I live here in Santa Cruz, and I realized I had not been to this place in many years, so I have been meaning to give it a try. We dropped in yesterday for lunch and sat out on the deck overlooking the beach and river. We had no wait to get a table on the deck despite it being an absolutely gorgeous day. Service was excellent from the hostess to the waiter we had, but I had a couple minor issues with the food. I ordered the El Pastor taco plate, which was $14. I think my main complaint was that this was just three tacos for $14..... I had to pay extra to have chips and salsa, and I had to pay extra to have any beans and rice. By the time I got done, our meal was $40 and we shared one plate. I had a beer and my wife had a iced tea. This was just a snack with one drink and that seems steep to me. So, just chalk it up to a tourist dive and realize that it hasnt changed after all these years. Nice location but there are so many great Mexican places in Santa Cruz, that the location is the only reason to go here. Food was good but not great, and overpriced tourist fare.

Went Friday evening for a night out with my husband and decided to check out how the renovation panned out. We sat on the deck under the heaters and were well taken care of by the staff. My husband enjoyed his shrimp diablo plate and I was very pleased with my chorizo tacos! The chips and salsa were so good that we decided to even head back here for brunch on Sunday morning. Since it was a bit foggy out we opted to sit inside this time. The contemporary feel inside in combination with the romantic views were just as good the second time around and so was the food. We sipped on mimosas and shared the french toast and heuvos rancheros dishes. We definately approve of the changes made by the new management since the last time we had dined here and plan on coming back a lot more now!!

Ive been here many times because I live down the street. People are right, the food is mediocre and way overpriced for quality EXCEPT for the nachos, they are really good! Also, the margaritas are good but you should opt for the more expensive ones. My favorite is the Hectorita made with 2 shots of tequilla and fresh squeezed lime juice served on the rocks in a tall glass for 11$. The atmosphere is very pleasant on the outdoor seating area on a sunny day. The service is also really good! They can get extremely busy on the weekends so you should be understanding if its slow.

Thieves be aware of your bill!!! I go there on Tuesday 5/16/2017 for lunch.I pay my bill with my credit card & leave a tip (10%) once transaction post to my account a few days later, I see that the waitstaff took it upon themselves to add extra to the tip. (Took $15 extra) When I call back to fix this issue with the owner she does want to correct the issue & make it right. Check your credit card statements after you visit this establishment & save your receipt(which I did) or better yet dont get scammed & enjoy a meal or drinks at a respectable establishment.

We were very excited to check Margaritaville now that it has been remodeled and is under new ownership. The food was very good. We especially liked the tacos and the oysters with champagne mignonette were the best weve had. The servers were very friendly and brought our kids meals out very quickly. We look forward to returning once they have their full menu in place and enjoying their beautiful ocean view again.

They have excellent margaritas and tacos. We come here almost weekly. Their taco tuesday and happy hour is solid for the location. Staff is friendly and service is prompt. The bar is gorgeous, and the outdoor area has beautiful views of the ocean and creek, and heating lamps for cool beach evenings. Try their house marg or the jalapeno-cucumber margarita!

Hostess sat our family of 4 in the back corner of the patio tucked behind the most foul-mouthed bunch of people Ive heard. It takes a lot to offend me and I couldnt wait to get my kids out of this place. The food and drinks for happy hour were ok but there wasnt a chance to enjoy them when your rushing to leave the entire time.

Margaritas were good but not $11-$13 good. Food selection was small and unimpressive. They did get the chips and salsa thing down and does have a good view if you sit outside. Doesnt hurt to stop by for a drink but would recommend going to the other restaurants around it for food.

We love this place. Came down to Santa Cruz for a day trip and remembered our great experience last year, so we drove over to Capitola. The Baja Tacos are delicious. We also had great oysters, beers and a lovely set of Crab tostadas. Pricey but delicious.

As a local, Ive been going to Margaritaville for years, and I have to say, I love their steak tacos. The tomatillo sauce that they put on top is amazing and being able to enjoy the ocean breeze and have a great meal, makes for a perfect experience.

Its more simple after they reopened. The food is okay, drinks are good and the staff is fun. They view is lovely when you sit outside. I dont know that well go back, but I can definitely see why others would. You have to check it out for yourself.

Awesome staff. Thank you Sergio for great service. Dog friendly. I celebrated my 50th birthday here and it was a blast. I love to sit out on the patio with the view. Its the first place I go to when I get to Capitola. I would highly recommend it.

Delicious food, great staff, the patio is right on the water with excellent views of the bay. The patio is great even when its chilly they have heaters. They are also eco-friendly, they stopped using plastic straws and now use paper straws!! ♡♡♡

I love diversity here... to the people, the food and the music. I would definitely choose this place over Santa Cruz any day. Negative part was the strong smell of sewer right in front of some restaurants.. food and sewer smell do not combined.

The food is very good but its quite expensive for Mexican. Very nice ambiance. They did a fantastic job when they remodeled. Ill tell you a secret... They have better margaritas down the street at Zeldas and Paradise Bar & Grill.

Nice place to get dinner and drinks in Capitola! I had the Branzino. It was perfectly cooked and delicious. Next time, I would request a table on the balcony overlooking the ocean. Great place to enjoy a dinner during sunset.

Quiet pricey. We ordered hot chocolate, carrot cake and chocolate which tasted heavenly. There is outdoor seating where you can see the beach and colorful capitola homes. Warm ambience. Would definitely go again.
