30 November 2014. At 6 PM three of us had our name added to the waiting list for a table. We and at least two other parties waited outside for our names to be called. The young woman at the counter was constantly on the phone taking to go orders. I watched for tables inside to become open and cleaned. After fifty minutes the waiter signaled to me that our table was about ready but then he seated a party of two who were waiting inside. This party of two had only been waiting for about ten minutes. I asked the waiter if he had checked the waiting list. He said that the party of two had been waiting a long time. I told him that they had been waiting for about ten minutes and we had been waiting fifty minutes. He asked the young woman at the counter who was still on the phone for the waiting list. She presented it and it became clear that he should have checked the waiting list before seating the party of two before us. I told him and the young woman that we would never come there again. I guess it doesnt matter because they are obviously too busy and don’t need our business. It’s sad that a waiter doesn’t know to check the waiting list before randomly seating people.

Ive been going to thus restaurant for years and their food is the BEST Asian cuisine Ive ever had. Its very rich in flavor and feels expensive yet comfortably authentic with a great price point. It isnt as cheap as panda express but the quality is way better so you get what you pay for and in this case - probably more! Unfortunately I had to knock off a star only because of the young girls theyve hired recently. It has nothing to do with them being young or girls (Im a twenty something female) but rather, theyre immature and dont care about doing the job. One of them constantly texts while shes waiting for someones payment to go through so youre in the middle of checking a customer out and youre on your phone? That may fly at say, a clothing store, something super casual but not at a nice restaurant. Come on guys, hire people that actually want to do a good job. Other than that, I love this place dearly and recommend it to everyone I know.

TL;DR - Excellent Quality, flavor, very fresh. Quick service, I was told 15 min, took about 7min. Absolutely recommend. I was unsure as to whether I would enjoy this place or not, but I finally tried it today and I was blown away. Abacus Inn is very delicious Chinese food. I ordered some orange chicken and the vegetable chow mein. Both excellent quality and flavor, mainly driven by the freshness of the ingredients. The freshest Chinese food I think I have ever had which is impressive for a little business. It will taste nothing like Panda Express because there is no comparison. While I regrettably like Panda Express for quick food, Abacus Inn defines what Chinese food should be like.

Ordered delivery: Egg Drop soup: TOO many PEAS, not much egg, thick . . . but not the good way Mongolian beef: beef quality not bad, but not cut as thin as should be. Onion raw, flavor very blah and bland. Mu shu pork: No flavor, pork chunks too large Chicken chop suey: Not to be redundant, same thing over and over, no flavor. Should be white meat, but not consistent. Chock full of the crappy cheap veggies like those mini corn, carrots . . . trace amounts of the good stuff like bok choy, bean sprouts. Shrimp Lo Mein: Yep, no flavor, basically noodles with boiled shrimp and steamed vegetables thrown in.

Okay, as of food quality and in restaurant service this place gets 5+ stars. Its amazing. Serously we eat here all the time best chinese food. problem is, trying to call in an order for pickup is a nightmare... every single time. They have no call waiting, sometimes it goes to a fax, there is always a crazy long wait if you get through but the weirdest thing??? Sometimes the phone number simply doesnt work, at all. Right now im trying to call, and have been for 1 hour. Unfortunately Im going to have to call somewhere else. This has happened more times than I can count. weird. FIX YOUR PHONES!!!

I hate to give a bad review but this place was a disappointment for me. I read a bunch of the reviews that said it was a wonderful place great food and when I got there I had high hopes but the crab Puffs were missing the crab, the chips on the table were stale, the food was plentiful but if its bland youre not going to eat it no matter how much there is I guess you could say that this is just another run-of-the-mill Chinese restaurant so as long as you know what youre in for stop in and eat. But if youre looking for that one place that you cant wait to go back to, keep driving dont stop here.

Worst service ever, I think they feel like they can get away with it since theres not many choices available for Chinese food this far north. They should really be forced to switch there name because the one on Thunderbird is a million times better than this one, and it gives them a bad reputation. Ever time I attempt to order here Im put on hold for 6 to 8 minutes server is rude and just puts me on hold with out asking. The food is also subpar. Can a nice quality chinese restaurant please open up on the north side, Deer Valley area.

Very quaint little restaurant with a nice atmosphere. The staff is very friendly and on the ball. I order came crazy quick! I wasnt even 3/4 into my soup! Food was delicious! My friend and I both commented on the surprising quality and flavor. Fresh ingredients and generous portions. Wonderful combinations of spices. Meat was tender and the shrimp were surprisingly large. We will both definitely find our way back with a larger group. Overall nicely executed and would recommend to anyone who enjoys small business Chinese restaurants.

Went there for the first time this evening, excellent service. Food was great, especially the orange chicken. The Shezwan was so so, and the honey sesame chicken was great. We also had crab puffs that are filled with cream cheese and were to die for! Very large portions. 1 dish fed a 9 year old, 6 year old and 2 year old with left overs. For 3 dinner size dishes it was $33 for 5 people!

Quaint little place on 59th ave/ N. of the 101 with really good food. Loved the Hot & Sour soup and had the Abacus House special chicken. Very enjoyable meal! Prices are great and they serve lunch specials on Sat. & Sun. too. Had never been there before but will definitely be back! Friendly service, nice atmosphere and good food! Couldnt ask for more.

Absolutely awful. Ordered the lunch combo with general tsos chicken. We thought the chicken came out of a cheap tv dinner, soggy, and the sauce tasted like only soy sauce. The egg rolls looked like they were in the fryer for an hour. Also the won tons had either no filling at all or were fried so long it took away any kind of taste. Will NOT be coming back

We drive about 20 mins depending on traffic to eat at Abacus Inn! We love the food, staff, and atmosphere. The portions are huge and the prices are great. They have FAST service we never wait more than 10 to 15 minutes for our food to come out. They also have awsome lunch specials. I would recommed the beef with broccoli or orange chicken :)
