I ordered biscuits and gravy to find a neon blue piece of plastic--about the size of a pencil eraser. I showed it to the waiter so they could keep an eye out for it on other plates coming out of the kitchen in case there was a bigger problem. About 5 minutes later the manager came up to us and told us we were wrong and it was actually a piece of sausage. And made no effort to apologise or rectify the situation. I let him know that I had never seen sausage that color and he proceeded to tell us that he actually never saw it and that is just what he was told by the cook. First of all, you never tell your customers they are wrong. Second, take time to look for yourself. If the cook threw it away and didnt show you, it is probably because it was plastic. I will never go back there and will never recommend it to anyone. Very disappointed.

My wife and I love this restaurant. The homey decor, the large portions and the warm and friendly customer service all add up for a great dining experience. The pancake breakfasts are huge and delicious and the large mugs of coffee fit great in your cold hands. Weve visited several black bear diners and were even signed up for the passport program that allows you to get a stamp in your booklet from each individual location. My wife loves the club sandwich and I like the burgers. If youre looking for a place thats a notch above Dennys but still affordable, this is a great place to get lunch, breakfast, or dinner.

I used to go to this place for lunch occasionally on work days since it is walking distance from my business park where I work. I like the food but the service isnt always as fast or as friendly as we would hope. One such occasion, I was with my co-workers and we tried to order our food with french fries but they ran out of them, they offered us "fresh potato chips" instead and I couldnt help but wonder why the potato chips were fresh but they didnt have fresh french fries if they are both made out of potato. Needless to say I do not eat here too often anymore.

Both times we came here we had odd/uncomfortable experiences. The food was ok but not amazing but what threw us off was while the staff was polite enough to us they were constantly bickering with each other and clearly upset with each other. It just felt like watching strangers yell at each other which creates an awkward atmosphere not conducive to enjoying a meal. We have been thinking we may try again soon and see if we just had bad luck or there is new staff now since its been a while.

Just opened, nice and inviting place, fun to go with the family, my kid loved carved bears and fire pit outside. Food is what you usually expect from Black Bear - classical comfort food - burgers, meatloaf, grill fare, ribs, fish and chips, salads. Portions are huge, thankfully have an option to order downsized or kids meal, good price, fast service, friendly people. Will stop again.

The food was okay but it seemed over priced. The diner has a very nice pulled together atmosphere and the employees were very cheerful towards us. Unfortunately we were seated near the kitchen doors which we wouldnt mind but we could hear a mixture of the diners music and the music that the cooks were playing.

Love the pancakes! Worth the wait because they are usually busy. The only thing Ive had there that I didnt like was their desserts they look delicious but the flavor is lacking... but honestly you probably wont have room for dessert. The portion sizes are huge!

Food was great. Pancakes are amazing by themselves. Server was friendly. It was very busy and the kitchen got the food out quickly, cooked exactly as ordered, and didnt miss anything. TONS of food in your order. Pancakes are about the size of your head.

You have to take this place in context, its family friendly not high dinning. The wait staff are very friendly and do what they can to make you visit enjoyable. The prices are reasonable and the portions are generous.

The food was good, I bought a peach pie to take home. When I got home I put it in the refrigerator and my son was going to eat it a few days later and it was mildew. I want get the pie anymore but the food yeah.

The portions were so big I couldnt finish. It serves huge portions for your money and is so worth it. Its all fresh and everything tasted amazing. The waiter was very nice too. Awesome place.

The food comes in large portions, and typically is a little oily. The service is excellent though - Ive gone to this Black Bear many times, and havent had a non-attentive waiter/waitress.
