The first time we went there was shortly after this location opened, and we were excited that there was another Black Bear Diner closer than the other one. It was after 9 at night and they didnt seem to be too busy. We placed our order, then got completely ignored for the next 45 minutes as if we didnt exist. The staff was in hang out mode and the manager followed suit. We waited very patiently since we were hungry, but we left disgusted after 45 minutes of waiting. Just today, my wife and I decided to give them another chance. We came in shortly after noon and there were a lot of customers there (mostly snowbirds). We were seated and then ignored for 5 minutes. When we then told the hostess that we had not been waited on, she seemed confused about where the server was and 5 more minutes passed. As we looked around we noticed that many of the servers were busy gabbing to the other customers and were not mindful to how busy they were. Once again we walked out disgusted with their lack of service. They definitely dont have their act together and I dont see how they ever will.

After arriving and checking in with my wife and two infants we were advised by Aaron the manager on duty that the wait would be 25 minutes. We agreed and began due to the lack of seating held our children in an effort to be courteous to the other patrons. After 15 minutes of waiting a group of 6 females arrived and checked in as well along with several other families. We observed the group ahead of us get called into for their table and we began to position ourselves to be called in next. Aaron then announced the group of 6 ladies to be seated to which my wife and I automatically brought the error to his attention to which his response was a chuckle and saying I know I know. I told him since they were still in front of us to correct it. He refused and we left. Aaron you have a lot to learn about customer service and politeness.just because your friends show up to your restaurant to eat doesnt mean you crap on the families that waited thier turn. PS there are 2 other families with us here at biscuits having breakfast that witness the ordeal and decided to leave as well.

Went there last night and ordered the prime rib special and so did my spouse. 10 minutes after placing the order we were informed they ran out of baked potatoes. 10 minutes after that we were informed they ran out of prime rib. We both changed our total order. For desert we ordered the chocolate cream pie and was informed later they were out. So we ordered the chocolate lava cake. The waiter came back and stated they were out but had talked with someone and they made us the chocolate cream pie we requested originally. It is abundantly clear someone did not prepare appropriately for a Saturday night. The waiter was very professional however the manager on duty was worthless. She was more interested in hanging at the back counter eating and drinking than speaking with a customer. I can only hope the owners address this poor excuse for leadership. Food can be very good when they arent out.

Unfortunately we did not have a good experience. The waitress was amazing and helped where she could, but the food....... After waiting for 30 minutes for our food my husband was served burnt chicken. When it was redone and sent back to my husband the chicken was burnt again. The waffle was not good either. Again, the waitress was so nice and try to be helpful but the food was just not good. And I was a little concerned when I got to the bottom of my ranch dressing that was in a cup for me to dip my fries in, and it had other food at the bottom. Maybe we just got caught up in bad evening, as I have been to other Black Bears and loved them and others who have dined at this location love it. We might try it again, but this location unfortunately has made us very leary.

"The best corned beef hash Ive ever had!" Ok, admittedly Ive had corned beef hash like only three times, but the Bear knows how to sling it! Cholla! My hash came with a moderate portion of scrambled eggs, fresh fruit (instead of papas) and french toast. The fresh fruit was a medley of sliced strawberries, pineapple and grapefruit. Simply delightful! The toast looked to me like it was going to be a big disappointment, but it pleased the palate. And just because I cant turn down fresh squeezed orange juice, I continued my personal crusade against scurvey. I left quite full, and since that ample feast only cost $15, my wallet left quite full as well

Love the portions and the servers! They always have such great attitudes. This is a common date day place for my fiancée and I. We love that is quiet enough to talk, and they serve breakfast ALL day! Pancakes are not like any other, theyre fluffy and sweet! The fresh orange juice is AMAZE. It was like drinking straight from an orange! Sausage is perfectly seasoned, as well as their crispy bacon! They have hash browns and country potatoes; both are SO good! I really cant say Ive disliked anything. The servers are hard working, and I never see a manager hesitate to help out.

The food is always delicious here, no doubt about that. The waiters & waitresses always great customer service. The kitchen timing on the other hand just kills it for everyone. Twice weve gone here and twice weve had to wait between 30 - 45 min to be served our food. I was hoping for something better today and was totally disappointed. If you know you guys are crazy busy on Sunday mornings then WHY DONT YOU SCHEDULE EXTRA KITCHEN HELP TO HELP SPEED UP THE FOOD TAKE OUT. That just shows that its poorly managed.

My husband & I walked in before 8 am this Sunday morning. They had few customers. The hostess seemed like she didnt want to be there. She stated she had no idea who our waitress was but she was sure someone would be with us soon. 10 minutes later, as all sorts of staff walk by us, we left. Didnt even get offered water. Extremely disappointed in the service at this location. Been going to Black Bear Diner almost 15 years & I have never been treated this way. Wont be back to this location.

Amazing service and even better food!!!!!!! Wow, just wow!!! I am overwhelmed by how excellent my experience went at Black Bears Diner. My bf and I have always gone to the Gilbert location so we decided to try this one and I am so glad we did. Our server, Yolanda was on top of her game! Our food we ordered and brought hot and fresh. I ordered the pot roast and my bf ordered the chicken parmesan and we will be returning to this place again!

The restaurant is clean and nice, staff was great. Low rating is for the food. We love Black Bear Diner and have been going to the one off Baseline and Gilbert for years, decided to try this one since its closer. My normal order is the Griz, normally the pancakes are huge and fluffy at this location they were small and flat. I will not be returning to this location.
