We have been to this establishment a few times...each time service has been an issue, the food comes out one plate at a time, in other words they obviously dont staff properly....one dish 7-10 minutes later the next by the time we all got our food every dish was cold except for the last one delivered. Because the food is good we have always over looked this...but what I observed this evening was something I have never seen before....a very unprofessional owner "yelling" at a customer I purposely pulled the customer aside after we left and asked what had happened....she informed me she has been coming here for quite a few months has experienced the same issues we have had and on the last four occasions has been there for over two hours because of poor service, dishes coming out at different times and neglecting to make the dishes correctly omitting ingredients or telling the customer the items were inside the egg fu yung patty which wasnt the case according to this customer. I reached out to this customer because I have never heard a owner raise a voice at a customer like this...she was so unprofessional, I truly felt bad for this family. The prices arent inexpensive and there is no excuse for anyone to be treated the way this customer was. I heard the conversation the customer was calm and explained that they had been there for almost two hours that her dish was made incorrectly and that the second dish she received after all the plates were cleared everyone was done eating they still didnt get the dish correctly omitting onions as they did on the first dish...she had asked for the dish to be removed from the bill and the owner said well we made two of them and we cant just take it off the bill...the customer said she came to eat with her family not eat dinner alone and the dish wasnt even correct...the owner stated we made it especially for you....I sat there with my mouth open and couldnt believe it for what ever the dish was the owner should have taken it off the bill, it wasnt the customers fault that she had to wait that long and because her employees did it incorrectly why should a customer suffer for that....???? This experience showed me the lack of care and concern this owner has for her customers...I thought she would even apologize for our issues and even the server acknowledged they needed more cooks....unprofessional uncaring and we will never go back...and we will inform our friends in the Glendale, Peoria area to NEVER come here...if she treated us and that family like this...she will do the same to you...save your money...there are other places that care and that the food is better. I dont normally review resturaunts but had to because of not only my experience but that family who just wanted to go have a nice dinner and be respected and they clearly werent and neither were we!

Been here more times than can count... live very close. They even know my kids by name. Never had a bad experience here. The chefs do an awesome job at preparation and presentation. The plates with rolls always come out looking like a high end restaurant. We all have our favorites - I dont know what they are called, but they are good ;) Try a few different rolls and you will see what I mean - all good. The server staff is just the best - awesomely attentive, interacting, and fun to talk to! Pricing is on par with other Japanese area restaurants - it is not a cheap meal, but well worth the price paid!

Stopped by for a quick bite and to try a new sushi place. Got the tuna stuffed jalapeños and a spicy tuna roll. The jalapeño was pretty much raw and abnormally spicy and the spicy tuna has 0 other ingredients... throw some cucumber slices in there, it also had a funny taste to it. Happy hour prices werent That happy. My wife got a religious fortune cookie... thats different. Oh yeah and when we first walked in they asked "how can we help you?" What kind of question is that? Im here to eat some sushi.

Really love this place. To be forward, this place isnt the cheapest, but I havent had a sub par dish yet. The food come out fast and steaming hot, you know it was never under a heat lamp. Great flavors and never a dish that I didnt like. The Wet N Wild and salt and pepper soft shelled crab are must. Staff is very nice and studious. It might be a little out of the way for some but its worth it.

Went here last a few years ago, and was disappointed. But, a friend has been talking about the place and suggested that we give it a try again. We got the Love Boat of sushi... and it was really good. A whole big assortment of sushi and sashimi that was fresh and tasted good. My boy got the orange chicken, which was really delicious too. (I tried it.) So yeah, Kawaii improved!

My husband and I LOVE this place! We go here 1+ times a week. The staff is awesome and the food is amazing. The sushi is beautiful and tastes great. They have the best margaritas. They dont skimp on the alcohol. The prices are reasonable. The quality is top notch. Reservations are useful on Fridays and Saturdays as they do get super busy.

I loved my experience here! The staff was very kind and patient with me. I was searching for a specific sushi from a place back home and the manager not only made the roll with everything I asked but recommended others similar. The food was delicious! Everything was very fresh. My crab was cooked to perfection. I will definitely be back.

My family and I love to go here. Were loyal customers. The place is very clean and friendly. After sampling many sushi restaurants around the area, Ive come to the conclusion that their sushi rises above all. Their dishes are so colorful, and it just complements the freshness and flavor.

Service was good, the food was decent, however when I ordered the salt and pepper calamari for my 8 year old, it came loaded with chilli flakes and jalapeños. The waitress brought me a new one without the spicy options, however she brought a deep friend soft crab instead of the calamari.

Probably being the only 14 year old that decided to rate this restaurant I really enjoyed the food the waiters and the waitresses. This is the one restaurant that keeps me off of my phone cause this is an amazing place it is highly recommended no matter what u order

Kelly and the entire staff are very friendly and fun to be around. We like to eat alot of sushi and the sushi at Kawaii is the best. We recommend the Love Boat sushi and sashimi combo. It is perfect for our family of four. We highly recommend Kawaii Sushi!

We tried a variety of sushi and the orange chicken. The sushi was very good, but the orange chicken was a little overcooked and chewy. The service was very friendly and happy to help... But not great at checking in on drinks. Will be back for the sushi soon.

Mediocre sushi that was ok, but unimpressive. And a bit overpriced to boot. The restaurant isnt bad, but there are much better choices out there for good sushi. On the good side, the restaurant was quite cozy, and would make a decent date spot.

This place is my new favorite sushi spot. Im pretty picky about my sushi and this place was excellent. It was crowded but the staff handled it just perfectly. 10/10 I just have to make sure I dont use every penny I have eating there now ha ha.
