This is the second time we have ordered from Mandarin Chef. I writing this review to remind myself never to do it again. The food here is just disgusting. I dont think you could make worse Chinese food if you tried. We ordered General Tsos Chicken. Which is a normally spicey dish. No spice, no flavor, had a weird mushy texture. I cant stress enough how gross it was. I made two other people try a bite, and they all agreed. I feel bad that I made them try it. The crab puffs were actually very good, cooked perfect and delicious, but the sweet and sour sauce served with them was terrible. I swear they watered it down to save money. It was so thin and tasteless and Crab Puffs just arent the same with out sweet and sour. The rice in the chicken fried rice was overcooked and the chicken was tasteless. Summary: just avoid, so many other good places around.

First time we went to this place was tonight. We ordered online and it gave us our total. It also said it would not charge our card until we got there. When we walked in the card was already charged for a higher amount. When we questioned it the owner said she Will call the online company and have it fixed that one of the items is priced wrong. She didnt want to give us our money back. Then when we checked our order it was short a rice. She said they gave us bigger one instead. Website didnt say that. It showed we should have more rice. The owner didnt want to fix it again. Told her this is our first time here and our last time here. Cant believe a company can charge you more give you less then you ordered and still stay in business. Wont do business here again and people eating there know it as well now. Please save your money and time and go else where.

We opted for Chinese over Port of Subs today, and glad we did. We ordered the Curry Beef and Honey Chicken lunch specials with an order of Crab Puffs. The only item brought to us we werent thrilled with were the egg rolls, which were small, flavorless and low quality. Otherwise, the meats were tender and juicy, the veggies fresh and crunchy and we were happily surprised with brown rice rather than plain or fried rice. The Wonton Soup and Egg Drop Soup were very tasty. All in all I we give the Chef 4 out of 5 stars. If it hadnt been for the cheap egg rolls, it would have been a perfect meal.

Found my Asian restaurant! I have tried many and have been disappointed every time. The one dish I will rave about is the shrimp egg foo young, one of the best dishes, even got my wife hooked on it. I highly recommend this place. Been trying different dishes, and been satisfied. The price is moderate, and the portions are enough for leftovers.

I have purchased takeout in the past and enjoyed the food. Tonight I decided to dine in. No "beer or wine" as described in the main yelp page. The mens bathroom is not fit to be used. The smell of mold is over powering and the visual is even worse. If the bathroom cannot be kept clean I can only image the kitchen. Eat at your own risk.

The food was slightly less than mediocre. We ordered sweet and sour chicken and cashew chicken to go. The flavor of both dishes was almost nonexistent. Howre, the worst part was the texture of the chicken. Its like its canned chicken breast. Very mushy texture, and salty. The chicken was pretty gross.

CHECK YOUR FOOD!!! I just ordered from here and halfway through my lemon chicken unnoticed a weird texture. Looked at another piece of chicken and sure enough it is RAW!!!! So disgusting. Other dish we ordered was fine and but now Im skeptical to order from here again.

The Mandarin Chef serves the best Chinese food in Gilbert, AZ. They adjust the food to your liking, the service is always excellent and they even remember my name, always! They are fine people and they will have my business for years to come.

Always delicious and fast - sit in and pick up both. When dining in, i love that they dont constantly interrupt your conversation every 5 minutes to make sure youre okay. Also love they all know all about the food.
