We were so excited there was a Pappadeaux in Scottsdale, we ate here our 2nd night with six, our 4th night with 13, and our last meal with 4, before heading to the airport. We have to try everything, and our waitress Kara, the first night there, was beyond outstanding, recommending things (ways of preparing the food) that werent on the menu, she was on point with everything she recommended, Along with the deep fried crab fingers (crab claws) she recommended them sauteed, the sauce they are in you could take a bath in its so good, fried frog legs - yummy, but the pan fried were to die for, deep fried soft shell crab, crawfish tails and alligator - oh the alligator! done perfect every time, no hint of gaminess, perfectly tender. So delicious, and the sauce the serve with it,outstanding. Since were all piggies after our array of appetizers came an entree, grilled lobster tails, done perfectly, great size for the money, very sweet, very impressed. She brought out three different types of butter, oh my, outstanding! Tried the crawfish gumbo sans oysters, the lobster bisque, oh, and the salad with the avacado/cuke/cashews/lobster outstanding - The couple at the table next to us were staring, as their waiter recommended a basic fish, with dirty rice (how boring) and for dessert, when the waiter offered them creme brulee, and the patron asked for something lighter, the waiter offered a scoop of vanilla ice cream while Kara brought out the tray of heaven, a beautiful example of their offerings, homemade banana pudding with a homemade vanilla wafer, key lime pie, praline cheesecake, brownie with caramel and walnuts and chocolate galore, among other things, We will be back, every chance we get!

Im going to start off by letting you all know that work as at a very nice restaurant and that Im very familiar with every job and duty performed in a high priced restaurant. So firstly I would like you express my disappointment in the table seating.. in which we (a party of 4 adults) were placed right next to a large party of nine or more with at least half of them being children. Any good hostess avoids seatting customers next to a loud party. No party of ADULTS wants to have to sit next a table of screaming children. Not to mention our table was so small, perfect for a party of 2 but a party of 4 should have never been sat there, not when there were so many tables available in other areas of the restaurant. Its not that hard to tell the server that you had seated them out of their section. The server on the other hand was very nice but also very unexperenced and he was always towering over our table making it a bit of an awkward experience. Later after we were finished eating, I was given a to-go container in which I had to scrap off my own plate! That is unexeptable . The guest should never have to scrap of their own plate, not at $20-$50 a plate. Lastly while leaving the restaurant the hostess (seater) was standing in front of the hostess counter chatting with the other hostess in doing so she blocked the costumers coming in. After standing there for several minutes they gave up and seated themselves in the bar. The one star is for the good. That was an OKAY meal. I will not be returning to this restaurant.

We arrived and found parking quickly. Very few people waiting in the outside seating area. Feb 15th on a Weds. Checked in at the host station she told us 15-30 mins. The lady behind us had a child and a male with them. They where told the same time. Our kid and their child starting talking and watching the lobsters. 25 mins went by and they complained to the hostess and they where sat promptly. I wait another 5 and said something. The hostess was extremely rude and said " I can see how long you have been waiting" when clearly they seated several people that arrived after us. She never mention the bar table area was open seating. At 42 mins of waiting I told them either seat us now or we are leaving. She said sorry I cant and people are taking longer to eat than expected. Another server heard us and said some one was getting up I. The bar table area. She was kind and offered to help. She cleaned the table and got us menus then told us our server would be with us shortly. Not one person greeted us, looked at us or anything for ten plus mins. We where not even looking at the menus because you this time we knew what we wanted 25 mins ago. Out 4 year old was starving We started to leave and the this server guys said. I am going to get to you in a rude sarcastic voice. I said no thanks and we left. I did call as we drove to another restaurant and the manager was friendly and offered to buy us dinner if we came back. At that point we just did not feel welcome to eat their so we declined.

The food was okay . The service was NOT. We waited for about 10 minutes for a waiter to come and take our drink order, or even just check in with us, and introduce himself. While waiting for this to occur, we watched customers that came in after us being serviced before us. When out waiter finally made his way to our table he said "Be with yall in a sec" lol no Howre yall doing, no. Hi, my name is.. At this point we realized that this guy had passed our table multiple times as if we werent there. He seemed disappointed to wait our table. He rarely checked on us. He lacked interest in communicating with us. It was just awful. My boyfriend and I watched as he interacted with his other tables creating conversation and laughing over nothings. Ive been here once before and didnt experience this questionable service then. I would hate to assume that he neglected my family because he ASSumed that we would be poor tippers or wouldnt tip at all. My boyfriend noticed his odd behavior when he first approached the table. My boyfriend stated that we should feed his apparent assumed stereotype of dark complected ppl not tipping, but I chose not to. I tipped him 10% which he didnt even deserve that. This man is tall, light tan, with beard/ goatee wish I had the displeasure of knowing his name because I would contact higher ups. However, every single customer deserves the equal service. It was very disheartening watching our counterparts get great service while we recieved cow manure.

Met our daughter to celebrate my wifes birthday. The traffic was congested but we made it on time, 6 PM on a Friday. As we walked to our table, I noticed that this place was packed. Our server was right on top of things. She greeted us, asked if this was our first time and told us about the specials. She made us feel like we were invited to her house. We started off with a small order of alligator which my wife and daughter have never tried. I told them it was like a very tender chicken nugget. They loved it., especially the bed of fried potatoe shavings. I loved the lettuce wedge and its just as large as the one at Cheesecake Factory. My daughter ordered the Crispy Fried Shrimp. My wife had the Live Maine Lobster and I ordered the Cedar Plank Alaskan Salmon. The shrimp dish had butterflied shrimp with french fries and the main lobster was enjoyed, but I think I would have preferred the Caribbean lobster because the meat would be much firmer. My salmon was cooked just right, it only came with the asparagus which was nice and plump. I brought half of my dinner home. We finished off the dinner with a Key Lime pie which was delicious. Our server had a keen eye. She automatically assumed that it was a birthday dinner, because she saw my wife reading a birthday card and opening her present from my daughter, and compd the desert. She made our evening enjoyable.
