absolutely surprised by the awesome food and huge portions! we walked up and were a bit nervous based on the run down look, however, we are so glad we ate here. me, my wife, and 3 kids ate for less than 50$ and the food took less than 5 minutes to come out!! while we waited the kids got to look at the crab display where u can purchase crab by the pound. it can look a little intimidating at first, but just walk right in to the mini fish market, grab a menu off of the display case and order the best damn fish and chips i have had in years... crunchy and fresh fish, perfectly fried. my wife got grilled cod, cooked perfectly and super flavorful. got the shelled shrimp plate which turned out to be an awesome plate of 22 shrimps grilled/sautéed with bell peppers and veggies. cool experience for the kids and really good sea food. we will be back. service was super fast, and i can see how the language barrier would make some people think the owners were rude. they were not rude at all, just asian, so very fast and have an accent. still service with a smile! and crazy fast!

Drove all the way from Glendale to have a great lunch on Aug. 02, 2014 . The place looks owned and run by Chinese so dont expect any classy service (this is why I couldnt give 5 stars). Theres ample of free parking within the plaza. HCSI is a bit rundown but the fresh crabs (spider, rock crabs, and dungeness) are moderately priced. We were one of the early birds at around 11am and the place was half empty and thats nice as compared to Redondo Fishermans Wharf loud crowd. We were 4 adults and spent only around $130 which included 3 live crabs and 4 sets of combo platters of mixed fish, squids, shrimps, french fries, coleslaw and rice with leftovers to go. Just go there and enjoy the seafood and ocean environment and youre guaranteed to be happy.

The guy in the cashier extremely rude !!! And thats the thing!! Ive always gone there several times when I crave fresh Crabs... the Chinese guy by the crab area is so nice... was there yesterday 11/31/15 arounf 1:30pm bringing 3 family members that had never been there and fouND the place empty and w/ only rock crabs. .. thought maybe just the season..the guy helping with the crabs was nice... paid for the crabs then thought maybe order fried fish but when we saw the fish and price we changed our mind... the guy at the cashier muttered "MIERDA!!! " .... I told him he should not say that coz were customers... Never assumed we cant understand because that is the rudest wevery been treated anywhere. .. by the way not even an apology !!!

I have been coming here for years now and it has never disappointed. The food is consistently great and it always tastes good. The best part about this place is that it has big portions for a reasonable price. They tend to be less busy on weekdays and get very busy on weekends. On weekends you might have to wait for a bit and tables might be scarce. The seagulls and other birds will try to steal your food so be aware! However, the location is great because it sits right on the dock of the marina. If you have the time, I recommend taking a walk down to the dock just to see how picturesque everything is. Overall, great location and great food, cant go wrong eating here. Must try the fish and chips!

Wanted to give Negative stars if I could. Horrible food. Fish plate - fish tastes like toilet and breaded crust is horrible Clam chowder - tastes horrible Steamed lobster tail - tastes like rubber, melted butter that comes if it tastes horrible The only thing we were able to eat was fries, rice and bread. We threw the horrible food away and went to Fishermans Catch which is 5 minutes away - what a difference!!! Food there is good! We ordered fish, rice, shrimp, clam chowder - everything is delicious. Nothing can beat "Quality Seafood" fish market & restaurant in Redondo Beach but Fishermans Catch comes very close.

Would love to give it 5 stars. The quality and selection of the shellfish was excellent (though popular shellfish sell out early on busy days), but why would you serve cheap margarine with Dungeness crab?? Or any other crab for that matter. If youre someone who enjoys their shellfish, you can appreciate how gross it is to dip anything in fake oil. Again, fortunately the crab is as fresh as you can get, so au naturale is still a treat. This is a casual, order at the counter and wait for your number type vibe.

My family has been coming here for years simply because of the delicious food. The seagulls/pigeons can get annoying, but honestly, people eat at SF fishermans wharf all the time and they dont complain about the fowl much. Just enjoy the experience, its genuine wharf seafood outdoor restaurant-ish! We really enjoy eating here! Just give it a shot.

Ordered clam chowder. Was so tasteless and watery. French Fries were gross. Hush puppies were just okay...hubby ordered fish and chips and you cant really go wrong with frying stuff..... maybe the fresh seafood is better there , if you sit and crack and eat.. but I wouldnt recommend this to anyone and certainly will not be going back.

THE BEST seafood around! Huge portions, cheap prices. Always fresh! This place is not a fancy restaurant, but you will not be disappointed with the meal. I promise. Just avoid Smokin BBQ, next door. He tries to lure customers from HC. Dont be fooled, you cant top HCs fish and chips.

Good food, fresh tasting, ample portions. Plan to share some food to get more variety. Sodas are over priced, but a fun, enjoyable place to relax and enjoy a good meal. No inside seating...just view tables in the patio looking at the center and docks.

Very clean and friendly staff. Modern furniture and great bistro with many choices of food and late drinks. Enjoyed our stay while attending a venue in Santa Bárbara. We decided to stay here since the hotels in Santa Barbara are very expensive.

I love coming here for lunch on the weekend. The fish and chips are the best value in my opinion. It can be a bit crowded in the summer and the pigeons are a little annoying. But this is still a favorite lunch spot.

One of my favorite places for seafood. The quality is amazing and prices are cheap. They even serve inexpensive lobsters here which is of great taste. Its also close to a quiet beach that I like to visit sometimes.

A fun walk-up seafood place. The food was good and there was a variety. The fries were delicious. There is only outdoor seating, but the setting is next to the harbor so it has ambiance.

My favorite is the spicy chicken dinner combination. Yum! Always a hit and just the right amount of spice! I like to get it with either the tempura or the spicy tuna sushi rolls.
