My granddaughter loves this place, and for the past few years, the entire family has met for dinner to celebrate her birthday. There are 12 -- well 11 and a 2-year-old (who doesnt eat anything that she decides is "strange"). Seated faster than they predicted, waiter greeted us, took our beverage order (consisting mostly of water or cola). At that point, he ignored us and went on to take orders from another table. Fine, they are busy. A young lady eventually comes up to take our orders, and we sit . . . and sit . . . and sit . . . Presently, they bring out salads, then the soup . . . and two entrees . . . we sit . . . eat . . . talk . . . then, one by one, the entrees are brought out. The servers stand at the head of the table and asks "who had . . . . . . . . .?" Finally, after several minutes, everyone is served . . . except for my adult daughter and myself. My daughter asked about it and was told "dont worry about it" . . . Eventually, my daughter got her entree. I sat for a good 15 minutes, watching my family eat . . . and the server comes out, and states that they are all out of the item I ordered. By this time, my entire family has finished eating. I told her, never mind, I am okay; but she insisted on bringing me a menu so I could order something else. She is very apologetic, and offers to comp my meal. I ordered vegetable tempura . . . 10 minutes later, she comes out bearing a tray with my original order . . . which they had miraculously been able to find and/or cook. It was undercooked, rubbery and tasteless, was not able to eat most of it. (Fortunately, one of my granddaughters had shared some of her meal with me). Apologies abound, server offers us 2 free desserts for our inconvenience. There are 12 of us . . Cold day in Arizona before I voluntarily go back.

Considering I had heard so much about Kabuki and it being my first time I wasn’t sure what to expect. I found that overall I was pleased. A friend and I went specifically for Happy Hour to see their options. The Happy Hour menu could have definitely offered more flexibility but it was still workable. The deal is you have to order 2 things from the same category and the second one (of lesser price) is $1. It forces one to choose two rolls or 2 appetizers of the same type. The atmosphere was jovial with softly playing Christmas music and a visually entertaining backdrop at the sushi bar. The taste of the food was agreeable, especially the spider roll. A bit pricey but one can get away with paying $15-$20 per person if you go at Happy Hour and choose wisely.

I went to Kabuki for my 21st birthday dinner. We made reservations and got there early. They dont seat a party until majority is ther but that was fine with us because we went to the bar and had a couple drink. We did have to wait a while to be served in the bar which was rather annoying because it wasnt that busy. But i quickly got over it. I ordered a Blue Moon (one of ther fruity mixed drinks) and loved it. For dinner i had the vegas roll which was amazing and cant wait to go back and have it agian. They brought me ice cream for my birthday and the service was good. I love the atmosphere and vibe. Bathrooms were clean which is a plus too!

The food was amazing as always, I order sushi each Ive been there, it also got me addicted to miso soup. BUT the second time I went there was on a date with my boyfriend, he paid. The food came out to about $35 and my boyfriend doesnt know the proper tip you should give(I taught him after, also Im 17 and hes 19 still young) well my boyfriend left a $4 tip. They server followed us out to our car and went ballistic on us asking if his service wasnt that great and why we left only $4, he raised his tone the whole time. My boyfriend just approached it calmly and said sorry. Sadly we did not report it to the manger like we should have.

I noticed this place while shopping one evening and a friend and I decided to try it out. Weve been to several sushi places from the questionable to the over the top. Kubuki tries hard to be sleek and trendy, which it succeeds. However the sushi is plain and overpriced for what it was. Our waiter when asked about some of their specialty rolls could only best describe them as. "Its kind of like a California Roll, except with..." In which he was right, out of the 6-7 rolls we ordered they mostly all tasted the same. It tries to be a Scottsdale sushi experience, but is clearly on the other side of the tracks.

I am a very picky eater. We have been here twice now, and love it. The ambiance is really nice and comfortable. We are pescatarian, so the menu options are great for us. Their albacore sashimi is to die for. Completely fresh, melts in your mouth - not fishy or odd. We have never ordered anything there that didnt seem fresh, it is always fantastic! And the presentation is beautiful also. We usually drop a lot of money here, but it is one of those restaurants that is so enjoyable that you do not mind how much you spend. It is well worth it!

It used to bemy favorite place to go food is the best. But, service is the other 50% that I care, today we stop to eat with a very important client, the host told us that we will have to wait 15 minutes for a table because the server had two big parties, my client felt ofended ans we walk to the thirsty lion and we had a good time this place is the best. WE go 4 to 5 times a month to kabuki and I have the red mask card. I will never go again and I do not recommend this place at all. This happen to me 3 times in 2 weeks. Horrible ....!

The moment we got there we were seated but then promptly ignored. It was an hour before they closed on a Sunday night which wasnt to terribly busy. We sat for 15 minutes before anyone acknowledged we were there. The restaurant wasnt overly packed and had at least 4 wait staff in our vicinity. It wasnt until a busser over heard our complaints was when he asked if we had been helped. We heard great things about their food here but their service definitely needs work. It will take a lot for me to return to this establishment.

We were in the area for 2 days. We chose this place based on the reviews. I am so glad we did. We were not disappointed. Both times we were here, it was during Happy Hour & we had the same server each time. I believe his name was Jimmy. He was awesome...took care of us & was so friendly. The food was delicious. I fell in love with the chicken jidori ramen from the 1st bite I took. All the different sushi rolls we had were so good too. We will definitely be eating here again if we return to the valley.
