This was without a doubt the worst dining experience we ever had. We went for Valentines Day and even though we had 6:30pm reservations there was a line to check in with no hostess in sight. It turns out they were bussing tables as the restaurant was woefully understaffed (more on that below). After waiting 20 minutes, we were seated outside under a broken heat lamp. We asked to move and were given an inside table which was perfect. We didnt see our waiter for a while as he was covering both inside and outside tables so it took a while to order. When we did, we started with the Wedge Salad which was fine. However, our entrees were downright awful. My wife had the free range chicken that way overcooked and totally inedible. I had the seafood medley (the house favorite supposedly) and the seafood was lukewarm at best and very fishy. At this point, I asked for a manager and complained that our dinner was awful and our Valentines Day was ruined. He mentioned he saw the chicken and agreed it should not have been served. To his credit, he did comp the whole meal but we only really ate half a wedge salad each for dinner. I cant believe this restaurant is highly rated for special occasions as there was no sense of ambiance for Valentines Day with the staff running around, the long waits and of course, inedible food. Hostesses shouldnt be bussing tables and then placing dirty glasses/dishes on a free table since they didnt have time to take it back to the kitchen. My waiter shouldnt be covering the outside tables on one side of the restaurant and also my table on the other side of the restaurant inside. When I asked the manager if he had staffing issues, he claimed he did not and they were just busy. Well sir, you need to better prepare for busy nights and no, not all restaurants look like yours on a busy night. Our Valentines Day dinner was ruined and I am so sorry I chose this restaurant. Please do not make the same mistake I did.

My husband and I were walk-ins midweek. The hostess was very sweet and promptly sat us (and the view was amazing)! Our waitress was quick but almost missed our order for calamari as she walked away. Calamari was not crispy, and was served in long, thin strips (not my favorite way of preparation and presentation, and the taste was so-so). I ordered the Cannons Caeser and it had NO FLAVOR, even with chicken on it. I probably ate 5 bites. The bread rolls served before the meal were actually great though - warm, crispy outsides and soft in the center. But Im not sure I would choose to eat here again. Pricing was fair for seafood. Side note: The waitress serving the table behind us was loud and could have used better language..."s**t" is probably not the best word choice for a nice atmosphere, and kind of ruined our table conversation because we couldnt shake off her voice. Eh. Side note 2: Go to the CHART HOUSE next door - MUCH BETTER!!!

Dined at Cannons for Mothers Day. We had reservations, but still had to wait about 25 minutes. We insisted that we had made reservations, but the older male hostess apologized, but admitted they were overbooked. They seated us at a table for 4 and pulled up a chair for the 5th person in our party. Not the ideal view, although we had made reservations and had waited so long. The food took a long time. They ran out of glasses, and they apologized for bringing out smaller glasses, which had to be refilled constantly. When a table came open for 5, we asked to be moved---they did not accept to move us. Food was just ok--nothing to hype over. Overall, I would NOT recommend this restaurant to ANYONE. You can find a similar view at other So Cal restaurants, and not risk the horrible service and attention we received. Especially on such a special day.

Was hoping for something a little more today... (better service, cheerier people, special menu etc.) on Easter, but sadly no. Thanksgiving dinner has been really nice when weve come, so I thought wed give it a try on Easter. I should have tried somewhere else. Service was slow, 20 min to get a menu. Food was tepid when served. Mango salad was soaked in dressing, the scallops and crab cake dinner, were overly sauced and missing a scallop, and the orders were wrong. Guess she should have written down the orders. Garlic fries and fish and chips were really good though. Should have really given only two stars but the third was for the gorgeous view that was avsiable from almost every seat.

We have eaten at Cannons 5 times and every time it has been deplorable! Our food ... has never been brought to our table hot or even warm. We went there tonight to give it one more try and let them know in advance of the previous issues and sure enough they had no prime rib that wasnt overcooked and the entire meal was a disaster ! I will never return or recommend Cannons to anyone unless they want crappy food and crappy service ! Gregg the owner is a complete idiot and has no business managing a restaurant !!! The only redeeming part of this restaurant is the view!

We held our daughters wedding at Cannons. It was amazing. Most guests commented on the food, the view and the venue as contributing to the best wedding they have ever attended. The staff was very attentive and very organized. We chose buffet style and worried about the choice when we knew there were about 150 people attending the wedding, but it was organized so well that it wasnt a problem. The only shortfall is that the wedding had to end at 10:00 due to noise regulations in the area. Thank you Cannons!

spectacular view...great food and excellent service. romantic setting perfect for a special date, dinner with friends, or family get-together. beautiful location for a wedding and/or reception the managers are wonderful...they go to tables and talk to their guests and make sure they are being taken care of. the combination of service, food, and the view...made for a very personal and enjoyable experience. TWO thumbs WAY up for Cannons!

the view is amazing, the coconut shrimp were delicious, and the fresh ahi was to die for. perfectly seasoned and seared to perfection. i uploaded a picture of it (not before a taste, check it out. everything was FRESH, had great flavor (flavour), AND was perfectly prepared. it is on the pricey side, but what restaurant of this type and with this view wouldnt be. would recomend to anyone who loves seafood. Happy hour on the terrace, used to be very nice experience however now the portions have gotten so small its not worth the experience of the nice view. Have gone there a lot...wont return. I will add that the help was very nice...not their fault that the food portions have dwindled. Great coconut shrimp if your only looking for a small taste. Nachos were very cold and simply an embarrassing display of an appetizer.

We had a fathers day dinner there today and it was our first time there. Unfortunately we never going back it was a really bad experience. They forgot our appetizer, 10 minutes after taking our order (which we had to wait forever) we found out they dont have prime rib, so it was a mass. When we asked about the bread basket, we were told we only getting it if we ask for it. Are you kidding me?
