On a Thursday night, this restaurant isnt too busy, but parking is terrible. The parking lot is pretty small so good luck looking for a spot! My friend and I had reservations at 8pm and there were only 2 spots available. This is a "must try" in Salt Lake City for tapas! Wide selection of small plates and great taste! Service is fantastic and servers came around often to fill up water and ask if we needed anything extra. We ordered the steamed buns with pork belly, the mushroom arugula salad special, and the pork shank. Let me start with the small plates. The steamed buns are so good! Has a couple pieces of thinly sliced pickled cucumber, a thick slice of pork belly, scallions, and a honey hoisin spread for $11.00. There were only 3 sliders, but I couldve had 20 more! It was so delicious and perhaps my favorite of the night. Ooooh the mushroom and arugula salad with katsuobushi, which they call tuna jerky. You can see in my video that the flakes of tuna are dancing! It was a little scary at first, but the server told me that it was reacting to the heat of the mushrooms and warm arugula. The flavors of the katsuobushi is so good and flaky! It has the texture of sweet and savory in a tiny little bite! It was a daily special so I dont know if they will have the same when you order it. I originally wanted the mushrooms with the fried poached egg that I see all over yelp, but they dont have that anymore. They tried their best to mimic the same dish by using the same mushrooms, using truffle oil and adding a fried poached egg . Now the wood roasted Kurobuta pork shank. Wow. Meat was so tender that it fell off the bone. The cubed apples were a nice sweet texture with smoked pork jus sauce. I forgot there was a spread of pureed sweet potatoes on the side as it looked like it was part of the color of the plate. Kale were sautéed and laying underneath the pork. Although the large plate was good, the tapas were even better! Alcoholic drinks. Everyone knows Im a sucker for martinis, but I didnt like that pumpkin spiced martini. It tasted like some sort of spiked eggnog in a martini glass. Dont get me wrong, I love me some eggnog, but it wasnt what I expected. The server kindly took my drink away and gave me a really dirty martini with kettle one vodka. I wish it was a little more dirtier, but i didnt want to be a pain. I wanted to try the spiced beignets, but they ran out. That just means I will get to try them next time! Im definitely coming back here again and trying more tapas!

I really like how they redesigned the interior compared to the last restaurant. The service was friendly and for that they get two stars. The meal started out positive, I ordered the booze free seasonal press, AMAZING. After that my group had the steamed buns. They were so good, we ordered another round! The oysters were next, they were good. Steak Tartare was our third round and we all just about choked on the amount of salt they used! It was rough. We ordered our entrees and when those came out, it just got worse. Two in our group ordered the tagliarini, it tasted like an entire box of salt had been dumped on it. They couldnt eat it with how salty it was. Another ordered the pork chop and he pretty much gagged on the first bite. I tried it myself and it was rough to swallow. The mushrooms that came with it tasted so salty I physically gagged, I struggled not to spit it out and had to take a mouth full of water to swallow it. My tongue felt like it was burning from the amount of sodium on the dish. I ordered the shrimp and grits, they were good, but again, someone was REALLY heavy handed on the salt that night! They offered us free dessert, and when I first got there I couldnt WAIT for the dessert round, but after how disgusting the entree meals ended up being, we didnt want to risk eating those either, we just wanted to leave and go get other food to eat... Not kidding, one couple went to In and Out, we went to a grocery store an bought food. They were kind enough to remove the salt meals from the bill, but the total was still $160 .... Honestly I dont recommend this place, the price, the flavor, it just doesnt work, and that makes me sad because I love nothing more than supporting local owned local sourced.

Wow, what a great new gem for Salt Lake City. For those who remember, this is the old Luganos location - new owners, completely new restaurant. It opened in October and it is now official well discovered. Very happening place. We had heard bits and pieces about it and glad we did. Wonderful renovation - very bright, open, eclectic. Menu is simply remarkable - combination of small plates and large plates, with great options. Most of all, its amazingly reasonably priced. We did five courses and shared - only $80. We opted for a blend of small plates plus a main. Hearts of Romaine salad was huge. Loved the white anchovies. We then went with the short rib together with candied butternut squash. We then focused on the main - an amazing Caribbean grouper. We topped it off with a wonderful bread pudding. This place is buzzing. Its not for a quiet romantic evening. But its perfect for special occasions. Love meeting friends at tables next to us. Great dining experience.

I was here with the wife, son, and his wife. We had a spectacular meal. The dishes were interesting. The service stellar. The prices fair. Although the wine list is very interesting and fairly priced, they dont have any wines over 30 years old on it. This trip was for a birthday and included birth year wines. On this trip we just ate a collection of small plates. There were too many that were interesting. The Wagyu tartare was not traditional, but very good. The foie gras was done perfectly. We needed two of the bone marrow to make sure everyone got enough. The shrimp and grits were as advertised, but not up to the level of everything else. I could eat the pork belly steamed buns all day. It seemed a shamge when Lugano shut down, but the replacement is truly top notch. I also like the new entrance and near complete redo of the interior. It is light and airy and inviting. I can hardly wait to get back.

We love provisions! If I could, I would say it is more of a 4.5 than a 4, but I cant do the half star! We just came tonight. Started off with spritzers that were light and great palate cleansers that we nursed through the meal. The Peach Burrata was a perfect pairing (it was a special for the evening). Good smoky flavor on the speck, juicy peaches and thick cream burrata. We love the tempura green beans and pizzas never disappoint. We were a little taken back on the Halibut, though. A little overcooked and rubbery, and the flavors didnt quite jive with us. Sad for us, but it wont stop us coming back. We love this place!

If only I lived in the area instead of in San Francisco...just because I loved the food at Provisions that much! I wish I could make them a regular destination. As you probably know, I have thousands of superb choices in SF; Provisions can stand with the best of them. Even as a vegetarian, I was wowed by their skillful choices of ingredients, seasonings, preparation, and presentation. My dinner there was superb in every way. And, gratefully, the full house did not create an overwhelming din. It was a great pleasure to be able to converse with my companions without yelling at them. All in all a five star evening!
