We love going to Bistro Ka! The fish is always very fresh, and their presentation is great. We love to stop in and have a few rolls at the sushi bar, and they have a very nice private dining room that we use for large family gatherings. I have not tried anything, thst I did not love. My kids are constantly asking us to bring them to Bistro Ka for sushi or bento meals. Their house salad dressing is really incredible and quite addictive. The chefs are all very friendly and helpful when you are not sure what you want. I did deduct one star after my last experience at Bistro Ka. We went there to celebrate our anniversary, and the hostess ruined the experience for us. When we entered we waited to be seated, as is polite and customary in sushi bars. The hostess, Dominique, asked if we wanted a table for two. I said, "No, we prefer to eat st the sushi bar, please." She rolled her eyes at us and said, " Just go sit wherever". As we walked towards the sushi bar she actually started mocking me and laughing at me. I believe that her behavior was very unprofessional. I went over to her and asked her to write down her name, and at first she refused. Then she wrote it down. We decided to stay and eat, instead of leave as she was staring at us and making us uncomfortable. Our food was awesome and the sushi chef was very charming and funny. The hostess made me very uncomfortable, and we ate quickly and left. It was not the anniversary meal, thst we were hoping for. This was the first time in the many years we have been going to Bistro Ka, that we have had a negative experience at Bistro Ka. I loath to say it, but the experience has us kind of avoiding the restaurant for now.

I went here a couple of years back and thought it was excellent. The sushi was supremely fresh and the quantities and atmosphere were great. I went here last week, and it has changed drastically. The quantities are very small, its as though they cut the rolls into regular sized pieces, and then cut each piece in half and served it to us as if to dupe us into thinking they were generous quantities. When we entered the guy who sat us told us about the happy hour deals and when we sat down we were given a happy hour menu by our waitress. When we tried to order from the happy hour menu, the waitress apologized and said it was for the sushi bar area only. How ridiculous is that? We were pretty upset To sum up: Used to be great, food quantities were abysmal, quality was mediocre. The atmosphere of the place is excellent though. Wont be going back

Ate here 12/26/07, Lousy service with multiple delays and mediocre quality of food. Traditional BBQ chicken looked more like a stew or soup with way more veggies than meat, Spider roll did not appear as it did on the menu. My brother arrived a few minutes early and asked the hostess to hold a booth for us. By the time I had arrived, she had completely filled all of them. When I asked her where my brother was, she was well aware he was waiting right outside another entrance for me. We were seated at the far end of the restaurant, just below a speaker with too loud music. The temp. in the restaurant was also very cold, I kept my coat on the whole time. Would NOT consider eating here again.

Had dinner tonight at Bistro Ka for the first time and I couldnt be happier to have found such a great place. The sushi was fresh and delicious (I especially liked the Ka Tempura Special roll, which was salmon, avocado and cream cheese covered in tempura and fried... Delicious!). The service was exceptional and they were very attentive. And to top it all off, the prices are very reasonable. It also helps that the restaurants decor and ambiance are very modern; perfect setting for a romantic dinner or a fun sushi night with friends.

I always forget to write reviews for this place because its in the basement with absolutely no reception (such a shame for a nice restaurant and i cant share my excitement when I have good food. But this place is fantastic, almost everything on the menu is good. The only complaint i have is that its quite privy for its portion. I guess thats a common thing for LA Japanese restaurants.

Sushi was pretty good. Sat at sushi bar and they were nice. Server was slow and I could hear all the workers in the back joking and flirting loudly. I must have been the only person in the place, but it was quite unprofessional. The guy at the sushi bar poked his head in back to tell them to Shhh. It sort of helped. Service unfortunately overshadowed the food for me.

Kid friendly and lots of options for the non sushi eater. Came here with the family and I always feel guilty because Im the only sushi lover in the bunch. However coming here there were lots of both entree and appetizer choices other then teriyaki and tempura. Katsu, gyoza, izayaka sticks and sushi was pretty good. Just a little pricy

I have been to Bistro Ka hundreds of times over the last few years, only for happy hour. Its nice having happy hour on the weekends (4-7pm on Saturday, all day Sunday). The food is very good, especially for the the price, and the servers are very friendly. The ambiance is nice - Asian inspired upscale lounge.

The food taste was good and fresh but they did not roll it well enough so the minute we were grabbing prices it was falling apart . And literally killed enjoying our lunch. probably the chef had no experience what so ever with how to make sushi .

There wasnt many people when I went so we were attended quickly. The waitress was nice and patient with us while we were deciding what to order. The food was delicious and tasted fresh, definitely coming here agin.

Great Japanese cooking at its best, there is no denying that this place is pretty much up there with their stylish servings and amazing meals. One of the best in town.
