Ive been coming to La Paz for virtually my entire life, and its just as good today as it was back when I first visited. Oscar (the owner) and his staff provide such great food and service, we are walk out with smiles and full bellies after every experience. The dishes from the Yucatan also provide a little different fare from what most Mexican restaurants have to offer, especially the seafood which is EXCELLENT! They also have all the traditional Mexican dishes you know and love (the machaca and eggs is my favorite). The Sunday brunch is super good too, but youll need reservations. Theres also a $9.99 lunch buffet on Fridays, which is a steal for the quantity AND quality of the food you can get. IMO, La Paz has easily earned this 5 star review -- in nearly 30 years worth of visits we have never had an issue, and amazingly the food tastes 100% identical every time, its perhaps the most consistently good restaurant I know of. Seriously, stop reading the review and eat here already!

A longtime family favorite restaurant for an evening out, special celebrations, Sunday brunch, and as a caterer for our own familys parties. My family has been coming to La Paz now for four generations, since the original location opened decades ago. We have the highest respect for Oscar, the owner. He, and his restaurant has always consistently served the best authentic Baja cuisine. Over the years there have been changes and renovations, yet one thing that remains the same, I believe, is that everyone who comes here gets treated like family. A somewhat hidden, prized, local gem.

Very expensive. Average tasting food. Horrible service. You will come to see that the service here sucks. You will not get refills at all. Even though theres no soda machine access to the public. Its jam packed like a bunch of beans in a bag. If you dont show: underbutt, sideboobs or any sign of whorish values you will not be serviced. You will see gang members from left to right here. If you like the alleys of downtown LA, waiting in line for food like a member in death row AND paying $40 a person then youll love it here.

Overall this place is quite lacking for a local Mexican restaurant, the atmosphere and especially the food is subpar, though the staff was courteous and the service wasnt bad. Still if your looking for Mexican, there are much better options not far away....And one side hint to a decent spot or not, is anyone Mexican eating at the Mexican Restaurant? No? Then move on. Works for any cultural international style restaurants as well. And no this place didnt pass that test either.

In my expierence that I had at this place the food was ok but I got a HUGE PIECE OF GLASS in my beverage that I confused as a piece of ice and almost cut my tongue off and I didnt even get an Im sorry this could have ended really bad....will never come back here .... Then they gave me a 35 dollar certificate to come back but that wont happen Im just glad my daughters or family didnt get that cup and if you come to this place check your cups please.....

After reading the reviews I was expecting a bit more but on Thursday night the place felt half empty and lacked atmosphere. The food was ok and the portions were extremely generous, best item we tried was the guacamole made at the table. The rest - tacos and chimichanga were fine but not enticing enough to come back. The staff were polite and smiley but the food was just ok.

Decent Mexican food. The seafood combo was good, but after devouring the very large table side Guacamole, I was already full. Portions are large, but it still feels a bit pricey for what you get. The salsas and complementary pickled veggies are quite tasty.

This place has been the best for almost 3 decades. Truly unique food like whole garlic fish, chorizo and shrimp, huge steak burritos and carnitas. the baked garlic & cheese oyters are the best as well as the chile rellenos!! I just love this place!

Probably the best Mexican restaurant in town. The chips and salsa are amazing and the portions are large. Usually gives me at the very least one full meal of leftovers. Sundays can be extremely busy because of the brunch.

Dont come!!! No parking and making reservations is a waste of time. You will still wait in line for 2 hours I would have left but Im here for a birthday party. The staff is rude and barely speaks English.

The food is underwhelming, location is okay and the interior is slightly run down. The service isnt that great and the waiters arent very helpful. The only upside is their hours of operation.

Dark and dismal inside, although the bar looked lively. The food was fairly average but huge generous portions. Good if youre hungry, but not if you want something a little more upmarket.

They have great service and great drinks but there meat has no flavor though aside from that prices are kinda high I would prefer going to salsa and beer instead of here

Some of the best seafood in LA. If go make sure you get the shrimp enchiladas and their seafood ceviche. Also the Pallela is amazing! This place is amazing!

Never came back! The food was unflavored (Cochinita typical dish) and The fish was salty and a lot of garlic. Of course we tell to the waitress about that
