A delightfully surprising experience. We had no expectations - we were merely looking for a convenient restaurant near the El Cerrito BART Station - and happened upon Noodles Fresh. Not only were we struck by the unusual (especially for a Chinese restaurant) attention to detail (the decor; the ceramic plates, bowls, teapots; the menu items, etc.) but we were treated very well throughout our time in the restaurant. We enjoyed our food, which had a pan-Asian flair to the dishes we ordered. But most of all, we enjoyed chatting with the co-owner Tom Petersen who with his wife came up with the ideas for the restaurant and operate it day-to-day. Tom is a very well-educated, well-traveled man with an obvious fondness for Asian food and culture. He combines this with an appreciation for classic jazz and a knack for conversation. We hope to visit Noodles Fresh again very soon.

Came here for dinner with my parents. Didnt really know what to expect from this place given the decor is very East meets West. How often do you find classic Chinese tea sitting next to bottles of red wine? After getting seated we very quickly found out that despite the appearance, this place serve some traditional Chinese noodle dishes. My parents and I all ordered a different noodle soup with a salted duck on the side. All of our broth was very flavorful and everything in it cooked perfectly. The owners were also very friendly and came around multiple times to make sure our meal was good! All in all, loved everything we had, and I would love to come back and try some of their other dishes.

I love this place. Ive never had a bad dish here and the decor and ambience is quite nice. When I first ate here a year ago the service was sometimes spotty, but its matured a lot and is now reliably very good. Highly recommend the red tea, the Sichuan chili fish noodle soup, the Taiwan beef noodle soup, the Guilin beef stew, and the very impressive Hainan chicken. The dishes are well-seasoned and distinctive. Two people can have dinner with apps and a drink for $25 each. Not bad at all.

The food is simple in concept but executed so perfectly. Im rattling my head trying to figure out how the chicken was so crispy yet light. It was very cheap and even cheaper for a beautiful restaurant with delicious food. I wonder if they make their noodles in house because they were a very good consistency. Im really glad I stumbled here!! But also I need to find out how they cook their chicken. Ill be back!!!

The Petersens new Chef is a magician, playing with all the many rich, pungent and spicy flavors available to traditional Chinese gourmet Chefs -- not to mention he knew just how to get noodles to our table at the exact point of perfection -- covered with stir fried delights that only many years of experience could produce. This restaurants prices and friendly service make you feel part of the family!

Food is amazing- but CAUTION when parking in their lot! My rear car window was broken into and my trunk rummaged through. The lot does not have enough light and I suspect their lot was being cased. A thief can take their time in this lot as they know youre eating your dinner and their is not enough traffic in and out of the restaurant to deter them. I will be parking on the street next time.

Fresh, quality ingredients and friendly service. Ive been back a couple times and everything Ive had is good. The onion pancakes were on point. A good addition to a sweet little zone that I like to call the noodle belt. Easy on the bank. Place is larger get than it looks from outside. Bright and clean, simple decor. Nothing we had was greasy, and service was good.

I tried one of the Jiangxi noodle plates, the south east asia chicken noodle soup and the Taiwan beef noodle soup. Everything was flavorful and nothing was greasy. Owners are really friendly and the vibe was chill. I highly recommend this neighborhood gem!

Delicious and unique food from southern China. The owners are really friendly and go out of their way to demonstrate their vision for the restaurant, and it really works. The parking lot is small, but its close to BART and El Cerrito Plaza.

Good, authentic Chinese noodle dishes. Table service, not fast food, everything seems to be made fresh to order. Most of the dishes are very yummy but dont expect American Chinese food. The owners are nice, and a little chatty.

Only got my water refilled once, the older Asian lady told they were out of tea, when is an Asian restaurant ever out of tea? Anyways,i like spicy food but they overdo it on the onion and garlic sometimes.just a heads up.
