As local for 25+ years this place is better than firestone. Get your trip-tip here as there isnt a huge line! Add candied bacon to your trip-tip sandwich for some extra flavor. The salads arent so bad here, either. The only reason I wont give it a 5 is that the help has failed to give me my order exactly as I ordered it. Though to be honest any place that churns through college kids as fast as they do you best to double check your order. Tip: They also have the best pulled pork in town!

We used Old San Luis BBQ for our sons graduation. The food was AMAZING and Matt was great to work with. He had the amount of food wed need for 50 people down to a science and made menu suggestions that were appealing to both the grads and parents. Everyone commented on how good all of it was, from the beef to the chicken to the corn pie! And the price was really competitive. Thanks Matt, for helping to make our event a memorable one. Well be back!

What an amazing little place to visit! Farmers Market they have $5 deals that are worth so much more! You can walk up and take your food to go, or go inside and sit and enjoy in a comfortable setting, and occasionally catch a live band playing. The staff are very friendly, and happy. Genuinely a place I look forward to visiting again! Did I mention their food is gorgeous???

Best BBQ in SLO in my opinion. The salsa is really good, and the BBQ sauce competes with Firestone. I like the tri-tip sliders, which are on really good sourdough. Somehow, ordering from a window and eating outside seems like the only way to eat BBQ. Only disappointment is that the corn pudding is served a bit cool, and the coleslaw didnt have much flavor. .

Churrasco brasileiro nos EUA! Peça pelo trip tip with jack cheese. Muito bom!!! Para acompanhar peça uma cervejinha. Pra se sentir no Brasil só falta o vinagrete!

Great BBQ food for reasonable price. If you have a group to cater they do trays of all their items for very reasonable prices as well. We had them do a 30 person meeting and it was quality with special sides. It is a lot of fun here on Thursday night with music and deals. Nice SLO spot!

Amazingly delicious tri-tip and barbecue sauce. The sauce is on the savory side and not too overwhelming. You order at the window and the food comes out pretty fast then sit inside or outside. The sweet potato fries are great but the pulled pork is decent and nothing to write home about.

Great local place for BBQ SLO style. My favorite is the Strawberry Fields salad with Tri-tip. And dont forget the corn pie! They recently got control of the space next door (that used to be a so-so coffee shop) and will have over 40 taps there soon for your beer drinking enjoyment!

Mostly delicious food, but atmosphere is lacking. Food isnt really served on plates so you are unwrapping everything at the table, which takes away from a comfortable meal. I wouldnt want to bring friends for a meal here, it works better for a quick bite.

Good cornbread, beans, and salad. I thought the tri tip was a bit fatty for my taste but some people like it that way. Ive had chicken here several times and sometimes its dry and sometimes it terrific. Just a roll of the dice I guess.

Excellent Tri-tip sandwiches and excellent service. Theyre very quick and its usually pretty mellow here. If youre looking for something quieter, with good outdoor seating, good food, and quick service, this is a great choice.

Food is awesome and consistent, service is friendly. Expect to wait a couple minutes for your order because its made fresh and hasnt been sitting under a heat lamp. Corn pie and the orange cream milkshake are my favorites.

One of the best places to get BBQ and tri tip sandwiches in SLO. The restaurant has a homey and comfy vibe, and the location of the restaurant is great, right on the edge of old town SLO next to a lovely bridge and creek.

Great, tender tri tip! Food overall decent bbq. Located a little ways out of the busiest part of downtown, so more relaxed, if youre looking for a less crowded, low-key place to get a tri tip sandwich

Delicious barbeque spot! Visited SLO twice and got barbeque here twice. Will definitely visit again next time Im in the area. The tri tip steak sandwich was fantastic. Very smoky and great flavor.

Some of the best BBQ on the central coast. Great service (with a smile) and tritip that is as good, if not better than the infamous Firestone. This hole in the wall will not disappoint!

Great juicy tri-tip, new indoor seating! This little hidden gem rivals other well known barbecue hotspots in the city. Dont forget the yummy chocolate shake!

Perfect for takeout, open late and amazing food. Its hard to go wrong with just about anything on the menu and their customer service is great as well.

While I could easily eat this stuff non stop, would like to see a little more in the container considering the pricing. Legit tri tip for sure, though.

This place is tasty, I got a tri-tip sando on french w/ a side of BBQ and ranch sauces and a chocolate milkshake. Next time I will get the pulled pork

Really fast and friendly service! Had the pulled pork and it was delish! Ate here during the Farmers market and was probably the best bbq around.

Great strawberry fields salad. You can add protein to it. Love the candied pecans and dried cherries. They make really good milk shakes too.

The service is very tentative. The tri-tip is extremely juicy. It is simple but very addicting. I will come back hungry for more.

Meh. Not terrible, but nothing to write home about. BBQ chicken and tri tip were dry. BBQ sauce way too sweet. Very slow service.

Its a bit pricey for what you end up get getting but its pretty good food. Also their renovated indoor dining is really nice

The best BBQ Tri-Tip around, period. Combine it with one of their sourdough rolls, TO DIE FOR! Great job guys, keep it up!

I will rave about the BBQ, but it feels a shame no one has mentioned the Strawberry Fields Salad a great non meat option.

Great tri-tip sandwich. Priced within normal BBQ places. Friendly staff, quick service. This place has a nice feel to it.

Fast service with friendly staff but the tri-tip and garlic bread were very dry and the coleslaw didnt have much flavor.

Always great! Everything here tastes awesome. Youve gotta love meat though. Couple salads. Small menu, lots of flavor.

The tri tip and bbq sauce are great. The sourdough wasnt what I was expecting, but I think Im just spoiled on Boudin.

Looking for tri-tip? Go here. Definitely the best in the county and the rest of the menu is outstanding as well.
