While the food here was good, I think this might have been the first meal Ive had in awhile where the service was just SO much better. I came here on New Years Eve with my parents for an 8:15pm reservation. The place was packed to the gills, so we werent seated until 8:30pm, but we had no problem waiting at the bar in the mean time. We ordered cocktails from the incredibly friendly bartenders who were more than happy to transfer our tab when the table was ready. The ambiance was cozy, lots of low ceilings, wood, and leather. The place was buzzing but not overly loud. The bartenders were efficient but didnt sacrifice any quality of the cocktails... Texas Paloma - vodka and grapefruit, super fresh and refreshing. Scotch Monroy - lemon, rosemary, and booze, not too heavy but definitely alcoholic. Apricot Blossom Punch - fruity and sweet, if thats your style. Once we were seated, we were greeted by our incredibly friendly server Jeff. He was excited to serve us and spent lots of time giving us recommendations and explaining the menu. We each got a starter and entree... Grilled & chilled shrimp, 5-stars: served with homemade cocktail sauce and Henry sauce, aka thousand island. The five shrimp were grilled before being chilled and served, giving them a nice, smoky BBQ flavor which was complemented by the herbs rubbed on top of them. The cocktail sauce didnt taste like anything special but the Henry sauce was a nice, textured light version of thousand island. Short rib potstickers, 3-stars: served in ponzu sauce with a touch of citrus. Because they were served in the sauce they were overly salty and any crunch that may have originally been there was soggy by the time we tasted them. The cilantro and mix of black and white sesame lightened the heaviness of the short rib and this was a hearty portion with five potstickers. Brie toast, 3-stars: too much bread, not enough brie. The bread wasnt toast, it was definitely just bread, and it was very thick, overwhelming everything on top of it. The pear was sweet and caramelized, balanced with the spice of the arugula and the crunch of the puffed rice. This could have been a great dish, but with the heavy bread, the other flavors were just bland and lost. Korean skirt steak, 4-stars: the steak came out nice and rare (ordered medium rare), with a healthy serving of veggies and fried rice. The asian mushrooms were delicious and the rice was fried in some kind of chili vinegar, giving it a good kick. Whole bronzino, 3-stars: accompanied by perfectly roasted cauliflower and veggies. The fish had a bit of crunch while still being flaky and tender. A simple dish, but WAYYYYY oversalted, to the point of almost blowing out the palette. Scallops, 5-stars: perfectly cooked scallops, though they could have used a bit more sear. SUPER crispy brussels sprouts, accompanied by a caper brown butter sauce. The sauce gave the dish some richness but the salt of the capers cut through the sauce a bit, keeping the dish from becoming too heavy or rich. Even though we were quite full, we managed to share the dark chocolate cheesecake for dessert. It was served with a passion fruit reduction, which brought some nice fruit flavors to the otherwise dark dish, and fresh raspberries as well. A bit dense for cheesecake, but still very delicious. Overall, I was quite happy with the meal here. The service was outstanding, and while the food was a bit hit or miss, Id love to come back and try other things.

We have been to the The Henry several times and it is always good, however, last night was exceptional because our server Dana was amazing. There were four of us and everyone had questions about the menu VS the restaurant week menu, Dana had the precise answers with the best descriptions Ive heard from a server. I happen to ask about the Bolognese, which I would never think about ordering unless in an Italian restaurant, Im from back East and had some of the finest Italian food in the world. Danas face lit up as she said " Im Italian and the Bolognese is one of my favs. I asked her where she was from, she lived the next town over from me back East, so of course I got the Bolognese. It was amazing better than any Italian restaurant Ive been too in Arizona. Thank you Dana, The Henry and Fox Concepts should be proud to have you on their team, David.

I came to the Henry for a Friday night date. There was a wait when we walked in so my date and I grabbed a spot in the cocktail lounge seating. The cocktails were fantastic (I highly recommend the Missing Coronado) as were the potstickers. Our host came to seat us around 45 minutes later; we sat outside on the patio. We waited eight minutes for our server to greet us (we ordered a Caesar salad to split as an appetizer). Another six minutes went by with no waiter so the runner that brought the salad was kind enough to take our order (we also had to ask him for waters because our waiter didnt bring any). The $47 steak I ordered came out dry and the potatoes were cold (I ordered the steak medium rare). The atmosphere here is great, however, the food and service ruined what could have been an amazing experience (especially for a $155 tab).

Ive come for breakfast, lunch, and coffee, and every time, Ive been impressed. Service is always exceptional, and the food and coffee is what you expect from a Fox Restaurant. I would argue that The Henry is their best venture -- the space is unique and the menu is right on par with that. Also, the test kitchen is an amazing place to eat a meal if you ever get a chance. Youre behind the kitchen and you get a semi-private room thats in the middle of the kitchen action -- something i found really intriguing while waiting. That room is where they test all the recipes for their restaurants, according to our server. We were able to snag it on Fathers Day with a large group reservation.

We had a birthday party here for my sister and it was amazing! We had a private room by the kitchen and it was gorgeous (subway tiles, drapery covering the window doors, gift table, etc.) and the staff (especially Aurie(?)) were so friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend them for large group events. The chicken was delicious as was the kale dip with the pita wedges. The flourless chocolate cake was scrumptious, if a bit tiny. I also really enjoyed their berry lemonade. They personalized our menus with a happy birthday greeting to my sister and everything was clean and shiny. I wanted to move in! Would definitely recommend and am looking forward to going back.

The braised short ribs are perfectly tender and the glaze goes exceptionally well with the mashed potatoes. The salmon is cooked to perfection: a bit crispy on the edges and tender throughout. The beats that accompany are deliciius. The Old Fashioned here is high quality and the Pinot we had was exceptional. The label escapes me but it was from the Willamette Valley. The peanut butter chocolate lava cake is very good. We substituted the banana Gelato for the salted caramel ice cream and I wouldnt change a thing! Prompt and attentive service. The patio has a suprisingly nice ambiance and offers a nice view of Camelback.

We went to Henry to celebrate our 10th anniversary. We made a reservation but still had to wait 15 minutes to be seated. We had questions We asked questions regarding the menu but the waiter acted like he bothered by answering to our questions. The food was very average and very limited choices. Same for desert. My fish was too salty. Most restaurants would have offered a complimentary desert with a happy anniversary note to make the night memorable but not this restaurant. The fact that it was our anniversary did not matter to them and they did not do anything to make it special for us. I will not go back!
