Beware of this restaurant on any type of holiday. Even if you make a reservation you will wait, they overbook all the holidays. I made a reservation for Thanksgiving and waited for half an hour. My reservation had a request for a window table, and after waiting, we were led to a table that was placed IN the aisle right in front of the kitchen entrance. I asked the manager to be reseated, and after waiting for a new table we were given a wonderful table by the window. After being seated we were put into the akward position of being met by the occupants of the table who had been getting there food at the buffet. Not a very comfortable situation. We then waited at the bar for another new table. Initially I could see the manager working on finding us a table. This seemed to slacken and he began helping other customers. We were obviously forgotten. We made arrangements over the phone to go to Buca Di Bepo in San Francisco. On the way out the door I stopped to talk to the manager, his initial response was to ask if we had taken the original table in the aisle. I told him no, that we had been waiting for him, and that we were now leaving. He made NO apologies, but just stood there and did not even respond. This can be a really good restaurant, but they are horrible on any type of holiday. While I have memories going back many years here I will not be returning. They have given up on the customer looking to get as many bookings as possible. A hint...if you make a reservation here, make it for a large group so you can get a decent table. If you are only two...or a smaller group they will put you in some inconvenient places. Buca De Bepo in San Francisco put us in a large table without reservations, even though they eventually filled up. We were treated like royalty! The food is much better than HS Lordships, and they bring it to your table. They saved our Thanksgiving!

HS Lordships Restaurant in Berkeley, California Hs Lordships Review: This place has been on my to eat list since I first discovered its existence years ago. I finally had a chance to try them out with Melanie Kyle and Jay Lehman. I ordered the Chefs Fish of the Day, a cod fish with crab meat topping with scalloped potatoes and sauteed greens ( a piece of young brocolli /brocolini and a piece of asparagus) The crab meat was superb, very buttery soft fluffy and perfect...well almost perfect there was a few pieces of shell but I expected that (but maybe I shouldnt from a 25 dollar meal) The cod on the other hand I felt ruined by excessive cheap tasting cooking oil, it saturated the fish and ruined the otherwise delicious meat with its heavy oil flavor. The scalloped potatoes was something I was also looking forward to, I as a kid loved scalloped potatoes. These were a disappointment as well with no flavor. No cheesiness no buttery goodness it was bland. So Im a might disappointed and on the fence of Hs Lordships I might give them one more chance maybe....

Iʻve been with friends several times to HS Lordships and weve always had good experiences. I have many food allergies, and they have been very accommodating. We were allowed to sit and talk as long as we pleased without interference (my friends have come from out of town). The champagne we were served was not "crappy" as another reviewer put it, it was a good medium quality house wine. The service was at times a little slow (depending on number of patrons), but the servers were very gracious and professional. I was once there for a large dinner honoring a retiree from Fresno -- we all gathered in Berkeley at HS Lordships where two rows of tables were set up for us and a pre-ordered dinner served. Again, the staff was very accommodating, and we spent the entire afternoon eating, drinking, and talking. It was memorable. The view of the bay and sunset was lovely.

I have been a customer for over 20 years. Sunday brunch with fabulous views, impeccable service and good food has always been appreciated. (Especially Sherri, the hostess, who makes her guests feel welcome and seems to have have a genuine like of her customers.) But last night my fiancé and I went to Skates on the Bay next door. The food was good, but the service was the worst we ever had. The waiter didnt listen, we had to ask for the same thing 3 different times, entree was delivered before the appetizers, dirty dishes left on our table, bread was cold, etc. And as we wondered initially why we had never gone there before, we left regretting we didnt go to H.S. Lordships.

The view is amazing. Makes the somewhat dated place still well worth it. Food was very good (Sunday brunch). Got a great table, too, yay. Only the service leaves some to be desired. Staff looks grumpy, after being seated waited for 10 minutes for some water, then another 5 for coffee. Small cups empty fast and another 10 minute wait for a refill with a somewhat diluted brew - all that with a grumpy face. Makes the $ 45.- pp an expense you are no longer enthusiastic to make. Service charge 15, 18 or 20 %... ? Really? If you dont enjoy your job, why not do something else and not spoil other peoples mood on Sunday morning?

We went to HS Lordships for a group dinner of around 20 people. Before the event we were given a choice of salmon, chicken, pasta or prime rib entree with soup or salad, dessert (cheesecake), and coffee for $25. We had the salmon and prime rib entrees and thought that they were quite good and a reasonable value. We were not given a private room but the restaurant is enormous so we were not close to any other parties. It has a nice view looking at the Bay Bridge. Overall our experience was a positive one. This isnt the kind of place we would go to all the time but I think we would consider it again for a similar event.

Absolutely the most horrendous food available in the bay area. Disgusting buffets, low quality ingredients, no creativity, noisy, serve-yourself, poor service, ugh. This place has become the subject of jokes amongst friends who have experienced it about how bad something can possibly be... nothing could be as bad as this place. Their high ratings on some other services are so unbelievable that I cant help but wonder if they dpnt seed them with falsely positive reviews. In a word: nasty. Go anywhere else. Dennys. IHOP. Theyll be better. and that is saying not much.

if u like tons of bad food and even worse service, this place is amazing! you even get 2 glasses of crappy champagne (or mimosas OMG!!). sushi?! oh my!! u can tell they pulled the seafood in fresh straight from the bay, like 2-3 weeks ago and then Sysco delivered it nice and frozen. the roast beef and turkey clearly came from the frozen food section of last chance food emporium - perfectly warmed and chewy. enjoy!!! 2 adults + 1 kid only $101 - thanks for circling the gratuity part on the bill i totally wasnt even thinking about that part... Wow.

While we were eating our dinner we were shocked to find out someone broke into our car and stole our belongings. We find out 3 other vehicles were broken into at the same time. We talked to the manager and he said he has no cameras or any type of security. He said that the lot is owned by the city And he couldnt do anything about it. I called 911 to report it, and they told me to report it online and didnt seem like they even cared. Ive read reviews and it seems like people regularly break into other peoples vehicles in this lot.
