We love the food. Discovered this gem a few months back and go often. The service seems to be declining, though. Today, the entire wait staff and manager were in the back of the restaurant on their cell phones practically the entire time we were dining. After about 10 minutes of no waitress we had to flag someone down. Received our appetizer at the same time we got our rolls. Our waitress was nice, just not attentive. Again, we love the food. Always fresh, tasty, consistant. Im still giving a 4 star review but would appreciate better management and service.

Sakana serves the best sushi if you are a foodie this is the place to go for a flavor explosion. The yellow tail carpaccio is a must have item it has thin slices of tender melt in your mouth yellow tail sitting on a heavenly sweet tamarind sauce the fish is garnished with thin slices of fresh jalapeño a dab of siracha. Sakana has lots of specials we enjoy trying new things they never disappoint. Dont forget to ask for fresh wasabi it tastes much better than the standard wasabi paste and only costs $2

Everything Ive tried was delicious. Huge variety of items, both sushi and entree. Staff are friendly and reasonably attentive. The only strike Ill give the restaurant is their hours are somewhat limited. And it can be hard to get a seat at dinner time. One time I dropped by about 15-20 minutes before closing time but they had already stopped service and shut down. Bummer!

Sakana Restaurant has one the best lunch meals in Scottsdale for the buck! Their daily sushi platter has enough to be a complete lunch and not just a snack. The variety is surprisingly rich and their hot tea complete the meal. Parking is never a problem and the waiting is normal and you can go back to work in no time. Give it try if are around Indian Bend and Pima road area.

Although it is true what has been said about mayo and Sakana my experience was very good. The house-smoked salmon nigiri was fantastic. The 50¢ appetizer-beverage combo is a hit, I had the seaweed salad, crunchy cool and perfectly flavored. Ill be back. It was also interesting to hear Japanese sushi chefs practicing ¡un pocito español!

Horrible place not good service and sushi is terrible and the people at the bar is retarded because they cant speak English properly like if they were to work at a sushi bar at least make sure they speak English properly and the servers are lazy dont tip them and dont go there its a terrible place and also things are always changing

Excellent food but horrible service. We were sat then 15 min later a server came. We ordered drinks. 15 min. later drinks came... ordered sushi and it came quick. Then our server disappeared! Empty drinks. Waited 30 min for our check. Another 25 till we were cashed out. Was a loyal customer until this experience.

Didnt even get to taste the food. We were told a 15 minute wait when we got there and then an hour later, after being ignored by the staff and watching the servers flirt with every male customer, we were given menus in the entryway and told to order so that they could leave when they closed in five minutes.

The Sakana Lunch is the best sushi deal weve found in Phoenix yet. You wont leave here hungry. Its served with salad and miso, and the platter comes with two fried stuffed peppers, one roll, and 6 or 7 assorted nigiri. The fish is fresh and the rolls are flavorful. What more could you want?

My all-time favorite sushi restaurant and yes it is in the desert! Ive been going here for 20 years and the quality has gotten even better and the menu options have really expanded, especially the specialty rolls. They really treat you like family too. Nigiri portions are very generous .

I came in today before work for a simple lunch. I arrived shortly after they opened, but with 15 minutes of ordering I had my eaten my soup, and was looking down at my roll and tempura tofu. Everything was excellent, and I wasnt pestered in the slightest. Overall, a great experience.

Sushi selections are fresh and taste good. Prices are very reasonable too. Sunday happy hour until close! Been there 3 times, sat at the bar each time. Service is just average at the bar, the servers need to come by more to make sure customers are being serviced (drink refills, etc).

My favorite sushi restaurant in Phoenix (and other cities.) It sounds too good to be true, how can there be perfect sushi in the middle of the desert? Believe me, this place is the best; great cuts of fish and healthy servings in rolls, sashimi, and nigiri.

Were not sushi folks, but VERY much enjoyed spring rolls, teriyaki chicken, gyoza, and a quite remarkably generous and good plate of vegetable tempura. Attentive service despite a busy evening. Quite a fine value for the modest charge. Well be back!

By far, the best sushi in the valley! Always fresh, always delicious, always good service. I would definitely recommend the sashimi platter, the jalapeno calamari, and the Fitzgeroll (sp?). My favorite sushi spot!

Sakana is one of phoenix only true Sushi restaurants. The prices are very reasonable & the food is great! Also, the atmosphere is friendly. If you like sushi, you have to try Sakana.

The food was fine, big portion, and cheap. The fried food could be better but the house salad was good! The service was good but sometimes its hard to get a hold of the waitresses.

This is the best sushi restaurant in town. The service is great and it is really a friendly atmosphere. The special rolls are a bit pricy but well worth it!

Lesser known scottsdale sushi gem. I have only ever had the sushi here and there is a reason for that, it is amazing. Also drink specials are available daily.

Good value. 14 for sashimi salad, and it was really good save the sneak wasabi lol. Also, it had delicious oysters, covered with crab.

Great food & amazing portions. Some places skip out on the meat & add more rice. They are not one of those. Well be back soon!

Still one of my favorite places for high-quality, low-cost sushi. I recommend this restaurant to friends often.
