The whole experience was different which i expected after reading online reviews. I really hoped for a good different but it turned out to be a not so good different. First there are no prices anywhere at the store/restaurant/art gallery. Its a very casual place, like eating at subway. He has wallets and blenders and other random stuff all over the place for sale. The menu online is completly false and innaccurate. Expect to pay at least double what it says. I had halibut and a soda, my wife had a steak and a soda. It was $80. A bit of a shock after looking at the online prices. Pros, food overall was ok, not great. My halibut was quite good. My wifes steak was between average and below average. A friend we were with had chicken pasta that we all agreed was terrible. It tasted like chef boy r d sauce on a ton of noodles with a couple bites of chicken. They dont ask how well done you like your steak. One other person with us ordered steak. His was half burned and half raw. The chef really pressures you to eat what he wants. I asked for ahi tuna, he said "you dont understand how it works here, i tell you what is fresh and that is the best thing to get." He said they ordered 38 lbs of halibut that came in today so that is what i should have. Pushy? Yes. I think the chef wants you to eat what he has available so it doesnt go bad and charges whatever amount he feels like depending on how much money he wants to make that night. Im glad the halibut was good but with 1 of the meals being terrible and 2 of the meals being below average i would definately not reccomend. No prices? Expensive. No thank you. I will not go here again.

If youre in the mood to be treated like a child then please disregard this post. Never have I been treated so poorly at a restaurant or in public. He brags about his food and how unique everything is but when it comes to the customer, youre the last thing on his mind. I honestly dont know how the guy stays in business with how he treats people and the way he runs his business. No doubt he has good food but I will never pay for that type of experience again. When asking for a simple request he responded "In all my years as a chef youre the first person to ask that. I simply dont make it that way and so no, I cant do it like that". He made me feel dumb and very uncomfortable. He continued to brag about his prime rib and how he cooks the most unique dishes in Utah. When he gave me my food he said "here you go, its on me, get out of my restaurant I dont want your money.." Good food, over priced, horribly behaved owner that should stay in the kitchen away from all the customers!! Oh and PS: Get a freaking menu!

We took a group of friends to this restaurant because they have a large gluten-free menu. My friend had been their before and told us the ropes. The chef is a very unique man who likes to tell jokes and visit with his customers. Sometimes the wait for food is longer than a regular restaurants. This is simply because hes a one man army cooking the hard way. Its a fun wait though because he sometimes gets all of the tables in a huge conversation where everyones laughing at the same time. All of his ingredients are fresh. If you sit at the bar you can see him preparing the meat and fish and bread right in front of you. It is impressive. The food is amazing. Every single dish is. If you want to add a spice or some heat to your dish it is on the counter ready to be used. This is a restaurant idea that needs to spread!

Extremely disappointed in the way a friend and I were treated here. We came in to buy an order of Pho for a friend who was feeling sick. This particular friend wanted to have the condiments that typically come with Pho on the side so she could put it in how she wanted. We asked the owner if he wouldnt mind doing that for us and he absolutely blew a gasket. He was extremely rude about such a simple request and let us know he was extremely offended by our request. Dumbfounded by his reaction, we waited for the soup. When it finally came, he threw the broth in one container and the rest in another container and told us to get out of his restaurant. Chef Hai is a great cook but a horrible person. If you can put up with his childish and unusual behavior, you may have a different experience.

Wonderful food! Been here a few times and enjoy the food each time. Last night I had an amazing Prime Rib dinner and my husband had the Prime Rib Pho. The food is great! Just realize that you are NOT going to get an average dining experience. There is no formal wait staff and you are basically in charge of letting someone know if you need something. I am not always sure about the prices of anything, but just expect to pay between $15-$35 per plate depending on the order. I have seen some people complain about the prices, but once again realize that the ingredients are fresh and you will get a balanced and delicious meal. The owner always has something interesting to say but may come across a little gruff...doesnt bother me. Love the food.

Tonight we had the absolute best Prime Rib weve ever tasted, worthy of going out of our way to write a review about it. It is impossible to be served a better Prime Rib for a better price anywhere. I literally mean anywhere. Everything Ive tasted from Thyme and Seasons has been amazing. It is so refreshing to know that no matter what you order, you can count on it being fresh. If they dont have fresh ingredients to make the dish, they wont serve it that night. And when the fresh ingredients are gone, so is your ability to order that dish. Thyme and Seasons is an absolute home run! Open your mind to this complete culinary joy.

The food is good, only the starter salad was really great, and the service is terrible. No prices posted and no real menu, just a list of meat types that may be available written on the wall. The Chef Hai is pushy and rude. Unless you tell him exactly what you want right away, hell probably order for you. So either dont ask questions about the menu or be OK with him telling you that you want something you dont want. I would have said that prices were high, but portions were also way more than what a typical person should be eating, unless you only eat once a day. If we end up going again, well just order one meal for two people.

As a visitor in town, I found this place on Google and decided to give it a shot. I was glad I did. Upon entering I wasnt sure what to expect with an eclectic collection of items in the building. My fears subsided quickly as the chef personally greeted me and guided me through the choices for the evening. Settling on steak and pasta fit the bill of my desire. I was presented with an AMAZING handcut, dry aged steak and a bowl of pasta that I should not have been able to finish, but couldnt stop eating. This is an experience that I could not soon forget. Thank you chef! The next time I am in SLC I WILL be back.
