I moved to Chatsworth six years ago. For the first two years I lived here, I frequented this restaurant. They had a consistent staff of employees, food was always quick even though the restaurant was always crowded, and wait staff was always polite. A few years ago, things started to change. Service areas were not as clean. Wait staff changed and became surly. The restaurant started to be empty at times it was full, and despite plentiful numbers of wait staff, food took a long time to arrive. Pick up orders began to be wrong frequently. I started going to this restaurant less often as time went on. On my last six pick-up visits in a row, none were correct. At least one thing was wrong with each order. And to "make up" for it, nothing was offered (such as a free meal). Even when I dont discover the order is wrong until I get home, they would not offer something to make up for it.

Took forever to get service, wasnt the hostess fault she was the only one, but what ticked me off is that they "have to charge me extra" if I order off the kids menu. I order the same thing at every IHOP I go to, and Ive never heard of this mysterious surcharge that is a "company policy" all of a sudden. I ordered from the kids meal because its smaller portion and I dont like wasting 12 bucks worth of food. To sit there and say that because Im not 12 years old you have to charge me more? What ever. Ill go somewhere else.

We had dinner here the day after Christmas. It ook us almost 45 minutes to get our food. When I asked the waitress if everything was alright in the kitchen? She said 1 of the cooks did not show up Christmas Eve and still has not shown up. Those things happen in the restaurant business but what really bothered me was , the katchup was watered down! How to cheap can you get.

Very disappointed in the food. Was served warm not hot. Coffee warm. Quality was poor. Pancakes were served in a small salad plate. No way to add syrup. Told Waiter but he could not do anything about it. The waiter did his best. Not a good experience at all and we will never return. Also, one paper napkin is not enough for people eating breakfast.

IHOP is about as close as you can get to a diner experience on the west coast, with very few exceptions. Feels like home to this east coast native, in lieu of the ubiquitous Greek diner.

This IHOP is pretty good. The food is usually tasty and not undercooked, and the service is above average. The staff is usually friendly, and quite welcoming.
