I had gone here once for dinner years ago and drove by it a few weeks back so I decided it was time to visit again. A very close friend just celebrated his 30th birthday and we had missed going to visit him for it. I invited him to meet us at Tanner Jacks for the brunch so we could catch up and treat him. As much as I hate to review a buffet, I was pleasantly surprised that the brunch was in fact a breakfast buffet. Making it better is that my buddy can eat... a lot. They had fresh made to order omelets and waffles as well as a number of options like hash browns, chicken fried steak, corned beef hash and potatoes and several other dishes to choose from. On top of the entrees they also had coffee cakes and fresh fruit available. We ordered a round of mimosas to start the morning off, to our surprise they turned out to be bottomless! My first round I picked up small portions of many of the options. There was a wonderful BBQ roast with light barbecue sauce, surprisingly still pink despite the buffet set up. Then I tried a sausage that had been cooked in a smoky and spicy barbecue sauce, fantastic, I had to go back for more. Chicken fried steak is a breakfast staple, especially when paired with biscuits and gravy. The biscuits were a great single serving size for a buffet and very fresh, not too dry but still a bit flaky. The gravy they make was great, nice and creamy with bits of ground sausage. Chicken fried steak was also very good, lightly breaded and cooked just right. The hash browns were probably my favorite buffet dish. Normally I lean toward crispy hash browns, but Tanner Jacks cheesy hash browns opened my eyes! They were amazing, great texture and flavor. Then there was the corned beef hash which is something I generally reserve for St. Patricks Day. A very nice fresh mixture of potatoes and onions along with the beef. The corned beef itself was some of the best I have had as well. On the second round I decided to get seconds of the hash browns and sausage in sauce. I also ordered a waffle and a mushroom spinach omelet. The omelet was cooked just right and was quite good. The waffle had a toppings bar consisting of fresh cut strawberries, a cinnamon-sugar mix, lightly caramelized apples, chocolate chips, whipped cream, and syrup. Mixing the cinnamon mix with the caramelized apples and a bit of syrup made for an amazing combination. I also threw in some chocolate chips to the traditional strawberries and whipped cream. During the time we were at the table the waitress was very attentive and friendly, continuing to top off our drinks and bringing fresh silverware between plates. She brought us the bill and I was shocked to find the mimosas were included in the Sunday Brunch. I couldnt have been happier, Tanner Jacks is now certainly my go to place for a Sunday breakfast/brunch.

My husband and I have only been here twice. The atmosphere is quite nice. Service slow.... (personal is friendly). You have to ask for coffee if you want more... Prices are to high. We have tried there sweet corn, which was really good. There ribs cooked well. The steak was over cooked!! They do give a lot of food. Desserts are very good. Being very family orientated, and around lots of children, I must say my biggest complaint is a dossier ..... Our evening was horrid...! There was a family of four there( two children two adults). The children were uncontrollable . It safe to say that dinner for everyone around them was ruined....the staff never ask them to controlled the kids... If your looking for a nice atmosphere to enjoy dinner I suggest you try somewhere else...

I live on the Palo Mesa and tried Tanner Jacks when it first opened years ago and was not impressed. Since then the place changed owners (Michael and Kelly rock) and it is a completely different restaurant. The food is awesome and the service is great too. They have a cozy little bar to enjoy and they make their own beer which they are really good at. Everything I have tried there has been great except for the coleslaw... not a big fan of coleslaw with sesame seeds in it... almost like Chinese food I think. Big helpings, open most holidays with specials like mothers day brunch and right on the mesa... what more could you ask for?

I will say, the fried pickles are amazing and if you are sitting at the bar then its fine. But if you are in a booth, they give you absolutely 0 service. Brunch is ok because you get up and serve yourself... I went in there with my mom and sisters and as soon as we got our food, the waitress didnt check on us once. There was only one other party in there and they were up by the bar so she talked to them the entire time. We had to get up and get her to get our check. We left very unhappy, and I havent been back since.

Ate here with my wife for lunch a few months ago. Spent $50 and wasnt happy with anything we got. Food was mediocre at best and the appetizers were either overcooked or cooked in old grease. I had to order a side of fries because the sandwiches come with nothing. It was $3.99 so I expected a good sized order but it was a small pile on my plate. Over all it was so disspointing that I havent been able to try it again... Its sad since its the closest place to our home.

The bowl of chili that I ordered was bland. A can of hormel chili from home is better to eat. The food presentation was poor. The only good thing to eat here is their rolls. Salad was just a head of lettuce with dressing. The chicken and dumplings was also very bland and had no flavor. Staff is overworked and there is not enough people to help out. I highly recommend that you dont eat here. Tanner jacks is tanner yacks. Banned for life!!! Eat at the market next door.

The benches were covered with a thin cushion that moved because they werent secured. My family moved to a table because of them. Server didnt care when we mentioned about the concern of the cushions. The place was empty after 5 PM on a Saturday! Food wasnt good. My potato wasnt cooked all the way and hard! Were there to celebrate my sons 16th Birthday and it turned into a huge disappointment. Not worth the money we paid!

Went on Sunday night and service was amazing we were seated right away and our waitress took our drink order. The steak was juicy and we had asked for steak sauce but did not end up needing it and from the looks of it no one before us needed it cause the bottle had not been opened. This is our first time and will definitely come back
