Went in saying to myself what a nice place, sat down at the only booth in the cafe. Was approached three times, second wattress came over stated you cant sit here its reserved for a group. I moved to a table, and switched out a chair ( have had back surgery two plates and screws in my back). Another wattress came over to take my order, I stated " Just ordering from the side menu, may I have two eggs and hash browns," wattress response, "how do you want your toast?"" My response was, "I cant eat the toast, just ordering from the side menu -may I have the eggs and hash browns?" Wattress, "" how do you want your eggs?"" My response, ""medium whites done." Wattress scoffted, and walked off. Next, 15 minutes past- same wattress- sets the plate down on the table, with her hands on her hips -she asks a very rude question "" do you have a problem?"" I stated, " No, thank you." Waitress walks off. My thoughts are- Wow-whats with these people? Next, i used the fork to lift the thin top layer of egg off the top of the egg.., the whites are in a puddle -uncooked- like jelly. I lifted the uncooked hash browns sitting in a puddle of grease ( about 2 tablespoons.) Without saying anything thing, I get-up and leave, drove a block to the end of the parking lot, around the corner on the same lot. Next, 10 minutes later- that same wattress- walks 75 yards over to my pick-up ""tells me your going to pay, im calling the police -watch me,"" and that- she did. I told her I hadnt eaten anything, it was sloppy, sitting in a puddle of grease and these were raw. I found out she lied to the officers. She told them, I "eat the food and skipped."”"""I was approached by two officers, and was told by the male office (that did not talk to me at all, but talked to the waitress first instead), he said to me...."" you pay or be handcuffed and arrested, eating and leaving is the same as shop lifting.""" I was then told, I was """evicted off the property.""" Unbelievable hospitality, eat there... ,At RUSTIC CAFE, all the fat, and uncooked food you want, yet, if, THEY..... have an issue with you, you may PAY by going to jail IF THEY CHOOSE TOO MAKE YOU PAY FOR SLOP YOU Didnt EAT.

While the servers were friendly, the food preparation left a lot to be desired. The waffle was not warm enough to even begin to melt soft butter, the scrambled eggs are basically fried and chopped up (i.e. flat), potatoes came with the meal, but they forgot. My first bite of the waffle actually had a chill to it. It was definitely NOT prepared the same time as the rest of my meal. My wife ordered eggs over medium, but the eggs were delivered with raw whites in the center. They did correct that, but it took a while. The new eggs she said were "perfect". Both of our breakfasts said potatoes. Other menu items said hash browns, so we expected country-style potatoes. My wife got hash browns. When we asked about the distinction, we were told its hash browns unless you specify. I eventually got mine when they delivered my wifes replacement eggs, but their "country-style" potatoes where thin slices so little flavor, a generous dose of ranch dressing or country gravy couldnt make it better. A little clarity in the menu wouldnt hurt, or asking what kind of potato would have been nice. Maybe it was an off day, or something, but I dont understand a 4+ star rating on this cafe. Maybe there was a change in ownership/management? The problems we experienced, and the blasé tasting food is nothing to go back for. I struggled with giving them another chance, but the wife wasnt having it, and I dont think the food quality would vary that much between days, and if it does, thats even a bigger problem. No plans to go back there.

Buyer Beware! We found a Groupon for Rustic Cafe so we decided to go there for Fathers Day! The deal was you had to purchase $40 worth of food to get $20 off so we made sure to order enough (which was much more than we would have normally) to match the deal. When the waitress brought us our bill I told her we had a Groupon and she said it was not valid on a holiday? Really, the Groupon did NOT say that. Then the owner, I think?, came to our table and asked if we had a problem and proceeded to say the same thing and she started to get really loud about it being a holiday and that it was posted by the front door that no coupons could be used on a holiday. It was quite embarrassing how loud she got! So I wondered why we did not see the sign or why it wasnt on the Groupon that we couldnt use it on a holiday? As we walked out, we looked for the sign....guess what? It is on a notebook paper, handwritten and scotch taped to a post near the opposite room that we went into. This is ridiculous! I am a business owner and I make sure all my bases are covered on my advertising. If this was my business I would have honored the coupon and then gone in and added it to the Groupon deal. Very unprofessional!!!!!!!!!!!

We ate there a few months ago when we had relatives in town for the weekend. They were very friendly and helpful. Went in today and we waited 10 minutes before we were asked what we wanted to drink and when i told the waitress i wanted iced coffee she said that i was boring. Then we waited 35 minutes to get our food at this point we just wanted to eat and get out of there. When we received our food and asked for Ketchup and Tabasco. The waiter forgot about it and we had to ask someone else. The waiter never came back to ask how the food was or if there was anything else we needed. We walked up to the front to pay and the girl told us to hold on and walked back and forth about four times before she was like i have to get you waiter to ring you out. I advise the waiter that the service today was not that great and he said we are really busy.. No apology.. The food is very good but they need to get a new staff... I would rather drive 20 minutes out of the way to go to Chompies in Scottsdale....

The only reason this was not a 1 star review is because the food is always good. However my family visited there this last Sunday for brunch and the service was scary. First off I had to kindly ask the hostess 3 times for a table for 5 on the patio. Each time she gave me a look like I hadnt said a word. Then after waiting 20mins for our table (not a big deal) she proceeded to seat us inside! I immediately/politely reminded her that we asked for a table on the patio, and she said "Oh yeah I have a table ready for you out there." Then we had a polite young guy as our server. He took kinda long to take and get our drink orders (they were not that busy) and then when he went around the table taking our orders he came back to the first person to order and acted like he didnt already take her order! (even though we watched him write it down) I dont know what was going on that day, but the staff was not on their A game. It made the experience awkward.
