friday night for sushi. We sit around the sushi bar and get plates of food off of the boats going around. If you dont see any thing you want, the chef will make what you want.

This is the most Ive ever paid for fake crab. I love the decore -- nice koi, foot bridge, sushi boats. But the food and service were middle of the road. I really wanted this place to be better.

I had lunch here almost daily when I worked right across the street. The restaurant is simple, but is perfect for lunch. The service was excellent and the salmon was always fresh!
