I grew up in Sacramento but moved away to NC over 20yrs ago. I still get by here as a truck driver a couple times a year and the food is always Awesome!!! It had been a while since I had eaten here and I had forgotten the huge portion sizes they serve. I ordered based on what I might typically order at a big name truckstop elsewhere. That resulted in a SEVERE case of overeating. I ordered the chips, guacamole and salsa, with liver and onions for the meal, and went with an additional side salad. Omg, that was a diet disaster. The side salad came first and was as big or bigger than a salad bar buffet salad. I could have called it a meal and been done right there. I got half way through it and this full sized dinner plate of freshly made chips came. With a bowl of both guacamole and salsa to go with it. The guacamole was excellent, and though the salsa was a rather smooth style, it was pretty good as well. My belly is stressing hard before I was half way through it. The liver and onions, with a, naturally, large order of French fries cooked extra crispy to order came, as well as a healthy portion of sauteed yellow squash that was both firm, not soft and soggy and delicious was plopped down in front of me. Not knowing the meaning of surrender, I dove in and finished it all. Im ready to just explode. Total bill with tax...$21.03. At any chain truckstop, I would have gotten 1/2 that much food, or less. And it would have been bland, soggy and I would have typically left disgusted with myself for eating there in the first place. But not here...They aim to please and do a helluva job. The waitress was very friendly and attentive. This place will always be a favorite stop of mine. Now, if I can just remember that little detail about the portions next time I come in......

So being parked here till the next day. I thought I would try the restaurant out. After reading the reviews I tried to have an open mind about this place. So in walked in sat down after passing a waitress. Sat for excatly 9 mins. Yes I was timing it as some of the reviews complain about the times. So once the waitress finally came back over she asked what i want to drink and brought me the menu. Got my drink pretty fast. Food came out and dont expect a fancy meal. This is a truck stop diner. While eating I waited for almost 15 mins while my waitress and the other one who was finished her shift were talking before I could get another drink. After that the drinks came regularly and didnt have to wait. Food well better then Dennys but not by much. Waitress was friendly but sure dont lok after her customers timely.

Everything here-is just what every other place is supposed to be. Whenever I come here, I relearn that I am not being unreasonable, to think that other places can at least try to be up to a certain standard. This place is one of the last great truck stops in America! The funniest thing is, most of them are along I-5. Gee Cees in Washington, exit 57 Jubitz in Portland, exit 307 Withams in Medford, exit 30 49er in Sac, just west of I-5, on 80 & West El Camino

Chicken Pot Pie best thing on menu and they serve draft beer. I got the fish/chips the other day and it tasted generic, disappointing. Service is always slow since they never have enough waitresses. Plus they will get your order wrong sometimes. Also people in shop were rude and seemed like I was bugging them when I wanted a PM service.

It is a diner. The sandwiches looked good and so did the breakfast. I decided to splurge and ordered the Porterhouse for $18. Yes I know.. why expect a good steak at a greasy spoon? I should have listened to my inner voice. The porterhouse was tasteless. Fries overcooked and crunchy.. not crispy. The diet coke was great!

Experience wasnt good waited while my waitress took a smoke break. Then another 45min for a chicken breast dinner, while waiting I watched three people after myself order and get there meals before me... upon getting my order my vegetables were swapped out, without me even giving a option on my choice of vegetables...

For a diner you wouldnt expect much. I was actually impressed with the food. It was pretty good. Its not fancy but its a decent looking place. Waitress was real nice. Id go back. Not sure what those other one star reviews are about. Id say those people expect wayy to much from others. Its not perfect no, but its good.

My experience wasnt too great. Service was slow, chicken parmesan was warm not hot, noodles were not cooked, chicken was warm and dry, dinner bread was cooked on rust I think. I read other reviews and now think maybe I had an off day.... maybe Ill try it again but not holding my breath on that.

Thus is one of most disgusting places I have ever eaten. Service suck bad waitress last night was slow and more interested in playing with her friends. Food was horrible. Went back today and got tea and ordered food. Took drink of tea and found lettuce in the tea. I do not recommend this place.

It was our first time eating here. I had the chicken pot pie and it was really, really good; I couldnt eat it all. Hubby had the taco salad and he enjoyed his as well. Will definitely come back to eat here again! Our waitress was Rosa and she was great :-)

Service was good. Food sucked. I got a cheese steak sandwhich.. Bell peppers were bearly cooked, steak meat was full of chewy fat, had absolutely no seasoning and no flavor. I had to add salt and pepper.. Bread was hard and soaked with the grease..

Full plate, and very full stomach! Ordered the Chicken Fried Steak breakfast. The only complaint I have is how slow the waitresses was in getting my order. It was the busiest restaurant I have seen in years! The wait was worth it.

They have some good things very filling but some times you win sometimes u lose. It depends on whos cookin. A little pricey so my husband and I always order one meal and split it it usually still comes our to 10 to 13 dollars.

Sketties & Lasagna, lasagna noodle (one) was burnt crisp. Nobody came by entire time I was eating. Server finally brought check, told her it was burnt, she had a different server ring up my bill. Not a friendly experience.

The food is excellent. No question. Do avoid the breakfast sausage. The service is friendly but unreliable. Theyre short staffed and stretched beyond what can be reasonably expected. Please, hire some more waitresses.

The food was served cold the service was craptacular. Now the food tasted good but hell it would be nice to have warm food. The waitresses were busy talking to each other then pushing orders. Wont stop again...

Worst breakfast Ive ever had- love that Im paying to park for chappy food. Figured Mabee the morning cook was just off his game- dinner sucked to. Go to the black bear its a short walk that is well worth it.
