About us: My husband and I live in Scottsdale and go out to breakfast once every weekend. I try to pick a different place each time because Im adventurous and we havent yet found a place to become a regular favorite. This review is for the: Scottsdale Road Scrambles location Summary: Atmosphere lacking for me, but food good. A little spendy for what it is. Fast, friendly service. The atmosphere: This is almost a cafeteria-style eatery. The space is small, but bright with lots of windows and high ceilings; very open and also industrial (metal decor) and modern despite the wood laminate flooring. Not a lot of personal, freestyle seating - there are bench seats and tables largely lining walls and partitions; you can easily get friendly with other parties seated next to you. Its upbeat, noisy and active. While none of thats bad, its not what I like in a breakfast or dinner place - that really only works for me for lunch. My preference for breakfast is somewhere comfortable and warm to ease into the day where the noise level is low, music is soothing, but happy, and where my husband and I can keep to ourselves enjoying coffee and food. The process: You need to check the menu, first, before ordering. Then, you get in line and order at the front counter and pay beforehand like at a buffet, but with ordering from a menu instead of buffet. Then, take your number, stop by at the beverage section to grab your coffee or whatever drink, and find your place to sit. Someone will bring your food soon. The food: The food is just fine. Cooked right, tastes good, no complaints, but definitely not a place comfortable enough for me to want to linger; more of "please bring my food so I can eat and get the hell out of this chaos" kind of place to me. Now, there is some outdoor seating, that Im assuming is quieter, but not sure, but when we went, it was too hot outside to try it (hello, Arizona, its too hot most of the year to be outside). End result: I wont be going back unless Im hanging out with someone who really wants to go there. As a personal choice, its a no.

The counter-order Breakfast concept is pretty awesome. One of two locations in the mid-section of the Valley. Wasnt really sure of what to expect but I liked the prices posted on their online menu and when youre out of food but wanting a muscle-building breakfast this is a solid spot. The parking lot was packed but when you find yourself inside theres plenty of space with the addition of the patio seating as well. For $2.89 you have bottomless coffee: an Italian and Breakfast Roast. Heinz apparently makes honey. I ordered the steak and eggs, this is where I have some problems though. Although the price for the dish is excellent and they should keep it right there with the perfect portion. The NY Strip was probably one of the worst seasoned steaks Ive ever eaten in my life. So yall need to put in some work on that. Two fluffy eggs, perfect hashbrowns, and a English muffin to round it out. My girlfriend went on to order the Phoenix omelette and my oh my was that delicious, I could only be jealous of her choice that was chock full of flavor versus my un-flavorful steak. The sour dough bread is also delightful. Definitely a fun choice for breakfast, especially if they get after it and season that steak.

We wanted to avoid the hotel breakfast since we are from Chicago and go eat somewhere locally in Scottsdale, so I found Scrambled. What a great restaurant, as soon as we walked in we were greeted with smiles. Our twin 3 year old girls didnt like the French toast so I was confused because thats their favorite. I ate some to investigate and found out that it was very salty. Turns out that the cooks accidentally put salt into the batter rather than the sugar, not a huge deal. The server went above and beyond and got my girls other food. They also refunded us our whole meal and wouldnt accept me to pay for the delicious food that my wife and I ate. Great service, great friendly staff, go above and beyond for the customer!! We need a Scramble in Chicago!! Thank you guys again!

Ive loved my previous experiences at Scramble, but this one was not good. My wifes hashbrowns were greasy, soft and tasted like they had been basted in butter with a funny taste you just couldnt get rid of. Hashbrowns should be golden and crips not yellowish and limp. And my sweet potato hash was burnt, yet raw. The only reason I gave 2 stars is my tofu breakfast burrito was actually decent. And there was no excuse for the poor food because it was early (before 8) on a Sunday morning with only 3 other customers in the restaurant. Plenty of time to cook the food properly!

Went to this place for breakfast while staying at nearby hotel. The place looked nice, clean and bright, the order came fast, but the food was luke warm - we both had scrambled eggs, and I had sausage patties that would probably be quite good if they were hot. Hash browns were limp, soggy and almost cold. After reading so many raving 5-star reviews, I am hoping this was just a fluke, but I am not going back to give it another try, too many better places out there.

I didnt like the concept. You enter and order, pay, sit down and wait for the order to come. There were no seats so had to stand around waiting for a seat. Then the wait for the food was soooo long. The first seats available were at a "bar" which was situated so we were sitting facing a wall with our backs to the restaurant. It was so unpleasant. The food was way over priced considering it was not waitress service. I will not return.

Great layout and seating, especially patio; super average food. Cinnamon roll is a dry biscuit covered in whipped vanilla frosting cut with cream cheese. Eggs are all relatively flat tasting. Hash browns are a nice take on typically hash browns. If you love food you wont come back to this place. If you are more about ambiance its a great place. I did dig the huge self serve drink island thing.

My husband & I have enjoyed this lovely brunch place on a number of occasions! I would say they are a bit over priced. I consistently order the huevos rancheros, which are fantastic; as are all their baked desserts!! However my husband has ordered GF pizza which were all right, their salads, based on the chopped salad, are quite disappointing, especially for the price!

Was not very impressed by the food here. Easily could have made this at home and the food came out pretty slowly. When I asked for an extra plate, I had to ask 3 different servers because I wasnt able to get it the first 2 tries. Food overall was fine but a pretty loud atmosphere and nothing incredibly impressive. Good for a quick breakfast! Not good for groups.

Such a great place to eat at. Came here for a business trip and this was the nearest place to eat at. Great foods for breakfast and brunch. The steak and eggs are affordable and delicious. They have a great vegan and gluten free selection. There have tables for outdoor eating which makes it great to eat outside at 60 degree weather.
