Dishes ordered Crab Angels Egg Roll Egg flour Soup House Lo Mien Chicken Broccoli in a white sauce Egg Roll - The outside was a crisp but not overly cooked the mixed vegetables inside were still crisp. Crab Angels - Though my husband stated he found the cream inside the crab angels slightly sweet i did not detect the sweetness. A good quality filling. The outside was a triangle folded wonton wrapper very light and crispy. No overcooking Egg Flour - certainly not your normal watered down versions offered so often in many restaurants good subtle flavor. Broth was a nice consistency with finely chopped water chestnuts that offered a nice compliment texture. There are small bits of chicken as well to enhance the flavor. A good bit of egg was present but not over powering the broth. House Lo Mien - So often the noodles lack any sort of flavor other then what has been carried over from the meat in this dish this is not so. The noodles carried its on flavor with the presence of properly cooked meat. Normally i have received shrimp in this dish that you could bounce off walls they have been cooked so long. However the shrimp, chicken, pork and beef has been cooked nicely. My partner ordered this dish and for once actually ate everything on his plate. Broccoli Chicken - i prefer my broccoli chicken in a white sauce. However to my pleasant surprise the broccoli was fresh and a good green color rather then showing any wilt. Broccoli sprouts were cooked well leaving a slight crisp in the stalk. Sauce was enough to cover the dish without leaving it dry though i prefer quite a bit of sauce for coating the rice it still did not detour from the pleasantness of the dish. Dining in - Though its not an extravagant eatery the place is clean and well maintained plus well lit. Staff is friendly and service was prompt and we were waited on fairly well. The restaurant takes changes well to the menu for instance making a spicy dish mild or changing types of sauces normally used in the dish. Price - Lunch expect to pay approx 5-7 dollars per person depending on what you order. Lunch comes with egg roll, fried rice, crab angel, (when you dine in - soup and salad as well) Dinner - expect to pay approx 8-10 dollars person portions are very large two can easily dine off one order. Comes with steamed rice unless fried rice is ordered. Side orders and appetizers - decently priced crab angels and fried wontons come with 10 per order. egg rolls are very good. Over all - A very good quality of food, fresh and great flavors. Quality and taste matches the price you pay. To be honest one of the best Chinese restaurants in the area. We went to this location since many of our previous restaurants have declined quite a bit in quality and taste to the point of being inedible in my opinion. A great every day Chinese restaurant

Very disappointing. My husband and I ordered dinner to dine in. I ordered the Happy Family and he ordered the Kung Pao Chicken. It came with egg drop soup and I had wanted won ton soup and they said it was $2 extra which we said was ok. The soup came and the bowl was so tiny that I couldnt see why they charged $2 extra for it. The won ton soup was nothing but over salted chicken broth with a very small wonton and a few small bok choy leaves. My husbands egg drop soup was ok, but also very over salted. Our dinner came out quickly. My Happy Family dinner, was anything but happy. It had shrimp, some sliced beef and chicken and some other unidentifiable long, rubbery substance in it that neither of us could identify. It seemed like it was pre-cooked and they just heated it up in the microwave because it got cold very quickly. It was also very salty and other then that didnt have much taste. My husbands Kung Pao Chicken was good, although you could taste the MSG in it and it was also very greasy. It wasnt spicy at all though. My husband loves spicy food so he was disappointed. I ended up eating some of his because my dish was so bad, but I ate little of his. As far as decor, this place has no atmosphere. Its a square room with some standard tables and booths, no decor at all. They had the tv on the football game and most of the people at the register were watching it as if they could care less about the customers. I wouldnt recommend Chens at all. We wont be going back. Very disappointing.

This place is literally so disgusting. My bf and I made the worst mistake by coming here and spending money. Even the rice and fortune cookies sucked...it was a very sad day at Chens. And I got the weirdest vibes walking in there. Staff was just lounging around chatting. I would have at least felt better if the $20 i payed for nasty freezer chicken would have went to people who actually worked. Never coming back.

The first time we ordered carry out the food was fresh and had a lot of vegetables. The second time we went there we got nothing but fried chicken and a smidge of sauce. The food appeared to have been sitting there for hours, as it was soggy. There was, also, no vegetables. This was a major disappointment! Also, is it a coincidence that I felt nauseous and have abdominal cramps the next day?

Some of the best Chinese food around. My husband and I do not live nearby at all so we dont get to have Chens often, but when we are nearby at all we always get food to go. Cant speak on their in house service as we have never eaten while there, but the care the staff takes with the food prep and packaging for take-away speaks high volumes for the care of their customers.

This is the ONLY Chinese Restaurant in the whole Mesa AZ area that my husband does not get sick at after eating, we both eat very clean and have several food allergies and this one is the only one that passed with Straight AAAAA+++++ I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM. Great prices too :)

Food quality is much improved from my last review. They cut way down on the salt, most dishes are very well prepared, fresh and tasty. Shrimp fried rice is excellent, as is the won ton soup and moo shu chicken. Friendly staff.

If you cant find decent Chinese food in AZ try here. They have good lunch meals and soups. Not a fan of the atmosphere of the restaurant so thats why I take the food to go.
