Excellent Fried Snapper! I had listened to a good friend talk about this place for years. Although he had eaten other things from their menu, he absolutely raved about the fried snapper whenever he had it. Well, last week I was in the area, with time to kill before a meeting downtown, and a pretty good appetite. I decided it was the perfect time to try San Carlos Bays snapper for myself. I was welcomed to sit anywhere I pleased, and was very shortly brought chips, salsa, water and a menu. The salsa was on the hot side, but delicious with the fresh taco chips. I ordered the whole (head included) fried red snapper (small - you have a choice of small, medium or large) which came with refried beans, rice, and a lime. My food arrived in a reasonable amount of time and looked wonderful. The fish was still piping hot, and had been scored on both sides to ensure even cooking. What I loved about the preparation was that I ended up with so much nice crispy fish! It came away from the bone easily and I only had to be careful about the tiny bones along the fins. My fish was un-breaded, nicely seasoned, and perfectly cooked. The "small" fish was the perfect size for me, and left me completely full. I didnt add any hot sauce or salt, but enjoyed eating the hot salsa with it, along with juice from the lime. The refried beans were good too. Ive never been a fan of that red Mexican rice. I tasted it, but left it alone after that. I completely enjoyed my meal, and also thought that it was appropriately priced. Service was friendly, and I intend to return the next time I need a fish fix.

The food here awesome. The 7 seas cocktail makes you feel like your really ocean side. The diablo shrimp and bacon wrapped shrimp are also extraordinary. The micheladas are great too. I would have given it a 5 if it wasnt for the ghetto building. Its like they picked it up from Rocky Point and dropped it on McDowell. These owners should wise up and renovate. 5 for food. 1 for the atmosphere. 3 for service.

Communication is a major issue here due to non English speaking staff or limited staff who speak English, we ended up trying food we disliked and they could never explain how bad it would be, left a lot of food and teied to explain how it was not well cooked but had to pay the full check. Either she pretended not to understand english... the food left and our expressions should have told her their food was bad.

Excellent food, great service, fun atmosphere. Prices may be a little high for some people, but I had the seafood salad which was reasonably priced and very filling! I would definitely go back. I had read that the restaurant was tightly packed and crowded, but I did not find it to be uncomfortable at all. It made for a fun, lively vibe.

Fresh and, for Mexican food in Phoenix, light and healthy. Had the shrimp and fish combo in a garlic sauce on a 114 degree day. It was a satisfying and refreshing meal. Efficient wait staff. I only wish it was located closer to home or work. Worth the trip.

Im from Mexico and love the mexican seafood there. This restaurant in Phoenix has even a way better flavor, so glad I found it. And they have a great variety of delicious dishes.

Service was a bit slow but it is a small place w/ only one wait staff. Food was pretty good! A mariachi band came around to play music which put a nice festive twist to dinner.
