I am new in the Yakima area, and will try all of the supposed barbecue joints here. This is the first one, and I am not impressed. I had the bbq beef sandwich, which was nothing of the sort. I swear it came with ketchup rather than any kind of real sauce, and the meat was very low quality, to say nothing of the hamburger bun it came on. My better half had a burger, and she was not impressed, either. The portions are tiny and way overpriced. The food just did not taste good. Hopefully some of the other ones labeled as barbecue have actual barbecue on the menu; this is just another boring burger joint that does not taste good and costs way too much, like countless other burger stands in Yakima.

A classic burger and shake place with charm out the yin yang, Lariat Bar-B-Q is a little more expensive than the big chain fast food places, but well worth it. Their burgers are filling enough without fries, but if you want a giant bag to share it will cure any hunger you may have for the rest of the day. The real gem they have on the menu is amongst their shake flavors. Butterscotch is a difficult flavor to find and some places make them too syrupy, but their butterscotch never disappoints. It might take a little longer than your average drive-thru, but Lariat truly embodies the old adage, "Good things come to those who wait."

I was skeptical when they advertised the "original" Kemper burger which was a bit of a history years past. Bought some recently and was prepared to be disappointed. It is exactly like the original Kemper burger. By the way, the Lariat is the cleanest fast food place in Yakima, I swear.

Their BBQd pulled pork burger just takes over your taste buds. Go when youre not in a hurry, as its a small walk and drive-thru place. I had to take off a star, because of the speed and price. Overall, good food!

Great cheeseburger and I love the tartar sauce with fries. They also have preserved the original Kempers Burger which was the small, low price burger in Yakima long before McDonalds perfected the concept.

Great old fashioned cooked burgers and pulled pork sandwiches. If you drive by and pass it, make a u turn and get one. Well worth the wait ! Outside eating area is nice compliment to the experience..
