Honestly probably not worthy of a true 1 star but the service was so bad I had to write something. My family reserved a table several days in advance for a table Friday evening (not necessary) for 6:30 and werent told there would be a show or any special pricing. Bouncer shows up and lets us know (half hour-45 min before the show) that its $10 cover and that our party of 6 was in a popular spot. We offered to contribute $20 for the table even though we were there to dine and not listen to the band. "Oh I dont want to take your money." Figured thats that. He lets us know again when the band started playing early (7:15 we were told it started at 7:30) that we should hurry up because they want to seat here. AGAIN, we were told leave at 7:30 because they wanted to seat. So in total we were approached 3 times within 40 minutes and we had the table for an hour. Realize, there was NO LINE outside and no parties waiting to be seated. I dont know what their deal was. Maybe its par for the course for Cotati. Food was decent but as greasy as youd expect from a place like this. Cant believe we were rushed when surrounded by empty tables, bouncer was clearly not a service guy and had no business talking to diners.

Sooo cozy and romantic. If the weathers cold, they have a fire going, and if its warm they have awesome outdoor seating. The heavy wood interior has a cabin sort of feel. Seriously awesome tap selection and awesome happy hour specials. The menu is extremely varied but every dish theyve put in front of me has been fantastic. They also have excellent coffee drinks. The hardest part of being here is deciding what you want to get, because everything is so yummy. They are vegan-friendly, too! The staff is awesome. Everyone is so nice and attentive, and theyre all cheerful, which to me says theyre enjoying the work. They feature tasteful local music and open mic nights that always impress me. Standards are high. If I had the money and the time, Id be here every night. I love this place

This is my first review and I want to start providing feedback to the Google community that I use on a daily basis. What I ate: Mushroom, onion, bacon omelette and coffee. While not being a coffee connoisseur I do enjoy a morning cup of coffee. The coffee I had was sour and unpleasant. I drank the first cup hoping it was just the pot. Unfortunately it had the same sour taste that I could not manage to drink. The breakfast I had was okay, nothing fancy and not bad either. They do provide a large portion for the price. The omelette was slightly dried on the outside though. Overall the food was okay, but avoid the coffee unless this was a one off for them. The staff is friendly and nice.

I went there for my first time yesterday (8/9/15). I have a very limited diet, and when I go to restaurants, I am usually that annoying customer that makes changes to the existing menu items in order for me to have something I can eat. The Huevos Rancheros here has black beans, brown rice, eggs, salsa, and jalepenos. I can eat all of those things and I didnt have to modify anything. Plus, it was really good. The eggs were over easy and they were perfect. The brown rice was cooked perfectly. The atmosphere was very relaxing and there is a lot of room outside to eat.

The food is always fresh and well prepared. It is usually pretty busy but they seem to get the food out pretty fast. They have all been really polite and friendly every time I have been here. I didnt eat all my pancakes one day becuase I was just to full and a nice older guy I think is the owner was very concerned if there was something wrong with the food, he said if I didnt like the pancakes he would get me some fruit or something else. The pancakes were great I just couldnt eat anymore, but I thought it was nice that he noticed.

This business should warn patrons that their car will probably be towed from the lot behind the building. The property owner is having cars towed from the lot behind this restaurant.. .with a cost of $370 each time!!!!!!!!!. Express Towing is trolling the area while people are sitting down for lunch! This lot has been open to the public for the last 20 years and weve been parking there many, many times before, and no issues. .so whats up with that!! We wont be coming back to this restaurant until things are remedied.

Attended your comedy night on Friday Aug 8th, first time I have ever been seated next to a giggling pre-pubescent boy during very Adult comedy. It was uncomfortable to say the least but the topper was one of the "comedians" using him as a prop to hold an alcoholic beverage. Wow, if this is normal practice for Redwood Cafe I will never return. Must not be too concerned about the youth in our community or your license to sell beer and wine. What a disgusting waste of money.

Delicious food. The atmosphere is relaxed even at their busiest times. You never feel cramped in their large dining room and outdoor tables. I love the gas-fired franklin stove. On chilly, damp winter mornings, the warmth from the stove is always welcome. The interior is rustic. Free refills on coffee in an actual ceramic mug. And, the free wi-fi is a wonderful extra. I recommend this place to all my family and friends.

I was seriously and surprisingly Shocked!! I walked in and loved the layout, the outdoor tables and the setting is perfect for evening seating. I ordered a healthy salad from the extensive menu and it was EXCELLENT. The Service was very nice and personable! My lemon tart from Costeaux Bakery that I purchased was delicious. I cant wait to come back and bring some of my friends. I highly recommend this place.

This place is as solid as they come. All they do is turn out consistently tasty food and great prices. My in-laws live in Cotati and I grew up in nearby Santa Rosa, and its been great seeing Cotatis little downtown grow over the years. Its still an small Ag-town, quasi college town with Sonoma State nearby, but places like Redwood Cafe just make it feel like home every time Im visiting in-laws or my parents.

The basics about the Redwood Cafe: 1. The ordering process is confusing and annoying. Theres no table service. 2. The indoor seating is kinda loud. 3. The service is SUPER FAST, even on the busiest days. 4. Its dinner food, eggs, burgers and sandwiches. All of its good! 5. The patio seating is really nice on a cool day. 6. Easy to find with plenty of street parking. 7. A great selection of craft beers.

Favorite breakfast place, veggie scramble and eggs blackstone are two dishes Id recommend. Lunch/dinner is great too; I really like their sandwiches. A few years ago they added a stage and many more drink options, including a lot of good craft beers. A liitle on the expensive side but great food, you pay first so uou can just leave when done, and great options for those with special diets (like vegans).

I love this cafe. Its been my go to place with friends, especially for breakfast, for 20 years! When it first came to town, I thought it wouldnt make it because so many had tried in that location and failed. We just needed the right thing! It has improved and improved as a local treasure.
